Not for eggs

Very disappointed with the pan. Eggs stick and turn into a mess. I wanted to use it for eggs. Don’t believe other reviews that say otherwise.

Buy it once, it'll last you a lifetime.

I absolutely love All-Clad D5 stainless-steel cookware and added this versatile skillet to my collection as it's the most popular size/shape. You cannot go wrong with All-Clad D5 stainless-steel because it performs so well. It's lightweight, has a comfortable handle, is naturally non-stick, can go from stovetop to oven, and is dishwasher safe. I have other All-Clad stainless-steel cookware that is at least 25 years old, and it looks just as nice as this brand new one. I would much rather spend the money and buy something of this quality, knowing that it'll last a lifetime, than to buy a less expensive one knowing it'll need to be replaced eventually. If you're trying to decide whether to buy this, go ahead and take the plunge! You'll be glad you did!

Amazing All-Clad Stainless Steel Fry Pan

Amazing pan! Truly "professional", great conductor of heat and absolutely perfect for my new induction stove. All-Clad definitely stands for quality.

The Original and The Best!

Overall, a very high quality tool that works perfectly and with the right know-how is easy to clean (food stains- use sodium bicarbonate and water, hard water stains/rainbow stains- use white vinegar). Once you get used to the little bit of extra attention to detail in cleaning and preheating required- it becomes very much all part of the fun. I cannot speak for the D3 line, but this D5 pan retains heat extremely well and is very easy to control. You'd really have to be doing something wrong to burn anything in this pan. It puts the most beautiful crust on meat and fish and makes it easy to estimate when meat is cooked or ready to flip. Adding meat into the pan, initially it will stick- but after a few minutes, giving the pan a shake, it will release fully- essentially telling you when the food is ready to be flipped! Education is everything with these pans, and once you learn, they really do make you much more involved in the cooking process and aware of the underlying science of it. The 12 inch pan is the perfect size for up to 3 large steaks/chicken breasts, with high enough sides to create beautiful pan sauces with ease. The angle at which the sides meet the cooking surface make the pan perfect for tossing when sautéing, yet keeping space in the pan maximised. I like the design of the handle, but like others, I too have found it a little awkward to get a comfortable grip. It's best to try to use a palm-up grip. Once you do, it becomes very controllable and in my opinion, the way these handles were designed to be held. The brushed finish is very beautiful and will age better than the polished finish- likely turning satin after years of use. Be aware this is a heavy pan! To me, that means quality and durability and makes it feel all-the-more special to use, but others may struggle with the weight and the heat-controlability benefits of extra steel layer in the core may not be worth the weight. It comes in a large box that you won't want to throw away. Yes, it's expensive, but that's the cost of owning the best!

Great Pan!

Love this pan. I believe stainless steel is healthier choice.

Great pan also... but

Love this pan but rim is rough. Compared to the 10" pan I bought together with this 12" - the smaller pan rim is polished and smooth.

A Kitchen Essential

The 10” All-Clad frying pan is truly a kitchen essential. Along with the smaller pan, it’s all you need.

A Thumbs-up for Fellow Induction Users

After previously getting burned by a stainless All-Clad product that their website (and product packaging) explicitly stated was induction-compatible but which was, in fact, absolutely not induction-compatible (as I and many other angry online reviewers learned, but were not able to get refunded), I felt somewhat foolish about giving All Clad another try. But I really, really love my nonstick All Clad and wanted to have a 5-ply stainless version of my go-to/daily-use 10" nonstick fry pan.

Lovin it

Good quality pan - good weight, handle isn't too heavy (we've had some where they kind of tip over if not full), nonstick if you know how to cook with a stainless steel properly. Love it so far!

10 years later—I still buy all-clad

I’ve tried every high quality non-stick pan out there but nothing works as well as my William Sonoma stainless steel cookware. Now I have this cute little pan and my kids love it!

Great line of cookware.

As with anything All-Clad the quality is top notch. This is my 2nd D5 Pan, can't go wrong with these. Buy the right thing once, with only basic care these will last a lifetime.

D5 fry pan quick review

Once you get over the learning curve, these are extremely well built, versatile, high performing pans. Thus far have cooked a range of foods on this pan from eggs (no sticking issues) and steaks (perfect browning). Expensive cookware but you really do pay for what you get in this case.

Disappointed

Disappointing pan in every way. With butter or oil, food sticks. Eggs, mushrooms, peppers- they stick, regardless of oil used. Do not recommend.
