looks great, works well

This was installed about 6 months ago. Very happy with the finished product. This is a 36 X 36 shower base in Tahiti Gray.

Thin & Cheap. Too Costly to Risk.

We had high hopes for this Swanstone base & the matching walls. If it was the true Swanstone it was supposed to be heavier than 40lbs. The guys at HomeDepot thought so too & had a fork truck to lift it. When my husband picked it up he knew it was light weight & thin. Upon examination the bottom had "fins" made of the same material that were chipped off. The pan was thin & looked very cheap. Over $700. Not worth it. Returned the base & canceled the wall order as well.

Drain assembly garbage

Have 2in castiron drain, the rubber gasket provided is way too large, but even with 2in pvc the gasket still won't fit/seal, the gasket just sits on the pipe with large gap. Save time and find shower pan that uses a good oatley gasket that is threaded and can be tighten down on pipe as the swanstone doesn't allow for use of other types of gaskets and the one they provide doesn't seal.

Online product description was lacking in detail (e.g. material made of, drain connection options, etc.).

Purchased this to replace the current Swan while doing a bathroom remodel. the item came packaged in a box with Styrofoam protecting the corners. We then noticed that the Styrofoam on one of the corners was imbedded into the actual threshold. it also had a scratch on it that was noticeable. We ordered another one as soon as we saw these defects and have been waiting several weeks for the replacement to arrive. This is holding up the entire remodel.

The product received did not match the description I was given when chatting online with a customer service representative. It seems they just "made up" an answer to my question when they really had no clue.

THIS APPEARS TO BE WELL MADE. DIMENSIONAL ACCURACY IS SPOT ON. THERE WAS NO ROCKING MOVEMENT WHEN PLACED ON A FLAT SURFACE. IF YOUR FLOOR IS NOT FLAT/LEVEL YOU MAY NEED TO SHIM A SPOT OR TWO.RESERVING ONE STAR FOR LONGEVITY. I WANT TO SEE IF IT REMAINS EASY TO CLEAN A YEAR FROM NOW.

I'm a do-it-yourselfer and didn't have any problems installing this. I choose this one even though it was more expensive and I'm happy I did. I used this to replace a shower that cracked in my pre-manufactured home. If you use swan walls, they have to be cut to fit inside the flange.
