A super long story with over a month of problems from the manufacturer and missing parts. With not just one but 2 delivered to my house. In the end got a Traeger!

Pellet smoker grill

I finally had my pellet smoker grill delivered today. There was a major problem though. Both boxes contained the pellet part and I have no grill.

Be prepared to fight and argue trying to assemble

Okay so we have spent the last 3 hours fighting, arguing, and cursing because the assembly instructions for this thing are horrible!! Even if it works great, I would not purchase this thing because of that! There are 2 long white wires that go to lights in the top of the hood and where they connect to is anybody's guess. So, we just left them unconnected. There is virtually no assembly videos on the internet to view. I only found one and it was at the end of a long vid and in fast forward and it did not show where the light wires connect.

Terrible wood pellet grill and customer support

I decided to try this one out instead of a Traegar which I've owned for 10 years. What a mistake. After delivery of product, it took over 4 hours to assemble. That's way too much time to assemble a product like this and I'm very technically inclined, so I'm able to figure the thing out but the instruction manual was horrible with the steps being unclear and the parts not listed clearly. The grill came partially assembled from the factory, but I discovered it was incorrectly assembled in the factory. After quite a bit of instruction manual review I had to pull it apart to make sure the hopper could fit in correctly, because a part that came from the factory was installed incorrectly. Once I was done, I fired the grill up and put on my 3-2-1 ribs, which burnt because the temp wasn't regulated. It ruined a family gathering we had because all the meat was burnt and no good to eat. After that fiasco, I tried burning the grill in, but to no avail. This is something I found online to try. The problem was It wouldn't regulate the temperature it was set at, and just go to a high temp despite it whatever temperature it was set at. I called, emailed, and tried chating with support. They took over a week to get back to me. Finally they sent a part for replacement. The part came with no instructions, but I was able to figure it out easily. With the replacement part installed, the issue still is not resolved. I don't want to wait another several weeks for support to get back to me, so I'm returning this stupid product!

Temperature too HOTTTT!!!

Got this grill for my husband, got it put together, and the first time trying it out, temperature is all over the place. On smoke, temp is over 300 degrees. It goes down, then right back up. Tried it on 200 degrees, and it goes over 370 degrees.. I don’t know what is wrong with this grill??? Will be returning it!

The only problem I had was that the ash guide was installed backwards from the factory and I had to take it apart and reinstall it properly. Other than that it's a great grill. The price was also excellent.

Save yourself. Waste of time and money.

I read the reviews and knew it was going to take a long time to put together. I was accepting of that because a few hours of work seemed to still be good value. I was wrong. Running it is terrible. The actual temperature of the grill fluctuates a lot. With it set to 200 degrees, the actual temp is over 300. Set to 250, it's burning at almost 400 degrees. Can't get it below 280 degrees, even on the lowest setting "smoke/180 degrees". Dreading the time I'll spend disassembling it.

Regret buying this grill. Will be making a return this week with it. At first it would not turn on. After looking through wires I got it to come on. Tried using it, it wouldn't heat up just faults out. Junk...

Don't work

This takes about 3 hours to assemble. The instructions lack parts that need to go in. They literally are not on the parts list or in the guide. Been in construction for 40 years and very handy with things and it took me 3 hours. Then it don't work. The ignitor doesn't work. It comes in 2 large boxes so very heavy. I contacted Asmoke and they said the ignitor was not a stock item so they had to order one and couldn't tell me when I'd get it. They said they would send a new circuit board as well and it was in stock and it would take 10 days for them to process it. I'd pass on this one

instructions bad

Instructions are rediculous. Very poor wording in some cases. Instructions were incomplete with some parts not even covered. At this time I haven’t completed assembly but wish I never bought it. Wish I had ordered a larger smoker that had free assembly and delivery. Just hope that it works when assembled.

Don’t bother

Bought this last year and after the complex directions, got it set up. It worked fine the first time, by the second time it was already getting quirky and on the third use, the auger stopped working. I reached out to the manufacturer and Home Depot. Both offered to replace the motor. After a month, I got two pieces in the mail with no directions (I see no way to get in that area of the grill anyways). So I gave up. Pretty much paid to use this twice. Avoid and just get the Traeger.

Smokes well

The Good: Smokes nicely, Easy to move, large hopper, large burn pit, Easy to use operation panel. Holds temperature decently. Easy ash cleanout.

2nd time is a charm (mostly) but product support lacking

5 stars for initial startup once grill assembled.1 star for Asmoke product support and horrible assembly instructions, but at least it came with something unlike other reviewers.Unknown stars for smoking/grilling as I hadn't had the opportunity to use it yet but looks promising.1st unit arrived with one side of lid completely incased so you couldn’t open the lid (which is where all the base and leg parts reside). It was a pain to haul back an unboxed grill to Home Depot, but the return was seamless (kudos to Home Depot!). Luckily, the Asmoke 700P was still on sale for ~$510 w/ taxes and military discount so ordered a replacement unit. It arrived fairly quick (5 business days) and so far so good… until it came to assembly of some parts. The instructions skip a few things that you have to figure out on your own. For example, it doesn’t mention you have to unscrew/remove the siding on the opposite side of the auger (pellet feeder) to hook up your two cables for the inside light (1 hr wasted trying to figure that out while also trying to reach Asmoke support). The base (ash tray/humidifier) was already attached to the main barrel so I'm trying to figure out how to attach the ignitor base after attaching the pellet feeder to the main barrel. Luckily it didn't take too long to remove the ash tray base and then install the ignitor base (the instructions have the base already uncovered). It would be nice if Asmoke had an instructional video. Which brings me to their support. I tried calling the toll free number for support and all I got was 3 minutes of waiting-music followed by an automated robotic messaging service to leave a message. I tried messaging via Facebook and Instagram and no response. About 4 hours later of sweat and tears (fortunately no blood), I got the smoker up and running and so far so good with “first burn-in”. It took about 25-30 min to reach ~475°F and got up to just over 480° with setting on High (didn't quite reach 500°). Quality is fairly good and robust… 2nd unit arrived with a couple dents in the barrel where the lid closes so I had to hammer it somewhat back to normal so the lid would close properly (~95% flush now so hopefully it is good enough). Asmoke really needs to work on their quality control process. Only time will tell if this lasts but my concern is with support if anything goes wrong or need to claim warranty for parts. Here’s to hoping it lasts a while! Finally, I received the gold color version although there wasn't an option on Asmoke’s website for gold. And, Home Depot’s website has a picture of an all black version which I thought I was going to get (no biggie). There is one slightly larger humidifying tray which is metal which I thought is better than the four little aluminum trays I saw on some of the YouTube product reviews for this smoker (just FYI).

ZERO Support - Don't buy

ASmoke tech sent instructions compiled from cut/paste of previous manuals and incomplete like loose pieces you have to figure out where they go, remove screws from assembled grill to install and even disassemble grill portions to install. Instructions don't cover this. Also known GCFI issue with 700W startup – you’re directed to replace GCFI outlet. This grill isn't ready for prime time. Half assembled I can’t complete assembly and use grill wasted $600+. Learn from my experience. SEGardener
