Just what I needed

I’ve been wanting to have a heater that I could adjust the temperature. But, they were always too long. This one fits perfectly in my smaller aquariums and the temp stays true to its setting. Bought 3 and am very pleased!

Broke after a month

Worked great for about 37 days then stopped heating. 300W in a 100 gallon system. Would not recommend.

Don’t Buy

I brought this product a few days ago placed in a 5.5 gallon tank. DOES NOT work. The labeling says preset to 78 degrees but my tank hasn’t reached above 72 degrees. Terrible product.

Warranty

I had mine a few years when the heating element must have gone out. I sent it back to aqueon and they replaced it no questions.

I wish it had a longer life for me

I really liked this heater for the short time it worked-- about 4 months. I sized up in the wattage compared to my tank size with the intention not to overwork the heater to maintain the right temperature in the tank. This morning I found the tank temperature had dropped by 20 degrees (!) and the heater wasn't working. I'm going to try a different brand next and hopefully the heating element holds up longer.

Does not work well

I’ve had these heaters in the tanks for one week now (the recommended heaters for my tank size) and every time I’ve checked the water temperature it is only a few degrees higher than room temperature rather than the 10 degrees that the box claims to raise it. I can’t blame it on a faulty heater since it’s 2 heaters in different tanks. If you have to use this brand, get a higher wattage than recommended. I would rather take these back and get a more expensive heater with better reviews instead.

I'm melting, melting, melting.

This thing is melting. Room temperature water will not kill tropical fish. At the store, they didn't use any heater. So why buy heater? Some of the other heaters shocked me.... as if I was being electrocuted. Aquarium heaters are dangerous.

Works like a charm

Even though it was installed only 2 weeks ago, it is performing very well. I like the option to set the temperature rather than the preset heaters (which was what I had prior bc it came with the aquarium set-up). Those tend to be less accurate and unreliable in my experience.

Cooked my fish

Set the heater at 72 when I went to bed and when I woke up it was at 85!!!! Unplugged it immediately but I lost almost my entire 20 gallon tank. Only survivor is the betta:(

Good heater

It is a perfect size for my 5.5 gallon aquarium size, and keeps a constant temperature for my beta fish.

I have a 10 gallon fish tank and this heater is perfect. I do like the fact its temperature adjustment and it's shatter proof. Whether you're a beginner or have been keeping fish for years, this heater is within budget and it has a warranty. I have had mine since the beginning of the summer and I have no complaints.

not for big tanks

I had to buy a second heater for my 55 gallon tank because it didn’t adequately heat. I’m sure if would be ok for small tanks though.

Great heater

Best heater I’ve ever used and I’ve tried many! Use the 50 watt for a 20 gallon long Betta tank. Keeps water at perfect 79 degrees.

Not Heating

I bought this heater 3 months ago and it continues to shut off. I have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to work. It will work for a few hours and shuts off leaving my tank freezing.

only worked for two days

This is by far the worst heater I have ever invested in. I placed it in a 75 gallon saltwater aquarium two days ago checked this morning and it is completely full of water and has put toxic chemicals inside of my salt water tank killing all fish. Do not buy!!
