The fan works well enough so far, but I found one of the threaded holes used to attach the blade bracket to the motor was cross threaded. This was on of the holes used to attach the plastic blocks used for shipping (the ones that are removed). I was wondering why that one screw was a little hard to remove. Of course I didn’t discover this until I was well into the install — I sure didn’t want to pull everything down and return a special ordered fan… Fortunately I have a tap same size as screw, so I was able to clean out the threads and finish the installation.

Beware of significant extra costs in installing Hunter fans on angles ceilings

The fan was purchased as a replacement, angled ceiling application. The so-called hardware for the angled mount was not included, the fan is still not installed. The price of the angled mounting kit was ~$40, about one third the cost of the fan for guessing $10 of hardware. The folks at Hunter, after waiting on the line for 45 minutes told me that the additional mounting piece(s) were always extra to purchase. I have 4 Hunter fans currently on angles ceilings in the house, I installed them and there was no extra parts needed to install, what came in the box was used and was successful. The guy from Hunter was young and he incorrectly informed me that the extra kit for angled mounts were always an additional purchase...bull. I will neve buy a Hunter fan again. If I could rate the fan and support lower than one, I would do jit.

Quiet fan, chain pull moves easily and quietly. This fan was amazingly easy to balance. Instructions given for this task were easy to read and accomplish. Only took 10 minutes to balance, and has remained balanced for a month of continuous use. Easy to install, but could use a little more explanation if a person wants to remove the short extension it comes with and change to ceiling mount. Was a bit confusing, so we left the short extension on and didn't mount against the ceiling as planned. But we are very happy with it!

We bought two of these - one for our screened porch and the other for our in-laws since both fans had gotten rusty/cruddy. Install and assembly was a breeze. This fan is very, very quiet, but probably as a side effect of that doesn't seem to move as much air as our old fan. My mother in law wanted a light kit for hers, which turned into a bit of a hassle since Hunter doesn't have a simple chart or table to find a compatible kit - you have to contact Hunter to get part numbers of compatible kits. The only other difficulty was getting our fan to balance. I spent an hour trying to get it balanced, even going so far as moving the blades around, but still haven't gotten it perfect. The in-laws' fan was just about perfect as installed. Go figure. Overall happy with purchase and would buy again. Home Depot had the best price, was extremely fast to ship and items received perfect.

Excellent ceiling fan! It went up easy, it's completely silent at all speeds, had no issues with balanced blades right out of the box, and it's pure white unlike some others that were advertized as white but we're actually off-white. The only thing I caution you on is to put painters tape over the holes on top of the motor housing until the installation is complete. The last step of the installation is to secure the ceiling trim ring with two small screws - unless you drop one into the fan while trying to get the screws aligned. If that happens (like it did for me) you'll find yourself disconnecting the electrical connections, taking the fan off its mount, and flipping it upside down to recover the screw. Then you have to rehang it, reconnect the electrical, and hope you don't do it again. A couple of feet of painters tape would eliminate that risk - just remember to remove it when you're done.
