Love this grab bar

Very well made. Beautiful finish and sturdy.

Chunkier than what we expected. Returning it and buying the slimmer Delta 41818-CZ instead. Nice finish in the Brilliance Champagne color, not too shiny, just right.

Hard to Install

The mounting assembly for these grab bars is extremely difficult for a novice installer. One minute fraction off and the parts will not go back together. I ended up using a saw to cut off the extremely long threaded pieces because the provided allen wrench was stripped out and I could not get them in any further. I have installed several of these and it was a nightmare for me. I wish I could return them but the return date has expired. Once installed, they look and feel great, but what a headache.

Attractive & Functional

This grab bar is sturdy & pleasing to the aesthetics of the bathroom. The best part is it doesn't look like a "handicap" attachment. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the angle of the actual handle is perfect! The photo suggests the handle is completely round, but it isn't & it's size is perfect for dainty & very large hands. The 12" bar is on the wall as you exit the shower. I also purchased the 36" bar for the inside wall of my shower & it doesn't distract one bit from my new, modernized walk-in shower with clear "barn style" doors.

Very nice quality. Heavy duty. My only issue is that they should sell them with the mounting plates spaced at 16 inches to match the standard spacing of the 2x4's. So only 4-stars. I do recommend.

Sold product, challenging mounting system

Good solid grab bar, well styled. The mounting design introduces 2 issues: the bar mounts to the plates with a through bolt which must be perfectly aligned or it is a no-go. Secondly, the though-bolts are tightened from opposite sides, so there is no way to mount within 2" or an inside corner or flange (such as right outside a tub surround or tile that protrudes from the wall). Keep these in mind before you purchase.

Good addition to purchases I made for bathroom reno. Style matches the other Delta champagne bronze fixtures I purchased. Having a contractor do installation, but appears to be a fairly easy process. Very heavy, sturdy piece. A little pricey, though.

I don't need a grab bar, but I am over 60 and am mindful of aging in place needs. I like this bar because it doesn't look like it belongs in an old folks' home!

This is a solid grab bar. It matched perfectly with the one I installed when I built my house two years ago. It will mount onto two opposing studs which really gives it a solid feel. It is ideal for handicap use around a toilet.

Very nice finish and secure

Obviously a grab bar needs to be secure, or it wont do what it was designed to do, hold somebody's weight when they grab it. This one is solid. After mounting the bar on the wall, I felt like I could be confident that it will hold up the weight if my client needed it. It also has a very nice chrome finish, something you would expect of a much higher priced product. My client and I were very pleased with this item and I would use it again if needed.

I wish I had read the previous review before purchasing this item, because I would not have bought it and I do not recommend it. The installation instructions are HORRIBLE and it is a pain in the neck to install. A template does not come with the grab bar, so you better be good at holding up a 3 pound bar and marking the wall at the same time. It's worth mentioning again, the installation instructions are horrible. They are written in a 5 or 6 point font, and not all steps are included; there are a few tiny drawings, but overall it's not very helpful. I searched diligently for a video with installation instructions, but couldn't find one for the Delta Transitional grab bar. The grab bar comes with one wall anchor only, if you are installing it horizontally, the other end must be installed in a stud. If you don't have a stud in the right place, you will need to buy another wall anchor. As mentioned in another review, there is very little tolerance if you don't get the adaptors installed at the exact distance apart. And then those set screws are very tedious to install. They are about 1 1/2" long and it really does take half an hour to get both of them set fully. The grab bar itself is attractive, but it still has an "institutional" look. This product is actually made by Liberty Hardware and is sold under the name Delta. The Champagne Bronze finish, does not exactly match the Champagne Bronze towel bars and toilet paper holder from Delta; it's a bit darker. The finish was also sort of tarnished and required some polishing. I hope that isn't going to become a recurring problem. Anyway, based on the difficulty of installation, I would not recommend this grab bar.

Poor quality, difficult installation

Very disappointing product. We have installed dozens and dozens of grab bars and this one was by far the most difficult and frustrating installation. The escutcheons were too large and fell loose. We had to silicone them to keep them in place.
