I sent back cause it wouldn’t work for my needs and was never credited for it. I feel ripped off.

Bad Design and Bad Instructions!

My biggest complaint are the instructions for the valve differ from the trim kit. The instructions for the valve says "Leave the blue plaster guard in place." I did that, and the tile installer cut a perfect holder around it. The problem is the plaster guard is 2 1/2" round, and the trim for the handle is 2 3/4"!!!! Even with a perfect cut, there is no room for the trim. Consequently, there was a gap in the trim. I had to have the tiler knock out that tile, and redo it on my perfectly tiled shower! The trim kit doesn't say how big a hole to cut, but it does show a picture that is a little bigger that the valve stem diameter. I called American Standard direct to see if there was a bigger trim piece, but they said no, and were not will to help. Another issue is the diverter valve has no stop positions. I just spins round and round. Since it s a 3 way valve, I think it should should be normal in the mid position for the shower to be on, go to a stop for the handheld shower, and go to the stop in the other direction for both the shower and handheld.

Plumbing skill

If you have absolutely no plumbing knowledge, find a freeing to give you advise as to plumbing the diverter. There’s only 1 input for hot and cold and the needed 2 outlets for tub and shower. The outlets are identified for easy directives.
