Arrived with cracks and black marks

This arrived damaged. It’s covered in black scuff marks & the piece that runs along the top is cracked on both sides in different spots. Clearly very cheap. The cracks are too noticeable to keep so I’ll be returning this.

Must have for a tidy kids room

The toy chest is great. It’s not too big and bulky but instead, just right. It holds a ton of large toys so that my son’s room isn’t filled with big toys.

Broke quickly

The screws for one of the hinges popped out after just a few months, so the lid no longer stays open on its own. It was disappointing something like that happened so quickly just from normal use, especially given the cost. Otherwise, it seemed like good quality and is very roomy.

Wood broke when I was screwing in the screw. Little upset about that. Other than that, for the price it’s a good toy chest

DO NOT PURCHASE

We bought this chest because a friend had it and loved it. The first one we received had issues - predrilled holes not properly lined up, splitting wood when you barely start to tighten the screws - so we exchanged it thinking we got a lemon. We received the replacement and had the same issues plus additional ones (spotty paint job, chipped wood, and the pre installed hinges were super crooked). Such a disappointment considering how many positive things I’ve heard about this brand over the years. It is not worth the $150. Save yourself a headache and buy a different toy chest.

Beautiful. Really like the soft close hinges for little fingers. The assembly was a little bit challenging.

What type of wood

I bought this from Amazon and couldn’t find out if it was solid wood or compressed wood

Definitely recommend!

Took me maybe 20 minutes to put together, instructions were clear, and beautiful outcome! Definitely worth the money, and the perfect size! Not too big, not too small. Very grateful for the lid supports, to keep my little one from slamming their fingers! If your thinking about buying, do it! Worth the money and great product!

Cheap junk

Cheap junk, took it back. I had the same problem a previous person had with the poorly pre drilled holes and low quality. The hinge cracked when I manually screwed it in (did not use power drill as instructed). Paint was also poorly done as seems were missing paint and some edges. Low quality for Melissa and Doug. Also it had a low end bottom which is weird too. Every child is going to climb in a toy chest and I don’t think it would have withstood that

I love this i finally get to put the mess into something and it’ll stay shut! It’s not flimsy or light which i like and the hinges are really good!

Won’t cancel order

I bought this online on accident and then called within 10 minutes to cancel. They said they would not cancel the order and it would be shipped. In order to return it, I would need to ship it back and they would not pay for shipping on the return. Very unhappy with the customer service.

Cheaply constructed.

Somewhat inexpensively made. The lid is offset and scrapes against the edge of one side while the opposite side has a noticeable gap.
