Easy to program & install.

This was a simple solution to put a timer on a couple of lights.

Good price. Works as advertised. I like the little "cheat sheet" instructions and built-in pocket that stores the sheet on the device. It's not a complicated timer, but in case you forget whether the pins are supposed to be in or out for the "on" position, the little sheet of instructions is handy to have.

Coleman timer

Good basic non-digital timer. Easy to set. Has a small light that makes finding it in the dark easier. It has a (timer/on) switch so you can manually turn on its socket. I installed mine in my chicken house to automatically turn on/off lights during the shorter days of the year. This timer is better than my original one

I prefer these mechanical outlet timers over the electrical ones because they are easier to program and adjust. There is a dial where you turn the arrow to point to the current time. Along the outside of the dial is a circle of little popup pegs where you can indicate the on/off times of the item you want to plug in. It is very easy to adjust and you can even have whatever you plug in turn on and off multiple times throughout the day, if needed.

This your simple to use timer. This timer is an easy to use and install with minimal features to go wrong. I like the way it operates with its duel functionality of being on constant or with the timer feature. Easy to set time controls, just pull the pins and set the time on the timer and your good to go. Will work well with holiday lights or any light or timed item that is needed.

It's a simple, motor-driven timer that works. The only thing that separates this Woods Timer (Model 50000WD, Made in China) from other ones is the slot in the body for storing the instructions, which is handy for people like me who can't remember if the tabs need to be “up” or “down” when you want the plug energized (it's DOWN for ON). Seems like someone could print that on the face of the timer and save the paper. Unlike older model timers, you don't set just the time it goes ON and the time it goes OFF; you set the entire period when it's ON and OFF. That's a lot of tiny tabs to push and pull, but you get used to it. The 2-slot outlet is polarized but not grounded, and the override switch has a solid feel. I'm not a fan of the medium-brown and white color scheme, but that's personal preference. The price is similar to other brands.

This timer has many useful functions. It can be utilized to increase in-home safety by turning on/off lighting at the set time each day. It is also very functional with the upcoming holidays to illuminate your window displays each evening whether or not you are home. The timer can be set to operate your small appliances on a daily basis. Set it and forget it.

This is by far the nicest 24-hour timer I have ever seen or owned. So very attractive, I hate to even put it behind a sofa. This timer operates on 30 minute increments for the entire 24 hour timing program. The time is marked in light (for PM hours) and in a lighter color for AM hours. The pins pull up, and push in, and can never be removed, or lost. Also the instructions are inside a tiny slot on the side of the timer for permanent future reference. Very clever idea, never before seen by me, for sure. So easy to use, and if you need a manual override, there is a separate switch at the top, which is very easy to use. The warm neutral color pallet to compliment today's home interior in every aspect. Again, this is a very attractive, and modern mechanical outlet timer, with all the elements one could ask for. i would highly recommend this timer to other Home Depot shoppers.

This timer can be use in 30 minute increments which is very good. You can override the timer by using the switch on top of the timer. The instructions are very easy to follow on how to use the timer. You can use the timer for lamps fans Christmas decorations etc. Just remember one thing on this style you have to plug this timer in the bottom outlet so you use the top outlet. I put my timer upstairs with a fan plug into it and it is working perfect. I have it cutting on in the evening and off in the mornings to keep the upstairs cool since we don't have a/c upstairs.

Woods 15-Amp 24-Hour Indoor Plug-In Mechanical Timer is a similar design I've seen around for years. It is well made and has multiple time zones up to twenty-four in a day. The day is separated into half hour intervals that is set by depressing or raising small slides. This is an improvement over older versions that used pins that could get lost. It has an override slide to turn the device on or off and accepts only two-prong type outlet plugs, no ground plug. I use mine to operate a night light in the house when I'm not around. It is a good inexpensive timer that should last for years of use.

A great and simple to use timer for lamps and other two prong devices. Want your lamps to come on when you are not at home, this is the device for the price. Pros: Very easy to program with permanent (non removable) pins in 30 minute increments. Sturdy design. Simple to use. One thing that I really appreciate. There is a copy of the instructions set in a small slot on the side. So ten years from now you won't be wondering how to use it.

I will be the first to admit that I have not purchased a timer in a long time. But this Woods 15A, 24-hour mechanical timer is the best one I have ever seen. For one thing, it is about 1/2 the size of the old mechanical timers, making it less noticeable. Second, you never have to remove the timer and plug the lamp or appliance back into the outlet when you do not want it controlled by the timer. Simply move the switch on the top of the timer to Outlet On. When you want the timer to be in control, move the switch back to Timer On. You never loose your settings by activating/deactivating the timer this way. Third, and I have NEVER seen this before, there is a small slot on the side of the timer that contains a small set of operating instructions. You no longer have to retain the large sheet somewhere and then try to find it when you want to set up the timer. The instructions are always available. The pins are also not removable which means you cannot ever loose them. And because you can set the timer up to activate in 30 minute intervals, you can use multiple timers on lamps throughout the house, and set multiple times for each lamp to come on and go off. It will truly appear as if someone is home and going from room to room at night. No more Home Alone episodes where the burglars counted down the seconds until 9:00 PM when all of the lights came on and stayed on. I really like this timer and two or three more just like it are going to give us a lot of piece of mind when we are on vacation..

Quiet for a while

The timer works but if the sound is an issue for you best look for another product. I bought two of this item to set up my lamps during the winter months. After 3 months they started getting loud with a ticking sound that was louder than my grandmother clock. Since they were both in the same room, it became audibly distracting and now I am looking for something that will stay truly silent.

Excellent Timer for the Price

There's not a lot to be said for this timer. It can be set in half-hour intervals making it suitable for running lights in a greenhouse, which is how we use ours. It's incredibly easy to use and seems to run well. It's also very quiet, with nearly inaudible gear movement and very subdued 'clicks' when it switches our lights on or off.
