Woah!

Woah, didn’t look like much unpacking but NO crying windows all week and we had pretty bad condensation before installing this. Product stacks out.

[Rewarded Review] Clear View

This product really works. I was hesitant at first but the finished application was great, the view was clear through the plastic, not milky like some plastics. Easy to apply. I would recommend this to a friend, and have.

Ick

The paper Tape keeps treating and then I have to fiddle with it to get it started again. I tried to pull off the top tape. Wouldn't work

Windows

It seems to be doing the job. I would like to know if your company carry the fixture for curtain rods, the ones without screws.?

$$ saver

I use the shrink plastic every winter and it definitely makes a difference! I have 2 windows 62" x 62" facing the river and they're not sealed the best. You can literally see the blinds sway when the wind is blowing. Once I install this plastic there's absolutely no more cold air blowing in %26 it stays put all winter. It doesn't hinder your view either. I still can see the river %26 watch the eagles perch atop the tall pines as they wait to snatch up their next meal from the water! i definitely recommend

It takes a little learning

I have used this product for many years and love the results. The window frame surface must be clean and dry for proper adhesion of the tape. I wipe it off with denatured alcohol as a first step. I use a fine pocket knife blade to lift the tape backing to peel it. I put two strips of tape on the vertical surfaces, peel the backer off, the put tape across the horizontal surfaces and overlap the vertical ends. Easier to peel the backer off then. I use a high powered hair dryer to shrink the film. The trick is to keep the dryer moving...don't let it overheat the film or melt it. Never leave the tape on the window at the end of a heating season.

Tape problems

I have bought & used these for years. I have noticed the tape is not as good (way worse) than it ever used to be. And stingy: holy moly... doesn't 3M make the tape? Give a customer a couple rolls & allow for mistakes. For the price these are now... it would be nice if we didn't "have to" find more rolls.

Time will tell

3M, you must have been in a hurry to get this product to market. The box and the instructions do no favor to the fact that the window film IS heat shrinkable however it is mentioned on-line in your product description but not on the box or in the instructions.

Removable paper liner failure

Second year i have had issues with the tape. The removable paper liner does not release from the tape. Do not buy this product. 3M is better than this!

Would not shrink, full of wrinkles

Have been using 3M window insulator kit for years but this year I was very disappointed. The film would not shrink or wrinkles would not come out using hair dryer on high. It no longer has shrink on the box. The film no longer gets nice and tight. Looks bad. Will no longer use this brand.

Good product, good service

We find this product works well on some of our windows that need extra insulation from our cold weather. We ordered this from Blain and received prompt and reliable service and would do so again without hesitation,

Yikes

Unfolded plastic and was surprised to find rips all throughout the plastic. Did not get a solid piece to cover window. May have to freeze this winter. Buy another brand.

TERRIBLE TAPE !!!

Have always liked this product but this is bad enough to make me not buy it again tape is useless so the film is useless 3M should recall 5 window insulator kits I saw the reviews on it and did not heed their advice It's either a bad bad bad apparently 2 years worth or A bad change in process or materials
