The fan is fine. The remote is fine. I just could not get the iOS app to get connected so that I could program it and set any schedules. The app needs to be updated to also work beyond the 2.4 GHz wireless band.
It's ok, but needs to include a down rod longer than 4".
I also don't like that you can't use a universal downrod or that you don't include a longer one automatically.
Easy to Use
The downrod was easy to use. I would recommend adding instructions on how to use for the specific fan you bought though.
High Ceilings
High Ceilings need a downrod - the fan finally was installed this morning - we needed this download as our ceilings are 10 ft.
Good, but not perfect
The downrod works, for some reason the safety cable provided in the downrod is not the same as what’s in the manual. It is bigger, and does not fit in the covers when assembling the fan so I had to omit it. Also the extension cables have connectors on the end, but the fan and the ceiling obviously do not, so there was a degree of wire cutting and stripping necessary.
Definitely works with the fan/light unit that I have. However, it comes with connectors and the fan unit does not have these same connectors. I had to cut off the connectors on the fan side and use butt splices on the wires. Then I used the connector on the incoming side to connect to the hot and neutral wires. Now there is a quick disconnect if I ever need it.
‘Just what we needed!
With a high, yet sloped ceiling we needed something longer than the pole that came with our Carro fan. Ordering a 24” extension was easy and delivery was prompt.
Home Depot too often has items on-line without accurate descriptions. In addition the in-store associates also offer incorrect advice. Buying this cost me money and time since it could not work with the ceiling fan I ordered at the same time.
The rod cracked when the screws were being tightened. Thin and cheaply made. Returned downrod and fan.
Downrod didn’t fit with the carro fan after being told by manufacturer that it would. Electrician said it was one of the worst fans he’s dealt with. Returned them all.
Purchased the downrod after supposedly confirming with the manufacturer that it was the correct one only to have my electrician show me how it doesn’t work with the pin and also telling me how awful these fans are to put together. Returned them all for different brand.
Nice downrod
It's a downrod designed for the fan I bought (Carro Apex) designed for their DC motor and it works. Quality is good. Not hard to install. Comes with an internal safety cable. My ceiling is a little more than 13 feet and I would have liked a downrod just a bit longer than this 36” one but it works pretty well at this length so no worries.
Purchased fan (shipped from CA to Raleigh, NC) thinking I could buy down rod from local Home Depot. Carro's constructed for down rods is different than other manufactures (ones Home Depot carries) so I ordered a down rod. I asked Carro's service personal if I could use ball that came with 6" rod and was told YES. Not the case. Carro had to send me a different ball for 18" down rod.
Wasn’t very obvious how to use it. There were no instructions with it or the original manual. The original hang rod that came with the fan was flared at the end to avoid having it pull through the mount. However this replacement rod was not flared so it needed something to keep it in the mount. I came with a little piece of metal rod and “set screw” (at least that’s how I used it?!). The only problem with doing that is the mounting rod then extends up into the holder and doesn’t allow the power pack for the fan to also fit in the holder. They need a little more R&D on this.
Carro Smart Fan 14" Extended Downrod of DC motor Black
Looks great and work perfectly. It is installed in an outdoor gazebo, so the wireless control feature made installation much simpler. When originally installed, I was not happy with the volume of air being generated. I contacted customer support and included a photo of the installation. Their almost instant response suggested an extended rod to lower the unit; it seemed to close to the eaves of the gazebo. The extension solved the problem and we are now enjoying cool breezes.

Downrod was not entirely compatible with the upper fitting on my ceiling fan, but a call to the vendor addressed the issue - they quickly sent me an alternate upper fitting which worked fine. Nice when a vendor stands behind their product.
The pin for the downrod was way too big
While the overall product was excellent, double check the contents of the downrod packaging to make sure the items included are correct. We had the misfortune of waiting til the contractor got there to install the product when we learned the pin to secure the fan in place was about an inch too big :( The contractor had to go home and grind the product down to the correct size to make it work. That is the only reason why this product did not get 5 stars. Otherwise its a great product which works well with the ceiling fan we purchased!

You must use the Carro extension. It is proprietary and the generic down rods will not work. Glad I did my homework.
CARRO SMART FAN EXTENDED DOWNROD of DC motor Black / 24"
This is a neccesity if you have a cathedral ceiling. Works great and easy to install with the Carro Smart Fan.
NO instructions, didn't match my CARRO fan ball
Look, your box can be securely installed in a joist, you can securely mount the fan box to that box.. but if the whole thing is held by one tiny screw on downrod to ball.. umm?? No instructions in fan manual or downrod extension on how to properly switch between included downrod and extended. The little piece of metal that came with downrod and is supposed to support all the weight and slide between downrod holes and sit nicely in ball, was way to big to fit in the ball that came with fan.
