[Rewarded Review] Powerful fan

Love my new wall hood. It looks great and the fan is powerful. However, while I can control it from my induction cooktop, and the light automatically turns on when I turn on the cooktop. The lights don't automatically turns off when I turn off the cooktop and the fan also doesn't automatically turn on/off.

I HAVE THE bOSCH 500 HOOD. It works well and i particularly like the fact that it connects with my bosch inductioin cooktop. as soon as i hit the on button on the cooktop, the hood light comes on and when i start cooking the hood fan automaticly starts.

Worst Experience I've Ever Had

I bought this almost 2 months ago and it' still sitting in my kitchen. The delivery was a month late, customer support was not helpful and they are not responsive even today.

BEWARE - DO NOT PURCHASE THIS VENT HOOD!

We ordered this Bosch vent hood from Lowe's on 9/24/23. It was supposed to be delivered by Oct. 31st at the latest. It was not actually delivered to us until 12/16/23. Two days after delivery, we tried to install the vent hood and found that the pre-fabricated blower pieces included in the box did not fit together correctly, there is a 1.5" gap in the fitting which makes them useless. So, we contacted Lowe's customer service, but they said we needed to work directly with Bosch to get the issue corrected and a new piece sent to us. We contacted Bosch immediately to let them know about the problem.We first reached out to them on 12/20/23, and since then have been bounced back and forth between Bosch Customer Service and Bosch Technical Support . Bosch Technical Support says there is nothing they can do but the developers are "aware" of the issue. Today is 5/23/24 and tech support at Bosch still says we need to be patient as a resolution has not been found. If Bosch cannot manufacture pieces of an appliance that fit together properly, or create a fix when they do, they should stop making that appliance.

(Rewarded Review) Hood Review

This Hood is great. We love the modern look it gives our kitchen. The fan is strong and powerful and while it can be noisy on the highest setting the lower setting is fairly quiet and can still remove the air while cooking. The lights are very helpful when cooking at night and the hood is very easy to clean.

Works well removing cooking odors. The only one thing that keep me busy with this range hood is resetting the grease filter saturation even if I just clean the filters sensors are not that accurately designed.

The hood looks good but very loud. You would think the loudness was due to its power. However, if you use the front burners, the air from the hood would blow it towards the cook instead of sucking it into the hood! Defeats the purpose of having such a "powerful" wall hood!!

Happy with my purchase

I purchase this hood solely because I also have a Bosch range and wanted to stainless steel to match exactly. The hood is strong and works very well. I can see the steam being swept up directly by the fan. I haven't tried out the WiFi or other functions aside from the light. I m don't have any complaints

The hood is big, shiny and gorgeous. I bought this particular one because I can program it to come on automatically when my stovetop is powered on and the fans seem more than capable of handling anything. I feel like more thought could have gone into the lights. I wish they were diffused more so my Bosch induction cooktop wouldn't reflect 6 bright, distinct LED lights right into my face while cooking. Another gripe with the lights is the placement. For a hood this size the lights should have either been slightly tilted back to light up more of the cooktop or a second set of lights added to the back of the hood. I also hate that the 'connect' light is always on but none of this would prevent me from recommending this hood.

CFM Output

I just installed this unit in my home, unfortuatnly the CFM max output is over 400 and becasue of that I need makeup air in my home (per biulding code). Does Bosch make CFM reducer for this unit?

Hood itself is good - would have liked in hindsight the bluetooth connection so that our range could have remotely turned it on and off. What wasnt great is that it was bent and I had to bend back into shape.

Vent works great. A bit noisy but I don't mind that as long as it works. Lights are nice BUT I'm having issues with the right side intermittently flashing on & off. I'll have to file a warranty claim.
