for the price it allows some peace of mind for early warning of sump pump failure.not as loud as it could be and wire to sensor could be longer or option to extend it to allow the mounting upstairs with sensor downstairs. that is what i did on my own. over all i am very pleased with it

I installed the unit on 24 September 2019 as a sensor for our house's sump pump. The unit no longer works on 15 October 2019 when the sensors are totally immersed in water, even with a brand-new battery. I had to hold the unit right next to my ear to hear the very faint chirping. The unit worked correctly when first installed.

This passed summer I purchased an older home to remodel. I knew that I would need to replace the plumbing at some point. I purchased this water alarm for peace of mind. I am so happy that I did because three months into the remodeling project, a water pipe burst in the basement. Needless to say, if I did not have this water alarm I would have never caught it in time and it would have been a lot worse! This is a great product, very affordable, user friendly, and VERY LOUD!

I feel better having this after hearing the neighbors horror stories about their past water leaks. We have an Island kitchen sink and part of that includes a reverse osmosis water system. Those have lots and lots of thin hoses and push on fittings (compression) that give you about 10 places for a leak to occur. More if you run a line to your ice maker. The thought of having an unknown water leak under my sink would be a nightmare if I didn't know about it. You mount the alarm to the wall under the sink and the sensor can be placed in a low spot or someplace where it would detect a leak. Nice low-cost system to give you some notice of an unseen problem. This alarm is very loud.

The high water alarm emits a loud (100 dB) alarm alert when the metal probes located at the bottom of the unit make contact with water. The alarm can be placed on the floor or mounted on the wall. The metal probes are attached to a six foot cord that is stored in the base of the alarm that allows you to wall mount the alarm. If the unit is not to be mounted on the wall it must be in an upright position with the two metal probes in contact with the surface for it to operate properly. Make sure that the unit is on a surface that will not be interfered with where the unit may be accidentally knocked over. Do not place the unit on any metal surface as this will create false alarms. A 9 volt battery is included with the unit. I located my alarm next to my washing machine in the event of water line break. I located a second alarm under the toilet tank in my master bath.

This is a simple to install alarm designed to sound like a smoke alarm beeping if the sensor plate comes into contact with water. The unit requires a nine-volt battery which is supplied. You unwind the cord, which is six feet long, and place the sensor on the floor near your hot water tank, sump pump, or any other area you want to monitor. You then mount the sounding unit to a wall or any surface, using screws or double sided tape. In testing the unit – it works as expected, with a small puddle of water setting it off. It is fairly loud, so placement of the alarm in the basement with the door closed would still enable you to hear it if there isn’t a loud noise source upstairs. It does not send any alarm other that from the unit itself, so no remote monitoring is possible. Overall, a very economical way to detect water leaks and give you warning if you are in the vicinity of the alarm. For the price Id rate it five stars, but overall, as its a local alarm only, I rated it four stars.
