Glue spatters
I received 1 box with 16 boards inside so I am not sure if it came right from the manufacturer or if loose boards were boxed at my local HD store. 90% of the boards were splattered with globs of yellow glue up and down each board. What was glue doing anywhere near these boards in production? It is completely unacceptable. You can't take 8 foot boards back in the middle of a job. I had to stand there with a scraper and clear each board as I used it. Prior smaller orders did not have this.
Very Disappointed in color
What I received was not even close to the color I ordered. I ordered the Charred Woodsmoke white and instead received a whitewashed painted product. Not the look I wanted. Since the delivery was significantly delayed it was too late to return and get a different product without delaying the construction on our room by another month. Adding pictures of what was ordered vs what I received!

I installed 12 boxes of this material as an accent wall behind our TV. I found the material to be a bit rougher than expected and moderate variability in dimensions of each board. Of the 12 boxes there were 2 or 3 boards that were too warped or very burned and I couldn’t use. All in all I’m pleased with the finish and the room looks awesome. Just know this is not #1 finish material and will have a bit of a rustic appearance.
Smells Bad
Received an order of the Charred Wood Shiplap Pine Board option today, and I'm returning it tomorrow. The planks come sealed in plastic, so when I opened up a pack expecting a pine scent or even a burnt wood smell, I got neither. Instead, it has a slightly-nauseating, formaldehyde odor that's just unacceptable.

I was asked to write a review about this product. Well the picture that is shown online looks nothing like the product that you receive. I totally understand that it’s not going to be 100% of what you see online. I bought nine of these. The color variation is so bad it’s like someone was daydreaming while they were painting them. Then it comes to the quality of the wood and how it was milled. It’s very frustrating when you go to make the next cut to line up to the next board and the previous board is wider than the board you just cut. The wood that was used to make this product was definitely the cheapest. I am all for people making a profit I just don’t like to feel like I was cheated. The price of this product is way too high for what you receive.
[Rewarded Review] Love Shiplap
I wanted to add something to my bedroom to offset all the very light walls so I did a accent wall with the ash gray shiplap boards and it turned out to be so beautiful. I layered them in a horizonal pattern using the tongue and groove fitting and they hooked together easily with only a few areas that I had to clean up a little so they would fit together correctly. The boards were light weight enough to be easy to handle but were made to be of good quality. My boards had a few small cracked areas and blemishes around or on the wood knots that I figured the sealant would take care of when I applied it so I wasn't worried about it. I thought it looked so rustic looking without applying anything on it, which is what I wanted anyway, I decided to leave it like it was. I have received a lot of compliments on it as well so I'm glad I left it like it was.

Each board is 8 feet long which means a helper would be handy when installing this item. The patterns, while mostly complimentary, do have some that just don't go well next to each other; so it is best to lay out boards ahead of time. The finish is not as smooth as one might expect.

This product is perfect for transforming any room and giving it what I call a WOW factor. You can paint a room any day, but adding shiplap to any room will help it stand out to any guest, visitor, client. This ash color is perfect. It was pretty lightweight and very easy to work with. It was easy to saw through with miter or jigsaw as needed. I would cut into it from the colored side; if you cut through it from the bottom it will most likely blister, this will give your wall that much character if you do though. That was the one thing I really liked about the product was how forgiving and flexible it was to work with, it gave me the feeling that no matter how perfect I tried to be, it was going to be OK, shiplap is not meant to be perfect. The end product will stand out. Cutting space out for the outlet was really easy, I was feeling kind of lazy that day and just cut around the outlet cover instead of under it. I'll have to add an oversized outlet cover and extensions for the spacers later, and that's OK. My air nailer stopped working right about halfway through the project so I switched to using a hammer and nail and it worked out great. Didn't use liquid nail but you could. You can also add trim along the sides and top if you'd like, it looks fine without it for us for now. The only downside was lacking two more boards to finish our project at the top. And you can't order by the board, you order by the pack. So when we get our last couple boards delivered over the next week we can finish this project up, but we are extremely happy with how it's turned out. We've gotten a lot of neighbors in awe over the wall; one neighbor said it is the most beautiful nursery he has ever seen, I think he was almost about to cry! Overall an awesome product.

I recently acquired 1"x 6" x 8' smoke white charred wood pine shiplap boards I had selected. The boards come packaged in plastic wrap inside a heavy cardboard box. It is securely strapped in four places to assure there is a minimum amount of damage in shipping. The boards are charred slightly then a thin coat of stain is added to give it a light color. Each board has a unique pattern and all knots are tight. Our intended use is to create an accent wall on space between the front entry and our kitchen. The idea is to create a contrast and yet have a slightly rustic effect for the space. I really like the quality of the boards and none show wane or bowing.

This UFP-Edge 1 in. x 6 in. x 8 ft. Ash Gray Charred Wood Pine Shiplap Board (4-Pack) was a great decision for decorating our otherwise bland wall. Delivery was great, but bear in mind the boxes are heavy. I really liked the "shiplap" idea, as it fits together well, yet gives you just a little flexibility in case your walls are not real square. Most of the images they show, shows it applied horizontally. We chose a vertical install. The Ash Gray fits well with our Earth-tone color scheme. Install is easy enough. Just use a finish saw blade for any cutting, and finish nails to attach. I suppose you could also attach it with construction adhesive, but we didn't. We love it! Thanks UFP-Edge, and Home Depot!
