The Austin Air HealthMate Plus Replacement Filter is the same filter that arrives with the original unit when ordered. It is not a second rate filter but simply the same filter being replaced. This filter works as described and is very efficient. We use it in a unit in a bedroom and very happy with the level of filtration and effectiveness. I would buy (and have bought) again.

I have asthma and I noticed right way that I could breath better when I was in the room with the filter was running. Quiet on low. I could take a deep breath and feel like I was getting a lot of good air. I have allergies too and it helps with that , I have two dogs who sleep with me and it doesn't bother me.
