very difficult assemble and install

Warning. Do not even think about putting this together unless you are extremely gifted at assembly. You will need two strong people to install it on the wall. Nice product Patrick. Quality construction. Not for the squeamish to assemble or install. Recommend professional installers. When I could not install it, I called Home Depot who gave me a list of contractors who could install it. Hoping That the enjoyment from the canopy now is worth the effort.

We assembled the awning, which took a LONG time, and attached it to our house only to realize the one arm wouldn’t open. Wayfair sent us a new arm. We had to remove the awning from our house, disassembled it and reassembled it putting the new arm on. We re-attached it to the house and thankfully the arm opened only to realize there were several spots in the awning that were almost worn right through. They will be holes in no time. It also pools water when it rains. At this point, after assembling, dis assembling and reassembling, it’s staying on the house but it’s not worth buying. It’s junk. I would not recommend purchasing this awning.

Great value and quality

Superb value and quality! Delivery was great as was the communication. The bolts supplied for wall fixing are rubbish and dangerous. They will pull though a 14mm hole. I bought higher quality ones for safety. One star lost as a result.

Do not recommend.

The assembly directions were very vague. My husband ended up taking all day to get it installed. I’m not sure it’s working properly as when we close the shade the side bar hinges still stuck straight instead of folding back up. I would love to return it but my husband refuses to take it back down.

Great Product!

We are very happy with our awning. The materials were good. I like the color also. All the pieces were there! The only thing that was a pain were the instructions but we figured them out!

I’ve been using this awning for 2 years now and I haven’t had any problems with durability or the openingclosing mechanism. I did need a professional installer and it took him around 3-4 hours to mount. Once we got past that, it has been amazing during our summer patio gatherings.

Color is a true tan, not taupe-ish. Price is amazing. I love that it’s free standing without legs. Only thing I didn’t like is instructions are minimal and not clear. They don’t tell you how to change the angle so my husband thought you couldn’t. I had to go back and read the website so he would believe it could be lowered at an angle.

Instructions were not very clear. YouTube videos helped, but still weren’t very clear. That being said, it was a nightmare to put together. I did it on my own, and strongly suggest having a second person to help.

Product itself is very nice and looks great up

Terrible insallation instructions. None of the parts were marked. It is highly questionable if someone not mechanically inclined will put this together correctly. That being said, once up, it looks great and works perfectly for our intended use.

We love our new manual awning. It finishes off the patio perfectly. I would have given it five stars, but the installation manual had a few flaws. Some of the directions weren't clear and the pictures did not help clarify. It was hard to tell which side a piece should be placed. Rolling it up was challenging too, so when we roll it to close, it takes muscles. We did have two bolts snap because they were installed incorrectly, but the customer service sent replacement parts immediately. We would definitely buy again.

Good value, assembles easily.

We purchased this awning to shade our deck during late afternoon and early evening. Looked at some other models but many complaints about vague instructions however I found this one was easy to assemble if you follow the manual. Helps if you've done this sort of thing before, assembling a barbecue grill is more difficult in my opinion. I used two saw horses to assemble the awning, it made assembly much easier than doing it on the floor. I prepped the mounting points on the house and our son helped me lift it into the brackets and it went in flawlessly. There are screws for either mounting to a masonry wall or wooden wall. Measure measure measure! Had to adjust the rake as explained in the manual and now we have a shaded deck!!

Potential Buyers Beware

Potential buyers please beware. This product is cheap, but still too much $$$ to spend on a worthless piece of junk. Firstly, the instructions are beyond worthless. We watched 2 videos on-line and they helped some but not enough. The absence of a parts inventory made it impossible to know if all the parts are in the box and in our case, we suspect they were not. Since the awning cannot be unrolled until it is attached to the structure, you can't tell if it is damaged. Ours was! The outer rod was bent. Our handyman (who can do anything) helped us put it up but even the three of us had trouble because it was so flimsy. When we finally got it attached to the building (hours of labor), we discovered the bent pole made it impossible to crank it out. Since we had an event scheduled for the next day, we went ahead and pulled it out by hand to find that one of the struts was broken. We improvised and using poles and ropes got it hung for our party. There it sits...drooping and waiting for the first wind to take it down. Lesson learned: go ahead and have professions put up a decent awning it will be worth it.

Poor quality

Do not order this awning. I purchased it May of 2020 and when I was so excited to use it again this year, the left side is drooping terribly. I had to hire a carpenter to try and fix it, the only thing he could do was to make a pole to keep the awning up. I called customer service and explained what was happening after just one season of having this awning. He said go to a hardware store, it's outside of 1 their one year warranty. I will never order anything from Overstock again! Poor quality items sold and horrible customer service. Very disappointed! It takes a lot for me to write anything negative, but customers have to have honesty.

We have a canopy at the rear of the house. Now some will be jealous & I'm sorry but we get the Sun from 10ish in the Morning untill it's Dark. But the downside is It get's very hottttt under the Canopy. We have purchased a Large Fan to help, even moved the Parasol closer to help, but still very hot under the Canopy. So we needed an Awning. The Brother-in-Law came around to help this week. He's a retired Joiner, he was very impressed, I can't get over this,they have thought of everything with this Awning, bolts have rounded tip so you don't damage the thread, all brackets. Stunning it's a piece of Garden equipment you need if you get a lot of Sun. Everything you need to fit is in the box, just supply your tools & Ladder. 4m long Awning Fabulous. Thank you

Poor quality

WARNING! Do not waste your money on this product. Thought the price was low due to OVERSTOCK offering. Boy was I surprised. Instruction leaflet brief and incomplete. Difficulty securing someone who would even install due to past history o product After 5 hours to install and multiple calls to customer support, my installer was directed to "just view more instructions on UTUBE". Add insult to frustration. Then the quality leaves much to be desired. Manual roll out worked 2 times before jumping track. Poor buying decision on my part, Don't make the same mistake. Should have paid extra for SUNSETTER product

looks good

It was ok to install. What hung me up was attaching the awning to the roll. They're is a long plastic piece that pushes through both the end of the awning and the metal roll. I would get it close then it would catch on something and stop going.
