Stopped working after 2 years

I was initially happy with this purchase, which I installed in 2020, but the motor died this year (2022). A replacement motor costs as much as I paid for this, so I'll be replacing the entire thing with something new.

Love this hood, excellent purchase

We purchased it with the kit to make it recirculating as we live in a Pueblo style home with no outside vent installed above the range. It works great. My brother and I installed it, and we did make a couple of adjustments on placement and size of screws, but no major retrofits. The carbon recirc filters are heavy duty quality. The blower knob is an infinite speed, adjusting as you turn it for just the right suction. I followed the advice of other reviewers and installed the bulbs [NOT INCLUDED) before putting the hood up. The halogen bulbs do get very hot, so learn their locations before blindly feeling around the underside of the hood for the knobs, easy enough and you’ll prevent burns. This thing is simple and quite a workhorse, with the low setting very quiet and the highest loud, but what you’d expect for this amount of suction. It’s critical for the healthy air quality of a home. Studies have shown that homes indoor air quality while cooking without a vent surpasses that of New Delhi on its worst day.

Excellent fan once installed. Very difficult to install. Mounting holes must be marked exactly on mounting surface and mounting screws installed exactly for key holes on fan to line up and engage. Would have been much easier if there was a bracket to be pre-installed or at least a template to use when screwing in the support screws.

Had issues with this hood from day one. Would have switched it out for another brand, but had paid for professional installation. First a light socket did not work. Now fan motor works sporadically and light switch broke. Only one year on parts for warranty.

Beautiful and powerful

It was hard to install since the unit is 30lbs and requires serious mounting compared to our old 15lbs Broan.

Pleased with this vent hood - both attractive and in operation. Decent construction for the Mid price point for vent hoods. Fan and motor appear robust. Variable speed dial on fan is much nicer than push buttons where you Only get high, medium, low.

Cannot recommend

Ours vent's externally but the baffle filters don't keep enough grease out of the cavity which despite best efforts cannot be fully cleaned, which has now led to grease dripping down our wall behind the unit. I've tried everything to clean this thing thoroughly (and yes I wash the baffles in the dishwasher often) but the design is just not conducive for cleaning all the way do to the cavity design. I fear I'll need to remove the entire motor to clean fully which I do not recall the instructions saying would be needed- if they had I would have bought something else as it also is not an easy thing to do (for me at least). After 1 year it began rattling loudly and has just gotten worse. When cleaning the baffles recently I discovered the housing on the internal electrical cord for the motor was melting off which is very concerning. Maybe mine is defective but for this price, I've had better vents with less issues under microwaves in cheap apartments. I regret buying this for our kitchen remodel. Don't recommend.

Extremely unreliable product with critical design defect

The screw will come loose every few months. It is difficult to tighten it because you have to find the perfect position. I have to find repair man to fix it every time.

This product is extremely unreliable. You get loose screw on the motor almost every 2 or 3 months. The screw is in a very difficult location and is very hard to tighten. I need to ask repairmen almost every time. The look is good but the design is very defective. Never waste money on this.

This range hood does a great job to vent the smoke as we do a lot of stir fry cooking. The stainless steel filters catch most of the grease and they are very easy to clean, especially if you use cleaning solution with bleach. It is somewhat noisy at the highest setting, however, but tolerable.

Very nice range hood and we’ve installed two over the last year. Ample flow and simple controls. Second one came with a missing knob which required us to purchase separately for over $30. The only way Home Depot would correct the missing knob was to send the entire unit back and order a new one.
