I was looking for something that wood tie into the colors being used in the kitchen yet not to be large due to limited spacing. This island is perfect. It came via UPS and arrived with no damage. All the parts are labeled and the directions are very straight forward. I actually enjoyed putting it together and it went together perfect. The paint smell is apparent when you take the parts out of the box but quickly dissipates. It looks great!

Looks great

I ordered the gray island with the granite top. The color matches my cabinets exactly. The granite top matches my counter tops well enough. That being said...it took my husband about 3.5 hours to assemble. You definitely need 2 people to put the granite top in place as it is very heavy. The island is very sturdy once together..no wobbling as another customer noticed. Since this is a painted item the type of "wood" used is not an issue for me. For the cost, I feel this is a very good value. If you want a solid wood piece of furniture expect to pay 3 to 4 times the price.

Decent island depending on use

Let me start by saying that this island looks really nice when it is put together. In that respect, you will not be disappointed. Some reviews state that there are big stickers on the island, I did not have this issue at all. The manufacturer either corrected the issue or I got lucky. There was only one logo embedded on the one drawer side of the cabinet. You are not able to remove it, but it is on the inside of the drawer...so it didn't make a difference to me. If it were on the outside, I would have returned it immediately.

MIXED EMOTIONS... Beautiful but poorly thought out

When my fiance and I received the island in the mail, we were insanely excited. We put it together and LOVED the way it looked. It took about 2 hours to assemble but we thought it was worth it. HOWEVER.... When I was taking off the stickers on the island, I noticed two HUGE stickers on the back panel of the island. I tried to peel it off but quickly realized they were not stickers you could remove easily. I thought to myself.. "did we put this piece on backwards?". BUT NO. We had it the right way (the only way) and I had no choice but to try to scrape it off (I used a sharp razor but did not want to apply any cleaning solutions to a fresh, new island in case I damaged it more). I wouldn't be upset about this normally but the fact that my island now looks horrible from one side, I am very disappointed. There is left over sticky substance and now paint is scratched off. WHY WOULDN'T THEY PUT THE STICKERS ON THE INSIDE OF THE ISLAND AND NOT THE VERY VISIBLE BACK SIDE?! IT IS AN ISLAND.... it's supposed to be accessed from all sides. Ugh... annoyed.

Pros: #1 Price with a % off was a good deal #2. I needed something to fill a wall space / gap I had. I have plenty of storage and large granite counter, so instead of installing a heavy piece of furniture I thought this was an inexpensive and practical option. I can wheel it out and use it in back yard patio or if I have a formal dinner, I can use it to make custom wacamole (like they do at restaurants) and I am able to display my nice Nambe items instead of them being hidden in shelves. Cons: #1 not easy to install, one item was not labeled with a letter, took 2 hours with unpacking and cleaning #3 Item has a ton of tiny nicks everywhere, since I bought black I can touch those up #4 missing parts (see pictures) I will call OS to see if I can get them. Basically only 3 pins are holding the top, two holes were missing plastic insert that holds the pins tight in place. #5 Stainless steel looks brown on corners, almost like burnt color (rust?) and just has a lot of sand paper like scratches, I am wondering if the wood top was a better option? In theory the metal color looks great from a distance with the over all look of my kitchen, its just when you are up front and close. ****Update: OS sent me a replacement top and this one was perfect, this top came in a sealed proof cover, my original metal top did not, just came in a box with foam and plastic bag, this made a difference*****
