Didn't make 30,000 hours

Something inside the unit developed a thermal problem where in after around 5-10 minutes it would start rapid flashing off and on, perhaps 40-90 per minute. This was in normal residential service in a stair well with ambient temperatures around 75F, operating perhaps 5 hours per day. Failed a few years after warranty expired. (I've seen this behavior in other Lithonia LED fixtures.)

Bright light

Most people will find installation fairly easy. Because I was installing in a tight space a clothes the plastic cap nuts were hard to get screwed in. Also did not like that they are nylon. They are the only thing holding the fixture in place.

I got this light to replace an old style incandescent light in a closet. The old light was dim and we really needed a much brighter light. The amount of light that this new LED light provides is far superior to the old one. Not only is it brighter but since it is 24 inches long and has a diffuser it provides much more even illumination. My objection to this light is in the installation. There was nothing in the install that was easy. The hole in the center of the mounting plate was small which made it difficult to push the wires back through the hole when the wiring had been completed. The nuts that fasten the light to the mounting plate are very close to the light housing. That makes it had to get your fingers lined up to start the nuts. The instructions say to use a Phillips screw driver but since the head of the nut does not have a Phillips type slot this is not possible. It is too bad that it is so difficult to install this light since the light itself is very nice.

This is a wall mount LED fixture. The light output is adequate provided that the fixture is mounted in an appropriate location. Mounting it on a wall is not my choice of a good location as things (clothes and items on shelves) may block the light. This is, after all, a closet. It is turned on/off by a pull chain so that has to be taken into consideration for the mounting location also. It would be relatively easy to convert it to a wall switch though. If you can pull the wire for an outlet box, you should be able to pull the wire for a wall switch too. The fixture looks good, but I did have trouble removing the plastic diffuser. It is stiff and does not press in easily to remove it. The two small "press here" stickers are barely visible. Once you see how small the locking tabs are, you understand why the diffuser is not more pliable. Installation is straight forward, but the instructions are correct; you may need some assistance in holding the fixture. Because of the fixture's small size, parts of the mounting plate are visible. The plate is painted white to coordinate with the white fixture (not the same shade of white) and is not obtrusive. However, I personally feel the plate's visibility detracts from the appearance after the fixture is mounted, giving it a jury-rigged appearance. Mounting to a switch box mounted sideways would totally hide the box and provide a more permanent and finished appearance to the fixture.

I recommend this fixture because it it very bright. Installing it took a bit longer because there is little room for your fingers to tighten the plastic mounting nut. I would liked to have had standard metal hardware here., possibly with a hex head to use with a socket head screwdriver. (Understand you are up on a ladder, inside a closet, usually with the door header in your face.)

Remolded the Laundry Room for new Washer & Dryer! Had to move ceiling light in laundry room, after putting up new Utility Cabinets! The doors on new utility cabinets wouldn't open or close, couldn't even put doors on the cabinets, because they were hitting the ceiling light! So I had to move the light and was limited to amount of space and size of light! The best option I found was the 24" LED Flushmount Closet Light from Lithonia Lighting from Home Depot! I mounted it over the door! Worked out Great easy to install and gives just the right amount of light! Happy Wife - Happy Life!!!

This light is a hardwire installation, but it was very easy to install, as I had existing wiring in the installation area. The light is lightweight, I was able to tuck it under my arm while I connected the wires. The mounting plate mounts to either an octagonal type box, or a switch box like I used. I just had to move the mounting screws on the plate to be in the right place for the switch box. The light really put out decent light! We're very happy with it, have 2 more for other closets. It's newly installed, so I can't comment on how long it lasts, but LED should go for a long time.

I bought one to put on the ceiling in my closet. I wanted to replace the ugly figure that was just a light bulb with a string to turn on and off. Installation went pretty smoothly although the mounting plate made it a little hard to push the wires back up into the box. When I went to tighten up one of the mounting cap nuts with some pliers the nut fell apart. I didn't even squeeze it hard. It isn't a solid cap nut but a regular nut with a cover stamped on it.

PERFECT product

I bought one of these to install in a closet. I wanted an LED light because I was going to be hard up against insulation. This was the perfect solution. It provides ample light (I'll never actually use the pull-chain) and never heats up. The installation wasn't completely intuitive -- the tiny nuts that hold the light to the frame can be stubborn, and the fit is tight. Likewise, the back-wiring is a little awkward, but fortunately, I used a deep blue box. I was so pleased with it, I bought a second for the cubby space on the other side of the room. I would definitely recommend this light. The price is a bit steep at $40, but when you consider you never have to replace the bulb, I suppose that's worth something.
