This is an excellent product on its own . How ever it is change in design that 1/4 inch or so off from the one originally used by 1980 cabinet makers. It’s beefier and more protruding with its bigger hinge. I had to modify the hamper with a clear it in place.

Perfect fit

I wasn't sure I would find a replacement that would line up with the old hinges. These were almost an identical match to the 50 year old hinges I replaced. The problem i had was I couldn't find a hinge to match the screw hole distance on the door side. Tha majority of new hinges had a 1/2 inch space and i needed 3/8.

The best hinges that fit the requirements

There is another similar hinge from the same mfg that does not show the white plastic block (brake?) on the outside of the hinge, but the screw holes did not align with my existing holes from 1981. I sent them back and got these. My cabinets are now white, so the white block doesn't stick out like a sore thumb, but it would if the cabinets were another color. The build quality also does not match the original 1981 made hinges, these being stamped metal and the originals being heavier cast metal. But its the best I could find that fit my needs.

I purchased these hinges to replace existing hinges. The pattern of the screw holes did not match that of other, standard 3/8" offset hinges. I had to return them.

Hinges needed adjustment.

While these hinges look good and all the holes line up with the originals they were meant to replace, fit up was an issue. On a single door opening, they were fine. But on an opening with two matting doors, the doors hit each other when closed. This necessitated bending the hinges which is much easier said than done. This is the second time I have ordered this style hinge and had this problem both times.

Perfect replacements

Exactly what I was looking for to replace the old cabinet hinges in our bathroom. These look nice and have held up quite well for the last several months. The finish was slightly cooler than in the picture, but was the precise one I was looking for.

Inexact fit

They look to be the same size as the ones we have but when replacing old ones they don’t fit exactly and hit each other when working on a double doors. Very difficult.

Because of the self close this hinge doesn't sit flat against the surface unless you prop the spring tension open a little bit. It was hell to install after patching the holes from the old hinges. Nne of the screw heads broke off while installing and I had to move the hinges. When I got to the very end, after correcting everything, the last tightening on the last screw, that screw head broke off also. Thankfully it's the bottom screw on the bottom hinge, so I'm going to glue that screw head into the hole and pretend like everything is fine.

the metal on these hinges are soft . they can bend under the weight of bigger doors and no none of my cabinet doors were any bigger than 21" x 30" i got the job done but had to apply pressure here and there to get proper alignment . these were old cabinets but old hinges were far more rigid.

The Inset Self Closing Face Mount Polished Chromed Hinges are well made and have a nice finish. They were purchased to replace some antique brass hinges in a DYI project to refinish bath cabinets. I would recommend this product to family and friends.

This hinge is still set too wide for my cabinets. The diagrams are deceiving in how much space the hinge width actually takes up. I’m in need of one where the mounts are the same but the hinge is set closer.
