Check the height firsr

Sturdy yet light. I forgot to check the height of it before i purchase so it's on me. I was looking for taller one. But I'm keeping it for my daughter. #sweepstakes

DO NOT BUY

This came with no holes for the screws. Not one! The pictures in the instructions show all the holes but none were drilled into the bookcase. I had no way of returning this so I had to work with it. I had to drill my own holes into this and it took me 3 HOURS to put together. The manufacturer should be ashamed of themselves! Not only that, but one of the shelves had a whole piece broke off! So poor packing as well. I'm afraid this whole thing is going to fall apart one day because I don't know if I did a good enough job at drilling the holes. There are gaps between the shelves and the ends and I didn't even bother to drill holes in the top piece. By that step, I was too tired and didn't care if the top piece was attached or not. DO NOT BUY!!!

A Challenge

I'm sure the bookshelf will fulfill it's purpose nicely. If you can manage to assemble it. The shelves are held to the vertical sides via dowels and screws. The screws are right under the shelves making it almost impossible to drive them into the wood. Which brings up a second point, there are no pilot holes in the wood for the screws. I drilled them out, but since the screws were so inaccessible, I decided just to glue the whole thing. Which was another challenge all on it's own. I wouldn't have bought this if I knew.

Looks pretty

I never looked at the dimensions but by looking at the furniture in the picture, it looked bigger. I was shocked by it being kinda small. One of the shelves completely cracked, split all across. There's nothing heavy on the shelf. It looks pretty.

Only a Fancy book case

I bought this thinking it was a sturdy book case but it's not sturdy and very fragile. Can't place art deco or too many items since it's rickety And no I tightened all the screws especially since I had to drill holes into the frame. Instructions didn't even tell you that you needed a drill

Beautiful and spacious bookcase

This was a birthday gift for my son who was in desperate need of a bookcase. He absolutely loves it! Quality material and it was easy to assemble.

No stars here

Very disappointed. Thought it would be nicer. Looks good but self cracked after the first week. Do not understand as that shelf had only 4 books. Other selfs had many more and are not splitting.

Worth it!

Good quality for the price! Matches perfectly with the rest of my office furniture!

45 degree angled screw driver required.

You need an angled screw driver or drill (pilot holes). The wooden dowels do not fit some of there holes, buy some glue. Stable from front to back, but side to side is rocky (4 bars of wood for the back of the each shelf).

Good buy

Excellent quality. Smaller than expected. But, I didn't pay attention to dimensions. That's on me.

Difficult assembly, but a good finished product

I agree with the other reviewers who found assembly difficult. There are a lot of screws to put in, and often it's hard to get a good angle for the screwdriver. I found that drilling the holes with a 1/8 bit was the only way to get the screws in tight. The finished product is quite nice-looking and fairly solid, though there's still a slight side-to-side wobbliness. If you're putting much weight on these, it might be best to tack some sort of panel across the back to hold everything rigid.

Returned it- Impossible to Assemble

Had to return this. Almost all of our furniture is build-it-yourself, so I’m a pro at weird assembly. This one was just impossible and the first time I’ve ever given up on something. The screw holes are set way back and none of the five screwdrivers I own would fit into the tiny offset nooks where they needed to fit. Bummed because the pieces looked quality and gave it several attempts, but just could not get it to go together.

Impossible to Assemble

I've assembled almost all of the furniture that we own and this shelf has me stumped. None of my five hand screwdrivers will fit into the space that is available (the handles are wider than the space to turn them in). There are no pilot holes pre-drilled for the screws, and it specifically says not to use power tools. Not sure this will ever be assembled unless I buy a special tiny-handled screwdriver. Love the design, but it either needs to come with its own tool for assembly, or a better way to attach the shelves.

I would buy this again.

It's good for displaying nick-knacks or filling a corner. Only thing was that the pre-drilled holes were not all aligned well.

I would not get this again

The design, color and wood texture of the shelf is beautiful. That is why I gave it three stars. But of the many pieces of furniture I have assembled over the years, this has to be the absolute worst. There were holes in the shelf pieces for the wood dowels. But no hole into which to insert the screws. I tried to turn the screws into the wood without starter holes, but it was impossible. I ended up using a drill to make the holes for the screws. Also, on one of the sections, there was a blemish on the wood. When it was all put together, it looked beautiful. However, it is not a steady, firm-standing bookshelf, Instead it easily wobbles. I would have taken it back, but it served it possible for what I needed.

I am happy with how this bookcase looks; it's a fair representation of what I saw on the screen. However, you should have two people to assemble it. It is almost impossible to do alone, and the instructions are simple line drawings that offer no tips on how to best knit both sides together. They want to go opposite directions as you progress!

Perfect for what I was looking for. however none of the holes were pre drilled so it was difficult to assemble
