NICE ONE PIECE CURVED SHOWER ROD

The one piece curved shower curtain rod was delivered in good shape.

Beautiful and functional!

This shower rod is gorgeous. It is a little lighter and more bronze than my other delta bathroom fixtures in Venetian bronze but darker and not as brown as the picture. I was worried looking at the pics as it just looks light brown. I was worried that it would be too light but it is absolutely beautiful, especially with the Moen shower hook (not included). Definitely makes a shower/tub bigger. Perfectly happy now I'm off hoping to find the straight version for my full shower!

Faulty decorative caps and frustrating installatio

Years ago, we bought two similar Moen shower rods two different retailers for two bathrooms. The problem with them is they had decorative “cap” covers that are supposed to click and lock into position. By some faulty design, the caps on the rods did not fit flush to the wall, so literally they are dangling useless from the rod after installation.

After comparing tension shower curtain rods to fixed rods, I decided that because I would be installing into drywall, to chose a fixed rod after reading reviews here in the Wayfair app. My husband and I got the job done, following clear instructions provided with the rod. The package does include 6 drywall screws and anchors but no wood screws. Our installation was into studs, requiring the purchase of 10 x 2 wood screws from the local hardware store. We also needed to trim the end of the rod by 12 inch, also accomplished at the hardware store, as we do not have a vice or the appropriate cutting tool to nicely make the cut. As you can see from the pictures, the end results were perfect! I want to thank our local Ace Hardware store for their help with this project.

Shower Rod

Excellent product. The rod does not extend from the middle, this help the shower curtains to slide back and forth easily with getting stuck on the join. The rod extends at the ends near the flange.

Horrible experience trying to install this. First of all, you need a hacksaw to change the length?? What kind of shenanigans... There's also no option for tension hanging, so you have to drill holes. Ended up hitting a stud & using my own anchors for one side (that side actually worked out great) but I used the anchors that came with it on the other side and they completely tore up my drywall. Now I have an even bigger project on my hands...

Rusted Very Quickly - Be Warned

I am writing this review as someone who has owned this shower rod for two years. Don’t be fooled by the deceptive product claims. This rod is not “stainless” and it’s not long lasting. After about one year, the rod started showing early indications of rust. After two years, there are rust spots everywhere and it needs to be replaced. If you read through the other 1 and 2 star reviews, you’ll see that I am not alone here. Many of us who bought this rod thought it was great at first, only to be deeply disappointed within 1 to 2 years. I would recommend you look elsewhere for a curved rod.

Think Again

Being that I like Moen products, I was fully expecting that I would be happy with this purchase. Well, think again. The video that it uses to promote the product is very misleading. The rod did not have two parts, to make the length adjustable. And the part about no cutting...bzzzz wrong. Had to cut the rod.....hard to do with it being curved....hard to hold on to. I made it work, but I'm not really happy with the deceptive claims in the video.

Perfect, after much research

We researched a long time and finally decided on this shower rod. My husband said it was easy to install and we both enjoy both the looks of it and the distance it protrudes out from the bathtub. It’s enough to give more elbow room without sticking out into the room too much. The finish matches our other stainless steel plumbing fixtures, and overall we could not be more pleased. We would definitely recommend this product.

Rod is only 59 inches in length.

Product is advertised as a 60 inch shower rod, but in reality, the rod is 59 inches long. The instructions assume that your opening is a maximum of 60 inches, but if it's even a little longer, say 60.5 inches, the mounting posts will be visible beyond the decorative end pieces. When I contacted Moen, they offered me a coupon to buy another shower rod that was a little longer. Spending another $19 and change was not the solution I was hoping for, so I'm just going to live with the exposed mounting post. I could have returned it to Lowes, I guess, but it was already installed. I was hoping Moen would just send me a slightly longer rod, but they did not offer that remedy.

Fair warning. You DO NOT get the product shown

When looking for rods on the HD web site u was frustrated by the lack of specs or much description info such as drill hole size (I needed to also by a carbide bit) etc. I purchased this one specifically because it had an instillation video. The video posted by HD says it’s extendable, it’s not. The video says it needs a 5/16 drill hole, it doesn’t. It did come with the anchors and screws but only ones for drywall not tile, the video showed tile instillation. The anchors/screws are too small for the suggested 5/16 hole. i discovered this only after drilling into the tile. Now I’m left scrambling to find #14-16 anchors which are not all that easy to find apparently. HD- if your going to post a video attached to a product at least make it the SAME item as the product. Your sloppy mess has caused me a lot of hassle at a time when trying to purchase things is hard. Also I ordered 4 items. Got 4 separate deliveries, 4 separate days, 4 different drivers, giant boxes for small things. Shamefully inefficient.

Very Attractive and Shower now feels Roomy!

I was shocked to find out how much roomier my shower felt after installing this! It matches with the other Moen hardware that I recently installed in my bathroom. I would have given a 5 star rating, but the directions were useless. The installation is easy when you figure it out, but it’s counterintuitive. Both ends pull out, make sure you install the ends so that they swivel back and forth (not up and down). When installing the second end, attach the rod, or you won’t be able to get it on without unscrewing an end. This rod is much more attractive with its curved shape, that a straight rod.

For something that we use every single day, multiple times per day, I have to give this 5 stars. Im a big fan of bow style rods anyway. The extra room and extra light in the shower is huge. The seem less nature of this rod though is what really sets it apart. With a little extra work during the install, I had to remove 1.5 from the rod, we now have a custom fit that just glides when pulling back the curtain! Word to the wise: I used a spinning pipe cutter, like what you would use on copper plumbing pipe, and it deformed the end of the rod, so I had to do a little work to open that back up to accept the 2nd mounting bracket. Not a big deal, but did take a little time. Id just use a hack saw if I had to do it again.

I absolutely love this shower curtain rod because it is one piece and everything slides so easily. Really easy to install. I was worried because my walls are 60.5" apart. The shower curtain rod has a long rod and a short 6" rod that slides inside the long rod. Please see the pictures. So my shower curtain shows a small half inch of the smaller pipe that goes inside of the larger pipe. Not a big deal for me. Also, if your shower walls were a little bit too close together, it would be possible to cut a little bit from the longer pipe. So much better than the 2 piece rod I had before. It comes with 6 wall anchors. I feel the rod is super strong and secure. If mounting on the wall be careful to mount about 1" ABOVE the tile to give room for the caps to go on! Mount level so the rod doesn't look droopy.

My wife and I prefer showering in our second bathroom so we aren't having to constantly clean two showers every week, but rubbing elbows on the shower curtain when trying to wash our hair was making us claustrophobic. We decided to try this curved shower bar for a little more elbow room, and WOW what a difference it made! The brushed nickel finish and decorate end covers were obviously a huge upgrade from the contractor grade junk they installed when our house was built. It was an exact fit to our shower walls, so no cutting was involved, and it went up in about 15 minutes. After it was installed we noticed our shower liner and curtain both fit better (like they were designed for use with a curved bar), and it really made the shower feel much larger. After a few months of use it still looks brand new with no rust or blemishes, and other than being a little close to the toilet when you're sitting down there are no downsides that we have experienced. 100% recommend.

Like the look of this Moen rod, even with just the liner on it, guessing it will look great when the new curtain is on. Blends well with the Banbury line. Always thought the curved rod at hotels was a little silly, but now after installing it on an older standard size bath/shower I am really surprised at how much more spacious it seems when showering. Tall husband also impressed with the extra space. For installation we forced it in at the 60" max even tho we probably should have trimmed a bit, but still looks great and easy to install (and force into smaller spot) with the pivoting flanges. This is trimmable and very sturdy. The only drawback may be the construction of the cosmetic flanges. They seemed a little flimsy/thin, but you can't tell once it is installed. After two months have no issues with durability, and seems to stand up well to Clorox. At this time I would and have recommended this rod and think it was worth the price.

I was determined to not have a shower curtain rod that was obviously a click-to-size model. Having a single piece bar looks like a professional did the job so I bought this item for my bathroom. It was a little scary to actually take a hacksaw to it to make the required adjustment but a good experience for me as a homeowner. Ultimately, it wasn't very hard to actually install... the trickiest part was discovering that there were studs when I thought I only had drywall. So I had to redo the holes and get some screws, not really a big deal. The end result is gorgeous and really shows off the bathroom well. I'm using it with brushed nickel shower curtain rings that have guide beads on them for no hangups and easy curtain movement.

The reviews that touched on installation were super helpful. The instructions are simple. I had to drill holes through porcelain tile. You need a special drill bit for that sort of thing. You start drilling on an angle until you can burrow into the hole directly. Had to stop and put the drill bit in water to keep it cook, and empty out the dust. I cut a bit more than an inch off the rod so it would fit. The instuctions on how much to cut off are fairly accurate. After the drilling, the install went super smooth. I love having a seamless rod. I love having curved rod as it provides more elbow room in the shower. I love the look of the rod. Very happy with the quality, function, and look of the rod.

The straight shower rod in the kids bath was getting a tiny bit rusty, so I replaced it with this one. This rod fits perfectly in my 5 wide shower. There are little tubes on each end, so this rod should fit if your shower is an inch or two larger than 5. It was easy to install. Since I was replacing an old rod, I didnt need to drill new holes into the wall. The install, including transferring the shower curtain, only took 15 minutes. (I think getting a non-adjustable rod, like this one, is a nice touch. If I had bought an adjustable rod, then there would be a lip in the middle of the rod that the shower curtain rings would catch on.) The curved shower rod provides an extra 6 inches of elbow room, which my kids really like. They claim it makes it feel a bit like a slightly upscale hotel. Even though the bathroom is small, no one has complained about decreased space outside the bath. Lastly, the rod looks very nice! It matches the brushed nickel features in the bath. Pros: Looks great. Extra elbow room in the shower. Easy to install in 5 shower. Non-adjustable, which means curtain rings will not catch Cons: none!
