It is relatively quiet at full with a rigid duct install. The controls are simple and well made. The stainless construction looks good. Unfortunately the LED lights are a custom assembly so there is no off-the-shelf bulb to replace with a brighter version. You have to go to their website and purchase upgraded parts that are much more expensive than off-the-shelf appliance LED bulbs.

Truly horrific to install

This was the hardest thing I've ever had to install. The protective film is a nightmare to get off. It took 1hr and it's still stuck underneath some of the non removable bits. The template isn't cut out. It had 3 lines and I had no idea what line to cut it out on. The screws are very bad quality. They stripped to a straight circle and couldn't handle going in the plywood. They would pop out of the narrow slots because the metal would bend so we couldn't get it to stay up without washers.

Junk with non-existing quality control

After installing it, the electric motor quickly developed very annoying vibration when using it at lowest fan speed setting. Manufacturer sent me a new motor replacement (which had metal balancing clips on some blades, meaning it was already unbalanced from the day it was manufactured), after installing this replacement motor - same issue (loud vibration), just at second motor speed setting. I will be throwing the whole thing into garbage and buying range hood from different brand.

Extremely noisy even on lowest setting

Had to replace Golden Vantage range that malfunctioned because of power outage so went with this one because of the physical buttons.

Good 30" ducted under cabinet stainless steel hood.

1st I like the stainless steel construction. The button controls are convienent. The LED lighting is good and the way to go nowadays. The 3 speeds of the ducting fan is good.

Under Cabinet Range Hood

We bought and installed this range hood about a month ago. The unit works well and is reasonable quiet, especially on the low and medium settings, given the price point. I give it 4 stars because of the installation instructions provided (not that clear) and a word of caution regarding the template for drilling installation holes. In anticipation for receiving the unit I downloaded the template from the Home Depot website and predrilled the holes for the vent pipe and the power cord. After receiving the hood I compared the template I had downloaded with the one in the instructions and they were the same however, the hole for the powercord was nowhere near the actual location of the cord on the top of the unit (it was much closer to the hole for the vent pipe). The installation instructions also had some unusual measurements ( 3 1/3" to the center of the vent hole for our model of range hood, 33 2/5" for center of hood mounting screws for a 36 inch hood). Better to check the measurements on the actual hood you receive before cutting and drilling.

We ordered this exhaust hood as a replacement/updated exhaust hood for one installed under our kitchen cabinets 35 years ago. The old had aluminum meshed greasy filters and the new had new design baffles . We downloaded all specifications, manuals, and installation guides prior to purchasing. The side or height dimensions stated was 9-3/4 inches. However, the actual received product measures 9-3/4 inches in height sloping through 12 inches width down to 8-3/4 inches in height. When viewed from the beneath or stove top it gives the appearance that the hood was installed wrong or at an angle. Also, the fan housing and squirrel cage blower are made of plastic: don't know yet how well grease and heat will react to these surfaces. The motor fan sounds to be not dynamically balanced and the hood vibrates and sounds like a diesel truck idling. The hood is secured solidly to the cabinet with five (5) mounting screws at designated slots/places.. Since this hood is vented through the cabinets, kitchen ceiling, and attic, a lot of labor was entailed during the installation. I personally would have preferred brighter LED light(s). I am highly disappointed with the entire experience!

hood performance exceeded all my expectations

This hood was chosen on Feb 28th, 2020 because it offered a significant 760 cubic feet per minute of air movement, with permanent removable filters that were dishwasher safe. My builder installed model only offered 120 CFM. Many of the reviews were concerned about the noise - we have found the noise to be the same as our builder model. To ensure minimal noise, we ensured the hood is solidly mounted to both the wall and the cabinets above, this way there is no noise from rattling, only the fan operating. In addition, the electric motor only draws 190 watts so not possible to generate significant noise by itself when operating. We cook almost everyday with a gas cooktop, so odors are always prevalent in the house, this fan has reduced the odors from cooking (fish, garlic, onion, etc.) to a significantly lower level than previous. The LED lights are perfect for providing additional lighting while cooking and when cleaning - they are not meant to be floodlights. Overall this range hood is the perfect compliment to any chef's kitchen with 3 separate fan speeds to ensure the needed suction for the type of cooking. Excellent product Cosmo!

Dramatic improvement

We had a bit of trouble installing the range hood due to some issues drilling into our tile, even with specialized bits for the rear hood support. Then some of the holes lined up with the cabinet face frame instead of the underside (which actually makes it feel like a better install, but I'm not sure if it was supposed to install that way all along or not). Once we got through those steps, set up was a breeze. I chose this model because I will eventually build a custom cabinet around the front and wanted to be able to just reach up and press the buttons instead of needing to see what is on an lcd screen. The buttons have a very nice feel go them, substantial I would say. I do not experience noise from the exhaust vent in the cabinet rattling as some other reviews have mentioned. The unit is a lot louder than the microwave it is replacing, but then ...it's also actually doing something and the noise is smooth (if that makes sense?), so I have nothing to complain about there. I am very pleased with the value of this unit and am glad I didn't wait until the cabinets are repainted and the backsplash replaced...it won't be nearly as hard to take down and put back up as I was fearing previously. I would definitely buy this unit again!
