The dishes are advertised as matte black. The large plate and bowl have a matte finish BUT the cup and small plate have a shiny finish! Very disappointed that the dishes didn’t match in the set!
I ordered this 16-piece dinnerware set. Instead, Wayfair shipped me a box of 16 pasta bowls (which I'm now responsible for returning otherwise I'm charged). Tried initiating a return with the AI chat bots who were barely coherent and borderline rude. Then spent more time on the phone with customer service. Eventually, they sent out the new order. Guess what? I got the dinnerware set...in the wrong color and one of the dinner plates is broken.

This is a wonderful color and the pieces are great. The dinner plates and luncheon plates both have rums on them but not too deep. The bowls are great! The coffee mugs are a very decent size.
