[Rewarded Review] Grease runs down to backsplash tiles.

Moved into a new home in March 2024. Had a builder upgrade to KichenAid Hood Model KVWB406DSS4. After cooking a couple of meals the grease pours down to the backsplash tiles. A service technician came and checked and he stated that this is normal for this design since it is only 400 Cfm and nothing he could fix. Bad Design and VERY DISSAPOINTED.

I bought this wall mount hood in advance to the kitchen renovation. The builders were making custom cabinetry so all appliances needed to be here to measure. We finaly were able to install the new commercial stove the tile was all set for the hood. We opened it up and could find no instructions or hardware to install it We have no template for rear mounting,vent cover bracket is also missing, no wall anchors, no spacer to mount is also missing, no outlet plate, the damper for the outside and electrical plug which i knew to order separately has been delivered.

This range hood was great. Looks great and works well. It also has three different settings that go from lower vent fan to higher vent fan. Of course the sound level increases just a bit but it doesn’t affect the performance of the products so I would definitely get this product again. I am a licensed general contractor by Pasadena and would purchase this for a client in the future again.

Product Defective from Manufacturer

We purchased this range hood for our new home. Difficult to unpack. Difficult to install. Worst was that our hood came defective. One of the buttons (2) stays lit even when it's not on that setting and the light button was installed upside down. It's little issues but the #2 light flickers occasionally which suggests to me that the there could be other issues to come. It should be a warranty repair but it also should have been better tested before the manufacturer shipped it.

We had selected another unit but changed to this product because of the other Kitchenaid appliances in our kitchen. I'm glad we did because the stainless-steel finish on this unit is much better than what we had previously picked out. Installation was a breeze too; comes with a template for drilling the holes required. The LED lighting is really nice and fully lights up the work area below. Happy customer so far!

[Rewarded Review] Solid fan performance & excellent night light

Good quality unit overall, KitchenAid packaging is awful. Quiet fan + washable filter elements are a Plus. However, we received (2) new units for our new home and both had corner damage from inadequate packaging failing to protect the corners of the hood. 1st unit was returned, damage on 2nd unit was on rear corner next to the wall, so we kept it. We'd been waiting over a month after closing to replace the stopgap Whirlpool unit installed by our builder. Installer knew to unpack and inspect the corners first as they are commonly damaged!

I have been a long time user of Kitchenaid products and have typically been a very happy customer. However, one thing I would say about this hood vent is that the buttons are not the greatest. I don't like that I can have all three speeds for the vent fan pressed at one time. I should only have to press one button one time (including the power button) to accomplish my goal.

This microwave DOES NOT have a turntable! The salesman confirmed from the spec sheet, and the information on the Best Buy website for the microwave that states there IS a turntable.

[Rewarded Review] Good function, but could use better design

We chose this range hood upgrade for our new home. It functions well and provides great light. However, the fact that the exhaust cover is not one solid piece is disappointing. There is a huge seam half-way to the ceiling, and we have standard 9' ceilings. Additionally, the 2 pieces vary a slight bit in color as well. We also thought that the hood itself was damaged / bent - but it is just the way the corners are constructed.

It arrived on time but a month later when I got my kitchen cabinets installed I opened the box and the whole corner was smashed in. The store said I had 48 hours to inspect it which was never said to me so Im stuck with it.

Glorified Home Decor

Stay away from this range hood (and all KA products for that matter). Mine failed after less than 2.5 years due to a fried circuit board (Also had an oven/microwave combo that failed within one month). The KA-contracted vendor informed me it happens all the time with their products and quoted a price of $800 to fix it. KA Customer Service offered me a 15% coupon to buy a new one…some sort of “Loyalty Program” where they continue to make more $ and I get another product that will stop working in no time. Their products look nice so if you view these things as Home Décor go for it, but if you actually plan to use the appliance and you know, want it to work, go with another company where the prices actually match the value.
