Decent fridge because it works
I love the aesthetics of this fridge. What I don't like is how compact it is, very small. The water dispenser is located inside of the fridge on the left hand side. The water will have to be run a few times before drinking it. Once you press the water to dispense for the very first time, it will release air that will pop. No worries because that should happen only once. The water also comes out cloudy with a taste the first few times so run the water often. This fridge also is preset to 37 degrees and the freezer at 0 degrees. Sometimes I feel like it's not cold enough when I open it, but the food is cold. I truly dislike that. It comes with wifi also and the panel is located on the inside right hand side of the fridge on the bottom half. When you connect the Wifi, download the LG ThinQ app. The app isn't amazing. It doesn't do much other than tell you when your fridge is opened for too long. other than that this fridge and the wifi and app is useless. This isn't what id consider to be a smart fridge. another thing I struggled with was adjusting the shelves. my husband had to figure it out because there was no way the shelve was moving when I did it. I watched him when he removed the shelf and you have to make sure to remove the tape and after doing so, lift up BOTH shelves at the same time and then they will separate where you can adjust it to your liking. I know my review is long, but honesty is the best when making purchasing decisions as I too look at reviews before I make any purchase.
Wonderful fridge, unexpected great upgrade
This LG fridge was a replacement for a 10-year old 22 cu ft Viking French door fridge that was having several problems. It was installed in less than 20 minutes, in exactly the same location with no modifications. The additional 5 cu ft of room, mostly added to the freezer section, is a godsend. Now my freezer isn't jam-packed, and it's easy to add and remove items. Also, the door shelves in the fridge section are so deep that all my condiments and liquids fit in the doors, leaving all the shelves in the main fridge free for meals etc. Better design and utilization of space. Another surprise: it's REALLY quiet. Can't hear the compressor running. Once it made some ice to cover the bottom of the ice bin, there's no noise as it makes more ice cubes. My only "complaint", actually more of an improvement suggestion-I can't fit a normal champagne bottle upright in the fridge without removing a shelf/bin, or putting a shelf so close to another that one is more or less unusable. :-)
I can’t honestly say I love it. Unless we remove an entire shelf, we have to put drinks on the doors, which we did. So, whenever we open and close the doors, if there are only a few drinks, i.e. bottles of water or seltzer, they fall down and we have to stop to stand them all up and be very careful closing the door. The bottom drawer where we put cold cuts and cheese seems quite flimsy. We went to the store with our dimensions and the salesman told us we didn’t need a counter depth refrigerator, which is what we had to get when we put our new kitchen in 8 years ago. But the salesman said that was wrong and our dimensions would allow us to get a regular depth one. He also left us standing there for a very long time while he helped a few other people. We were really on our own, but desperate for a refrigerator, so we picked on that he said would fit. It really was a nice one, but when it arrived, it didn’t fit! We had already spent over a week without a refrigerator! So, rather than go back to the store and dealing with that salesman, we went online and picked one out, and unfortunately, we’re stuck with it because we couldn’t go any longer by sending it back and waiting for another one. Don’t go to the HD on Pond Path in South Setauket!
Big!
This is a BIG counter depth fridge. We had a standard LG counter-depth fridge previously and this being the counter-depth max, it sticks out probably 6 inches further than a standard. The inside is so big and spacious, almost more space then we need since we have a second fridge in our garage.
[Rewarded Review] Best refrigerator ever!
I’m not exactly old yet, but I AM excited about a refrigerator! We replaced a very expensive built-in refrigerator in our condo. I didn’t want to spend $10k (or close to it) on a refrigerator simply because it was considered a built-in. Instead, we opted for a standard fridge with as few features as possible. No fancy technology, just a simple water dispenser and ice maker.
[Rewarded Review] Great for 23 months and good luck getting service
We initially loved this refrigerator—it worked flawlessly for 23 months, keeping everything perfectly chilled and running quietly. However, it suddenly stopped working, and now we’re facing ongoing issues. The Best Buy repair technician has been out three times already, the first we waited 1 week for him to come diagnose the issue; the second we waited another week but apparently, he brought the wrong part; the third, after another 2 week wait, and we’re still without a fully functioning fridge. Now we’re told to wait 3 more weeks for a part that we don’t even know if he will be able to solve the problem.
Definitely worth buying
This is a great basic refrigerator. Nice clean lines on exterior. Runs quiet although slightly noisy when dropping ice and filling water reservoir. Exceptional interior space for a counter depth model. Without exterior door access to ice and water, all interior door shelves, and interior drawers are deep and roomy for excellent storage. Interior lighting is not the best. Plenty of light near the top but lower interior shelves, not so much. Thankfully the deep door shelves do help expose items to light. I chose not to get exterior ice/water access because I got tired of the ice freezing up and jamming the dispenser in my previously two refrigerators ( not LG) . The interior water dispenser is basic meaning it dispenses water by pushing a button but there is no volume of water dispensed indicator. The freezer is also nice and roomy but could use some better compartmentalization. The only real negative is the quality of the plastic door shelves in the refrigerator section. The plastic seems lightweight and I’m not sure how long they will hold up. There is no shock absorbing/spill catching liner on these shelves so I had to add my own. I couldn’t give 5 stars because I’ve only owned this refrigerator for a month.
junk
Do not buy anything LG. Our brand new fridge just died after exactly 6 years owning it. The infamous linear compressor died. There's a class again lawsuit against LG for these compressors. They were forced to extend the warranty on the compressor for 10 years but that only covers the cost of the compressor and it will be replaced with the same compressor that will fail again. There are people online with stories of having four compressors go out within a 12-month time period. Imagine losing all of your food and not having a refrigerator for a week, four times a year. We bought an entire LG suite for our brand new house. We've had issues with each appliance. Our microwave the button on the front panel to open the door broke. Our stove we cannot clean the grates because LG's coating is awful plus all the knobs are plastic and peeling so you can't see any numbers on them. And it is by far the worst oven we've ever owned at controlling temperature. Our dishwasher the coating on the racks rusted through, luckily LG replaced those two without an issue but how long will they last? Our washing machine the underside of when you open the top door rusted all the way through. It is terrible at when it senses the load because we could have everything evenly distributed and it will give an error from time to time. Our gas dryer dries so terribly that we have to add 30 minutes to everything we dry. It also spits out the most lint through our ducting that I've ever seen any dryer do my entire life. That's a fire hazard.
I’m so intrigued by how this machine can have so much capacity and still be classified with other Counter Depth units.
[Rewarded Review] Love This French Door Refrigerator from LG!
When we moved into our new home just over 4 years ago, we bought top of line appliances from a Cafe. The oven, microwave and dishwasher have been fine. The refrigerator on the other hand was a disaster. It broke on average once every 6 months. While under warranty, it was fixed and we did purchase a 3 year extended warranty. But out of warranty it broke big time and I had had enough and wasn't willing to pay to fix it.
Seems to be good after a bad start
After our thirteen year old GE Profile stopped working, we decided to replace all our appliances and switched from GE to LG. The first two refrigerators delivered would not get cold enough. As we promptly notified our local Lowes in under 48 hours of delivery, Lowe's replaced the units without us having to use the LG warranty. Lowe's customer service was EXCELLENT! We now have a functioning refrigerator, and we love it. It's a great size. Lots of space in the door shelves. Makes great ice cubes. Water dispenser works well. My only complaint is that you must be sure to push the freezer door closed. If not, it does not close tightly and quickly loses cold. We have experienced the freezer door open a smidge, barely visible, and find the temp up in the teens and higher if it's been overnight. The freezer does not have a warning alarm like the refrigerator, but even if it did, I am not sure it would alarm with the door open to such a small degree. We have become accustomed to this and make an extra effort to close the door tightly. Overall, we love the refrigerator.
So far so good and even better
We bought this fridge as a preplacement for an old GE counter depth one that started having problems.
Disappointing
This is better than the GE we kept for less than two days, but it's still a disappointment.
Serious desigh flaw
I was thrilled to find a counter depth refrigerator that offered standard depth volume. I’ve since discovered that LG accomplished this by making the doors about 4” thick, but not adding the door depth to the overall appliance depth. I have a wall opening that allows just under 2” of clearance on either side of the refrigerator. With both doors open the thickness of the doors adds about 4” to the overall width, which means there isn’t room enough to open the doors. My previous Counter Depth refrigerator fit flush in the space, providing a clean built-in look. This refrigerator must stick out the full 4” depth of the door, in order to open the doors at all. Even then the doors do not open far enough to remove the drawers for cleaning, unless I move the appliance into the middle of the room. LG’s customer service appeared to be more interested in acquiring my personal data than resolving my issue. The pictures show how far it sticks into the room and the thickness of the doors. I have given this refrigerator a 2-star rating, as I suspect that the build quality is good. My beef is with the poor design and the disingenuous marketing. This is NOT a counter depth refrigerator and I would not have bought it. If Lowe’s offers me a replacement, with free delivery, I will accept it. If not, I will urge my friends to shop at the Big Orange store.
[Rewarded Review] Compact Fridge with tons of easy-access storage
The Model LRFLC2706S was our 2nd time purchasing an LG Counter-Depth Fridge. Our prior model, (purchased 8 yrs ago) was plagued with temperature control problems that were emblematic to both LG & Samsung Fridges with the water and ice dispenser on the outside of the frig door.
[Rewarded Review] Capacious, no-frills, counter-depth fridge
Summary: This is a basic refrigerator that gets the job done and offers impressive capacity at a great price. If your kitchen requires a shallower counter-depth refrigerator and you prioritize capacity over bells and whistles, this is the one to get.
