Thick steel and very sturdy.

Made with high quality materials. The steel is thick and very sturdy. I installed it in 10 minutes. Pretty straight forward and looks fantastic. My gate isn't the prettiest either. I bought 2 and I'm glad I did. I would highly recommend.

[Rewarded Review] Easy install/ Looks nice

I initially ordered this to hopefully use on my driveway gate that tends to blow closed if it’s windy. It’s a chain link gate frame with wood fencing attached. Unfortunately this gate bolt was not compatible with that gate. But I did use it on another wooden side gate I have and it was very easy to install, took about ten minutes. It actually came with sheet metal screws that stuck out 1/4” so I did have to find some lower profile screws for it to clear the post on the side. The piece, which I assume was like a cotter pin or something, that goes into the bottom on the bolt/rod to keep it from lifting completely out was not included though, so I just put one of the screws into the hole. Quality and look are good.

[Rewarded Review] Fortify the Home or Business

Everything came well packaged, so that nothing was scratched. I give it 4 stars mainly because the screws provided were self-tapping and the tapping end should have been a little smaller. Outside of that this product is top quality. You can see in the pics that the brackets wrap around with screw holes on both sections. That will help prevent the screws from pulling out. There were no instructions with this product. I didn't need them, but a home owner may need instructions as to placement of rhe brackets. I would recommend this product for everything from Residential to commercial. I installed this on my personal property. I am extremely satisfied with this product!

[Rewarded Review] Decent Drop Rod, a Little Short

This gate drop rod is pretty good. It has a good amount of heft to it that makes me think it will stay stuck in the ground where I drop it and be unlikely to let the gate swing when I don’t want it to. The black paint looks snazzy and I am expecting it to resist corrosion better than unpainted steel would, but only time will tell on that. The drop rod I replaced with this one was held in place with a couple eye bolts, so the brackets feel like a step up from that. The brackets wrap around the edge of your gate so lining them up is a snap, but I could see that being an issue if you didn’t want the rod right at the edge of your gate for some reason or if your gate has a really tight clearance since the hex head screws protrude slightly. The extra holder bracket at the top is a nice inclusion in this drop rod set as I always had to rest my old one on top of my gate latch. The six hex head screws per bracket is probably a little overkill, but you can rest assured that it’s not going anywhere, and you don’t really have to worry about stripping the heads of the screws with hex heads. My only complaint is that the rod is too short; another 10-12 inches of length would make it a lot more ergonomic to cut down on bending down to grab it to open and close the gate. Installing this on the gate took less than ten minutes with an impact driver, including the time spent removing my old drop rod. I wouldn’t recommend trying to install it with a socket wrench given the number of screws.

It took over a week to receive the Winsoon 18” metal gate cane bolt. This is a very straight forward project. No instructions needed. In my case I needed a 3/4 or 1 inch masonry drill bit to make a hole in my concrete pad. A hammer drill is also helpful. I needed to modify my gate with a 2x4. I thought it best to use deck screws to attach the Winsoon metal brackets. I am happy with the product and know it will add extra security to my property.
