Reduced Flow Takes Getting Used To

Relatively satisfied with the filter. The installation was easy and the unit has remained leak free. Our cold water pressure is probably half of what it was before installing the filter. I expected some loss of pressure based on other reviews, but it's more significant than I imagined it would be.

Useless Product

I have had this product for about a year and am on my 4th filter. The flow rate has been reasonable, not great, with only one of those filters. One was barely tolerable, two were unusable after only a few weeks. There are no issues with the hose, connections or kinks. Its the filter which seems to have major quality control issues given it is the only variable with each change. We are on city water and the average hardness has not changed.

Great Filter!

This filter is what we needed. I like the fact that it removes harmful contaminants in our water. The installation was straightforward. Just review the installation instructions, measure the area around the filter placement to make sure you have enough clearance. Use the supplied template to accurately drill the mounting holes for the filter head and brackets (if required). Carefully install the supplied plastic water adapter to the cold water supply pipe, being very careful not to cross thread it (easy to do if not careful). The two supplied water hoses easily pop into the adapter and into the filter head (double check that the hose bottoms out properly into the fittings to avoid any leaks). Ensure the hoses are correctly placed concerning the inlet and outlet to the filter. After installation, and checking for any leaks, you are ready to enjoy clean, contaminant free water directly from your tap!

Easy to install. Taste id excellent.

Installation was very easy. I did it horizontally. As it was easier and had more room to manipulate. I think they should provide the template with holes in the template to make it

Happy with my purchase

I do like this filter! I had to have a plumber install it as I'm not comfortable with my own abilities. The pressure is lighter but not terribly so. What I didn't realize when I bought is that I will need to add trace minerals back to my water, not a huge deal I just bought some on Amazon and add to my drinking water.

Easy Product All Around

Filter install was extremely easy. Connectors work well and no leaks on the first try! We haven't had it long enough to replace but it's basically a twist on/off system so will probably take 30 seconds. Filtration works well and we can no longer smell any chlorine in our water which is a huge plus! The water flow does seem to be impacted but we also have low water pressure so that might be why.

Pretty simple installation, minor caveats

First, one bit of good news I had to find out by emailing customer support: you don't actually have to screw anything into your cabinet walls, you can just lay the thing down below the sink. So that knocked off the only part of the installation process that had been stressing me out, right there. Beyond that, installation was relatively painless, but I did have to learn the hard way that I hadn't inserted the tubes into the connectors deeply enough, so do push hard, and re-open the water gently. (That's what they're talking about in the manual with marking the tubing, I think; that half-inch distance they tell you to mark it at is how far you're supposed to push it into the connector, PAST the first point that feels like a natural stopping point.) My one complaint is that the threading for the connector that goes into your water line doesn't pivot freely like most connectors like this, so the direction that the tubes will wind up facing could turn out to be something inconvenient (I tried stopping tightening it sooner to get it facing the direction that I preferred, and wound up with water spraying out; luckily, the angle that it reached full tightness at DID still wind up being something workable, but it would have been frustrating if that hadn't worked out...) So in all, not a terribly difficult installation process, but still a little frustrating. It's also worth bearing in mind that it WILL reduce the amount of water pressure coming out of your tap, but not that drastically (and you can still switch to hot water if you ever need the pressure for something). Aside from that, the water tastes fine, and this is enormously more convenient than waiting for water to drip through my old pitcher. I only installed it today, so I can't comment on longevity.

Great filter to hook up to our new Krauss faucet

The plumber had an easy time hooking up the filter under the sink in a vertical position. He said it was a great choice to pair with the faucet. We got rid of our filter pitcher by adding a faucet that has a second separate filtered water dispenser in a single faucet. This was the filter setup aquasana recommended since we were installing with our own faucet. Very happy so far. It looks like the filter change in 6 months should be simple and straightforward.

Great under the counter filter.

We have had a great experience with our under counter water filter. Super easy installation that was very straightforward. Our older under counter water filter was not cutting it for the amount of junk coming out of our tap. At this time we can’t afford a whole house filter, when we do we will definitely use Aquasana. The filter has made our water taste so much better. Even our dogs are drinking more and are so happy with there water.

Review

The installation was more challenging than expected due to small space under the sink. The total cost for installation was more than what I paid for the system since I purchased it with a discount. Overall like it and have a peace of mind. At times the water taste different than I thought it would.

Aquasana has known leaking issues

I bought this because aquasana is one of the few water filtration companies that is certified for removing lead and many other contaminants. I have a child and can't take any risks with the water supply. However, I can't tell if the filter is any good because the cheap plastic fittings are the worst. Had to send the first plastic adaptor back as it was defective and kept leaking water. Got a replacement sent and although it worked at first, it also started leaking a few days later. It's a good thing I was checking regularly otherwise the water could have accumulated and done a lot of damage. Just google "Aquasana class action lawsuit investigation" to see that there have been many problems with their cheap plastic quick connect fittings leaking and causing massive damage to people's homes. I called them and found out that you can't even pay extra to upgrade to metal fittings. They just don't have any other solution than getting another potentially defective piece and trusting that their cheap adaptors won't start leaking at 2am and cause a bunch of damage. So I guess I or my plumber has to go searching for compatible metal fittings, or have some very expensive useless clutter under my sink. I will never buy an aquasana device again.

Easy installation and alternative to countertop

I recently moved to a new apartment and had the countertop model but I could not connect to my sink faucet. So I called Aqusana for assistance as I did the last time this happened when I moved. I was immediately informed that this model was discontinued but I could still buy the filters. No help with connecting the unit to my faucet and told good luck. In the past this was not the case. So I asked to speak to someone else. I got another person that said they had some connecting parts still in stocks that I could try. I asked why the company was not promoting a replacement for the countertop model. She didn't have an answer but revealed she lived in an apartment and had this model and told me it was easy to install without drilling any holes and used my existing faucet. OK. And the unit is on sale and you can still be in the water for life program. I was also told if I needed assistance I could schedule a video call for support. I bought this unit which too ten minutes to install using a YouTube video and it works great. It will stand on its own without drilling holes. I laid it down for a while but got some leakage but standing no leakage. I have read other reviews about the decline in customer service for this company which I have been a customer of for probably 18 years. I don't blame the customer service representatives but the company. They need to train their people and work on promoting their products rather than resting on their reputation. If you discontinue an item have an alternative. They didn't seem to care if they kept my business. I am very satisfied that I can live in an apartment and have an under the sink model that uses my existing faucet. And I can a higher capacity water flow. The water tastes better and I can fill up water bottles and pet bowls more quickly.

Works as advertised

I bought this filter to replace a Pur filter (pitcher) with lead reduction. The installation was straightforward (took a plumber about half an hour). The water pressure decrease was minimal, and the water quality was good. It was less metallic tasting than tap water, and I couldn't find a taste difference between the pitcher and the water from this filter. Seems to work exactly as they advertised.

Excellent filter

I have installed and used this filter for two weeks and I am very happy with it. The trick is getting it installed in a small cabinet under the sink. The tubing is stiff and doesn't bend easily. On my first attempt the tubing was going into the water line port at a slight angle so it sprayed water. My advice is to make sure the tubing goes straight into the ports solidly and without an angle. I used the right angle adapters (designed for the manifold of the filter) into the dual port and it worked perfectly. Because they only give you two adapters I didn't have them for the manifold but Aquasana was kind enough to send me two more at no cost. The filter will reduce the flow to about 2/3 of the normal flow but since I use it for eating and drinking that wasn't important. I use the hot side for washing dishes. It gives me peace of mind knowing that the water that comes out of my well, in an agricultural rural area, is pure and free of pesticides, herbicides and other groundwater chemicals such as PSOS. Highly recommended!

Good Product Easy Installation - Not recommended

Installation was super easy. The instructions are clear. The price was fair and free shipping to Canada seems like a steal. The only reason I am not recommending this is because there are substantial hidden costs If you are ordering from Canada. The shipping is free but they don't charge taxes upfront so when they ship through UPS there is a brokerage fee to clear customs for the tax component. For $20 worth of tax UPS charged me a fee of $60. This will also be the case when ordering replacement filters. So yeah this is not viable. Filters costs $70 and hidden charges will be another $50-60 each time. This won't be an issue if Aquasana charged taxes upfront or have an authorized dealer here .

Filtered water right out of the faucet!

I purchased this on the recommendation of Wirecutter as I was looking for an alternative to plastic pitcher filters. I did not want to change my faucet & this sounded good. I gave 4 stars as installation was a little tricky due to having multiple hookups to contend with. We installed it horizontally as we did not have enough space for a vertical installation. It has been working great and it is so nice to have filtered water out of the tap. Highly recommend.

Rather have the adapter in metal...

I particularly do not enjoy slow water flow and I drink from any faucet since I was a kid, so I don't care... but since wife wanted a filter, wife got a filter.

Excellent

We installed the filter to our kitchen sink. The install was fairly easy, needed a couple tools but only took 10-15 minutes. We laid it down on the cupboard floor under the sink for easy access when it needs replacement filters. It takes up some room and needed to rearrange the stuff we keep under the sink, but overall is convenient. We had been using an aquasana system that sits on top of the counter and takes up so much space so this under the sink hookup is much better

Perfect for our house!

This filter is great because it allows us to have filtered water direct from our tap's cold line. Filling pots or a kettle with filtered water is easier and faster than ever. No noticeable impact to our water pressure! And it's so much cheaper than a whole house filter, which was the main selling point for us.

Great Product, Great Price!

I added this filter setup to my cold water inlet back in 2021, because our town water tasted disgusting and had so much stuff floating around in it.
