I am a Commercial Painting Contractor. These locks are replacements for my house. I had the other style, but I am familiar with this style. So, now that I am renovating, after 35 years, one room at a time, and need to replace most hardware, I decided to go with this style. They seem to be more tamper proof than the more common style of window lock. I don't like, in your face, shiny hardware, and I really like the look of this antique brass with the natural wood woodwork in my house. I do recommend this style window lock.

For the price, finish is OK but the latches are nowhere near as solid as my original 50-year-old ones (no surprise there). I'd be reluctant to use these on any window that might be subject to a "quiet" break-in attempt - either by brute force or with a pry bar!Also, it may take some fiddling to get the locks to engage properly, mostly because the (back) clasp piece is too small and because windows settle over time.

Had all the windows reglazed, primed and painted...so felt new...

Had all the windows reglazed, primed and painted...so felt new hardware was needed. This fit the style and color of the old locks. Fit and function are perfect.
