great phone if you don't like cell phones
I bought this for my 80 year old sister in a Nursing Home. She had so much trouble with the phone there and we could never reach her .She didn't understand the buttons and it was always off the hook. This phone is excellent for her because it is a phone that is easy to use and she can tell when it is not on the base. She loves it.
[Rewarded Review] AT&T Trimline Corded Telephone
This is the same affordable corded phone that AT&T has made for decades. I love having it as my land-line backup phone--no electrical outlet required and a backlit keypad, among other features. It's attractive, compact and reliable, a great phone for the price!
[Rewarded Review] The Worse
Bought this phone to replace my vintage on-the-wall princess phone I had hanging in my kitchen for decades—- the quality of the new phone is best described as poor. There is an inherent glitch in the design of the phone bc it kept falling out of it molded cradle designed to hold the handle in place in an upright position. The handle kept falling off the wall. The plastic was light weight and cheap. We just threw the entire phone in the trash bc it was not worth the effort of sending back via UPS or the post office. In short—- a piece of crap. Don’t waste your time or money

I use it for home use. Its not bad, similar in size to the AT&T, ITT, etc Trimline phones of days gone by. The sound quality is great. The ringer volume levels are good it is easy to adjust the volume level to suit the listener. The dial pad light is VERY DIM, difficult to see even in dim light. The buttons are not smooth, like the original phones of long ago, and the markings underneath the ringer, program/mute, and tone/pulse buttons are VERY DIFFICULT to see---you need to use a flashlight just to make out the lettering. This is a great phone when you need a corded home or office corded phone. This phone is a good value for the price, and is well worthit.

It's a very good phone overall, with a few shortcomings. Like most inexpensive Trimline-type phones, the base is extremely lightweight and the coiled cord is on the short side. I have mine mounted on the wall next to the bed, so neither point is a problem. But it could get annoying used on a table-top. The base is likely to jump up every time you pick up the phone. Otherwise, my only real gripe is that the backlight on the dial pad is only barely bright enough to be useful. With all the blindingly bright LEDs turning up on things these days, I was surprised that the light on this phone was so dim.
Mr. Watson, come here – I want to see you
I still need to use a landline phone because our condo building uses landlines for the intercom system. Since we needed a wall phone in our kitchen, I found this phone to be excellent for our needs. By making an adjustment to the switch-hook, this unit can be converted between a desk configuration and a wall configuration. It is a simple phone, but the sound quality, ringer, and operation are just fine.
The Keypad is No Longer Fully Lit on New Trimline Phones
This phone is a modern classic. It's not a true vintage or retro corded phone design but it's been around for years nonetheless ? to the late '80s that I personally recall. Unfortunately, my latest purchase of this phone ? after having first owned AT&T's version of this over 25 years ago ? is not comparable with my earlier experience. Apparently AT&T has shaved a few cents off the cost by lighting the keypad only on the diagonal. That means that your outer-quadrants are not well lit at all. It cheapens the look ? because it imparts the look of being partially "burned out" ? and worse it is not very functional for the intended purpose (access to a lighted keypad at night is arguably a safety feature). In this day-in-age the point of purchasing a corded phone is to have available a phone that will work in an emergency and/or remain useful even when the power goes out. Unfortunately the back lighting is so uneven that it is not up to par with earlier versions of this same design (which looked more like the photo illustration in that the keys were evenly lit). I kept the phone I received because it works, otherwise, but I am very disappointed to find that AT&T no longer sees fit to fully back-light the keypad. Had I known that this wasn't the same phone I owned years ago I could have bought a much cooler retro corded phone of any number of designs. I chose this phone over the other options because I wanted backlit keys only to find that the keypad is no longer fully lit. This is not good news for accessibility (the elderly or low-vision buyers who might be attracted to this type of phone) and it's not good for those of us who simply prefer a phone with a back-lit keypad.
Good analog phone for the money
Pros: Good analog phone for the price. Touch tone buttons have a nice feel that offer resistance and then after 50% travel distance, fall into a nice positive detent. Has a three level volume slide switch on side of handset. Has three programmable emergency call buttons in the top row with nine additional speed dials. Has Flash, Redial, and Mem buttons across the bottom row. Speed Dialing and Redial functions work equally well on the antiquated AT&T copper wire system as well as VoIP across the Internet.
