Customer service needed
I need a customer service response for glass glube that cracked after two minutes of fan running after install. Multiple emails with photos, three very long wait phone calls, zero help. I believe this is the first bad review I've ever felt compelled to write in hopes of response. Bought USA made on purpose.
Silent Elegance
Solid .beautiful .whisper silent fan...moves the air nicely in a large room..soft light in a beautiful frosted fixture..pull chains are nice with the hunter name..truly a worth the money item.
Not very breezy!
I've installed several ceiling fans in my life so installation was fairly simple. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. The fan blades have dark wood color on one side and just slightly lighter on the other side. LIKE: the way it looks and how it sits higher because it is a ceiling hugger. DON'T LIKE: we agree with some of the other reviewers; it doesn't move air well. We have to keep it on it's highest setting almost 24/7 to enjoy a breeze. Low and Medium are worthless. I thought that it was rotating in reverse at first. Our previous ceiling fan was very breezy and comfortable on the medium setting, but was outdated. Also, other reviewers stated that the light was very dim. We agree. The bowl is frosted and dark antique looking. The lights when turned on will look amber and not bright. The biggest dislike is that we have to keep the fan on high to enjoy a breeze. Hope that Hunter Fans honor their lifetime warranty when the motor burns up. We do not recommend this fan if you're looking for a fan that moves air. That's the reason for the 3 star rating.
Happy Wife is happy life.
This was something that my wife pick out from the Lowes web site. No hassle to order and it came in great condition and quick. My was able to assemble and install, with some help from my 2 year old Grandson. He's the best helper and loves to use tools. All the directions were pictures and were not difficult at all. Looks good, works good and just what the wife wanted. Oh happy life!
I would skip this one!
Built a brand new house and I bought several fans, only 2 of these. These 2 aren’t good, I thought we actually had electrical problems because both of these fans will go fast and slow on their own. All of a sudden it will get loud then go completely silent but still be on. It doesn’t seem to produce much air flow either, not cheap fans fo replace!!! Also the bowl looks so dated. Skip it!!
Disappointed
I should have returned the fan after discovering the bracket did not fit the box in the ceiling. I thought that would have been the only problem. The slots did not align to the screw holes. I drilled a hole on one side to get bracket to fit. Next, the instructions said to put 1 screw on each side of bracket and indicated the screws were in a certain bag which was the same bag that contained the 2 wood screws and the 2 metal screws for attachment of the mounting bracket. There were no extra screws. Next the cover was suppose to fit over the fan motor and attach to the bracket did not fit. I had bend outward to get cover to mount. Then flatten the bumps that were in between the screw holes to get it to fit onto the bracket. After tapping into place I was able to get 1 screw on each side. I had tried numerous ways to get cover to fit. The instructions were plain but the fan itself was difficult to install. Very disappointed, I thought I was getting a quality made fan. Next time I will stick to Harbor Breeze fans. I have never had an issue with them.
Bought 2 and Like Both, But Minor Install Trouble
I purchased two of the Hunter Newsome 52-in Brushed Nickel Indoor Flush Mount Ceiling Fan with Light Kits Model #: 53315. I had some trouble installing the motor housing on the first fan. Two of the pre-drilled holes in the ceiling bracket were not threaded properly, so I had to apply a lot of pressure to get the screws to start into those two holes. I also had to use a drill to get them in the rest of the way. Other than, installation was a breeze. The second fan did not have the same problem as the first one. My wife and I both love the way the fans look. They are quiet on all three fan speeds. We chose to use 10W (60W Equivalent) LED bulbs instead of the CFL bulbs that were included because we like how the light looks better. We also purchased two Casablanca Blue Handheld/Wall-mount Universal Ceiling Fan Remote Controls Model #: 99199 and two Casablanca Black Handheld Universal Ceiling Fan Remote Controls Model #: 99198. The only downside to adding the remote speed/light controller is that the installation instructions call for having the fans already assembled to make sure the fan is at full speed and the light is on before almost completely dis-assembling the fan to install the remote speed/light controller. I was able to easily ziptie the remote speed/light controller to the ceiling bracket. There is a small hole on one of the four sides of the ceiling bracket right, at the top of the bracket right next to the ceiling. There is also a hole on either side of the remote speed/light controller. I passed a ziptie through the hole in the ceiling bracket and one of the holes on the remote speed/light controller and pulled it tight. Zipties are not included, but I happened to have a few lying around from when I used them to shorten a chain on a chandelier. I prefer a longer ziptie as the space the ceiling provides is small and a longer ziptie was easier to use than a shorter ziptie. After making all the electrical connections, I tucked the wires back into the ceiling bracket and re-assembled the fan. I did this for both fans. At first, I thought the pairing process for pairing the remote to the remote speed/light controller was not working, but it just takes a minute or two. I am very happy with how well the remote works. It is nice to be able to turn the light off and the fan on from bed without getting up. All of the directions for the fan, remote speed/light controller, and remote were clear and easy to follow. I would definitely buy another ceiling fan from Hunter if or when I need one.
replacement fan
Had some difficulty getting it flat at first but that is my old house and faulty ceilings. The only suggestion I would make is make sure light works before you put the blades up because everything fits in an order and the blades and cover all have to come off to get to the electrical box in the ceiling. It is very quiet love that. The reason for the four stars is I am not sure if I am going to like the amber globe. Not very bright.
