Rust

Bought two sizes at Home Depot in May. Smaller 12” has rust spots all over after just 4 months. Larger one is OK.

Outstanding grab bar. High quality product with excellent hardware. I really like the finish which feels good when you use it. We have many of Moen grab bars in our home and they offer excellent safety that we can always count on. There is nothing in the market like them because of their solid construction.

Quality product.

Exactly as advertised. (Although the screws are woefully inadequate, as mentioned in other reviews.) I mounted it vertical on 1 stud. You'd have to pull the whole wall down to get it off.

The issue is not the bar but your home and where you are going to put it. Finding studs for us common folk is always a problem. Most of us DYIers have the cheaper stud finders. Once I got my bar up it was great. Believe it or not I got five out of screws into a stud, a first.

The Securemount hardware was not included when it was clearly described. I was told to bring the bars in to swap them out; they still were not included, even though I was told that they would be. Two trips and nothing to show for it. I bought them somewhere else.

only 12' and this one is 1.5" dia, way too fat. it was the only option that showed for a 12" moen grab bar. already had a 18" moen that was 1.25" dia. returned in exchange for Moen DN8712 Home Care 12-Inch Bath Safety Grab Bar. I suppose they are trying to get rid of these little stubbies. Pros; still moen quality and sturdiness.

Added to garage entrance for my elderly mom. Added a tennis raquet grip wrap handle for visibility and grip. She says it makes her more confident and safer. Yay!

I’ve used this before, but had to return this one. Good quality, and short for use in places where the person just needs a small grab bar to get them up off the toilet. It doesn’t have a textured surface, however, so I always mount them at an angle.

I have installed a number of these safety grab bars-12 inch- as a secure handhold when entering or exiting a bath or shower, usually mounted in a vertical position. I typically mount a 32 inch bar horizontally on the back wall of the tub or shower, about 35 to 40 inches from the floor, depending on individual preference. I have had good success with the Snap Toggle hollow wall anchor when a stud is not available, which is most of the time. I would stay with this welded one piece design rather than the more decorative model that uses set screws, which are prone to fail or work loose.

I got this for my mother's walk in shower. It is very sturdy and a nice looking, dull-finish white. Matched the shower very well. She didn't want the typical hospital stainless steel look, hence, the choice of white. Had some difficulty with studs not being where I needed them, and I didn't want to rely on the "non-stud" mounts for something as important as preventing a slip. Had access to the back of the wall and put in a couple of studs to secure the grab bar. Only ran into two small problems. First, the screws they provide are HORRIBLE. They strip easily. Seriously...take the time to get some better screws. Mark your holes and drill pilot holes because (here comes the second problem) if you use a drill to put the screws in, you might get too close to the bar and the drill will scratch the surface of the grab bar (like I did.) I couldn't be happier with the product though. And my 90 year old mother, who said she didn't need a grab bar, now says she has gotten very used to holding on to it while getting in and out.

Great economical safety bar for the exit / entry into a shower. The screws are concealed. A bead of silicone caulk makes it waterproof. In hollow dry wall toggle bolts can be used (2) thus eliminating extra drilling into tile.

I had several handrails professionally installed so I can’t personally speak to the ease or difficulty of installation. These are sturdy and a great help for someone in a wheelchair. The appearance is quite low-key and not institutional. They just blend in with the wallpaper.

Great product, the best handles out there. Only one issue. The screws they send with them are the worst! Just throw the screws away they are junk. They strip everytime try use them. I have installed several of these handles, and every one same thing, stupid Phillips screws. They really need to put different screws in their packaging. The review asks "suction power", I don't know why, these mount with screws. Phillip's screws are the works for stripping out,and these are cheap. Don't use the screws. Get your own to mount it.

My husband had knee replacement surgery, so we added 2 bars to the shower: 12 inch vertically at the entrance and 24 inch on the diagonal on the back wall so he could hold it with right hand as he faced the shower. Followed the advice of other reviewers and purchased the peened bar, which is less slippery. We had our handyman install them into stud, so they are quite secure. At first we were reluctant to add them, but worth the security until husband regained full balance. I comparison shopped and these were a good value and not bad looking.

Very nice quality; easy to install; very solid grab bar!

Bought this bar to help ensure that my 96-year-old father didn't fall on the steps to my balcony. I'd never installed anything like this before (I'm not a very "handy" female), but the instructions were easy to follow, the results great, and my Dad now feels so much safer going down the stairs by himself (and I feel like it is now safe for him to go down by himself, instead of me needing to help him each time). Great product...I'd highly recommend...and it looks terrific!

Very good quality

I have purchased two of these in the longer 3' length. One I installed in my mom's shower where it does exactly what she needs it to do. And it looks great! The fact that it is one piece makes it attractive and easy to clean.

nice fit and finish, fairly easy to install with a power drill and a really good (new) phillips bit. Drill out the holes in the wood studs according to instructions, particularly the size of the drill bit. Don't use a smaller one or a larger one. Too large, the screws will go in easier, but they may not hold when you need them too.. If too small, the screws get so hard to turn they will strip the head out. The screws probably should be a slightly harder, stronger metal, as they are what I consider too easy to strip out. Remember, turn the screw, not the screwdriver. Once they start to strip out, it's all but over at that point... Just be careful and follow the instructions. Once installed, it looks and works great.
