Affordable, pretty, cheaply made?

Great price for a generously sized fixture. It arrived quickly with glass intact. We needed every inch of the included down rod, which left only a little wire to work with. (We ended up adding more wire.) We installed two over our dining room table. They look great (the metal is black instead of bronze, but oh well), however when screwing in the final bulb, the shell came right out of the socket. My father in law is an electrician and said it’s not safe to reattach and use this way, so we are taking that fixture down and returning it for a replacement. I’m hoping the other sockets are more secure so we aren’t stuck with bad fixtures in the future. It makes me worry these were cheaply made. We’ll hope for the best!
