This is a very high quality unit !! Its not antiqued as much as the website pictures show but you can hit it with some light sandpaper on the edges. still very nice! Understand ALL assembly required though!

Packaged nicely, not too difficult to put together, however much easier with a second person to assist. Definitely need a second person when you get to the top, but even the rest was much easier with a second person. Took us probably 3 hours to get it all together. Looks great!

Great product. Made with quality materials and looks fantastic. Assembly was a breeze. This is a heavy duty high quality island with a beautiful granite top.

I am extremely pleased with this Kitchen Island. All the pieces were delivered and no pieces were damaged. You do need 2 people when attaching the top and moving it.

I can’t give a fair review at this time. I liked the looks of this island but I wanted one that rolled with looks. My husband and I have given up on putting it together. We completed the first 3 steps then moved the island onto its side to do the next step and all the cam bolt locks fell out and pieces fell off. I have now hired someone to come to assemble it for us.

Really nice product!

I purchased this about 4 years ago and have been quite pleased. When it first arrived I unboxed it and the granite top was cracked. A phone call to them resulted in them sending out a replacement top immediately. They took my word for it and did not ask for its return or pictures of the cracked top. I call that EXCELLENT customer service. It is a nice looking piece and is well constructed and a solid, heavy piece of furniture. The only modification I've done to it is to install an outlet on the end to plug in a coffee maker, blender, etc. Highly recommended!

Beautiful

The whole family loves the island! Wasn’t too hard to put together. Husband put it together in 1.5 hours so not too bad! It is exactly what I was looking for. The only thing is the color isn’t true white but more of a cream color. Still is very beautiful. I changed the knob color to dark gray and the granite is top notch. Very well made island!

Great purchase, beautiful addition to any kitchen......

This a beautiful kitchen island. Easy to build an perfect laid out direction to follow. Takes about 2hrs to build, but once put together, the look is awesome. Don't let the cam locks torment you. Just install the the pins as straight as possible, put pieces together then install the cam locks. Very nice hardwood an perfect antique white as stated..... Well pleased....

The Island I Always Knew I Needed

The Monarch kitchen island by homestyles is amazing! It was easy to put together (about two hours total, with two adults), and after more than 3-years, it still looks as good as the day we got it, which is impressive considering I have small children - so it's opened countless times each day. The slide-out legs and drop leaf make it easy to come up with extra seating when needed, and the top is a solid wood so it is easy-to-clean, and durable for buffet-style serving.

Lovely when finished.

Very pretty. But requires 2 people and much patience to assemble. I agree with the other reviewers that the piece that holds the magnets that the two doors attach too is insufficient ( I wish I knew what it was called). We are going to have to have someone come in and professionally repair that piece as the parts that came with it just do not hold. I saw that comment in the reviews and they are totally correct and the issue should be addressed by the manufacturer. It is a nice piece. Very heavy to assemble, especially putting the top on. Niece when finished though!

Love it, but had issues

I waited some time to purchase this item due to the price. I'm from the old school of solid wood furniture and felt the amount was a bit high for not being all wood. It eventually went on sale, so I purchased it. The delivery time was longer due to after buying it, I received an email stating it was on backorder. Finally received the item, put it together, (not that hard, just heavy) and was a bit disappointed that the left front door, and the right front drawer did not line up properly, and there is a gap. The door hinges, and drawer slides are pre-installed, so you'd think they'd fit, but no. I will eventually try to adjust them so the gaps do not appear so wide. This should be corrected prior to sending it out. On a good note, it has a very appealing look, and will help with extra room for storage and counter space. I'd probably give this a go ahead for others to purchase, but I'd be able to be more certain of that once I see if the gaps can be adjusted.

Don't think twice...great purchase

Beautiful Kitchen Island, better than expected. Easy to put together, did it by myself with the exception of assistance with lifting the granite top and putting into place. Wish it had paper towel rack options. I can buy and mount, but I don't want to put holes in the side of the cabinet. I purchased over the door holder instead.

Good looking piece, assembly a bit challenging

Arrived on time and very well packaged.It took my husband and I an afternoon to put it together. Some parts were challenging as we had some alignment issues when putting the drawers but we made some adjustments and the drawers closed properly.The next day my husband went to pull out of the legs holding the folding top and the stopper popped and the ball bearing system broke. Because we do not want to go thru the hassle of taking the whole thing apart to fix it, we are keeping the folding part upright. Good looking piece after all and looks exactly as shown in the picture and exactly what we needed for the space we had. Would have given a couple more stars if the leg stopper did not break.

Island Kitchen

This island matches the table and chairs I bought for the kitchen by Home Styles - their Monarch design line. It arrives FAST in three packages - VERY heavy - and is packaged very well. It took about 90 minutes to assemble. I would have given it 5 stars except the top drawer and bottom cupboard door are noticeably out of alignment and definitely needed adjustments on both. The cupboard door (left) had to be shimmed otherwise it is crooked and almost looks smaller than the other cupboard door, revealing the magnetic catch as compared to the other side. Also, the drawer glider had to be lowered (on the left side) in order for the drawer to slide in and out properly. Otherwise, it gets stuck. One other thing is that the finish is more of a satin or "flat" rather than glossy which feels a little rough to the touch but this could be part of the design of it being distressed/antiqued. I love the "worm holes" that were added to give it that look. With regard to the finish, the concern would be how well it will repel stains while doing food prep. The granite top is gorgeous. The design concept is unique in that the rear legs slide out to accommodate the drop-leaf for sitting on bar-stools like a snack bar. These are simply my observations, pros/cons.
