This review is for the mailbox I traded up to, NOT the aluminum version. It is pricey but well built. It is large and made with heavy gauge steel. I originally purchased what I thought was a HD aluminum mail box but it was extremely light weight and I think that a baseball bat strike would destroy it instantly so it got returned. I custom cut some dimensional wood which I attached to the bottom of the mail box, attached a 1" pipe flange to that, and then I screwed that onto my 1" pipe post. It looks great and does the trick.

Mailbox is sturdier than my prior on and the door closes securely enough to keep out rain. Very pleased.

I had to order twice because the first one was manufactured in a way that they had to bend out the side front on one side to get around a piece that was cut too long so the front of the mailbox looked bent on one side. The second one arrived dented although the shipping box was not damaged. I would have liked it if they had sent one that was made right and in good shape although the number of holes in the bottom of their mailboxes seem excessive. I assume they do that to accommodate a lot of post configurations, however, I just see it as a way for bugs to get in. I couldn't waste any more of my time reordering and waiting to see if a good one would arrive so I did not try ordering a third time.
