This is a very strong and sturdy drop arm commode. Padding is a definite plus and legs are easy to adjust to correct height, works very well over the toilet. It is a great option to have drop arms, was necessary for me to have that option. Great decision for me to have selected this product, very well constructed and good quality. Comes in very handy when visiting at my sons’ home.
Medline Heavy Duty Padded Drop - Arm Commode
Sturdily made. Soft commode seat which is nice. The part that holds the bucket is now made of steel instead of plastic; which broke on our old bedside commode-technical flaw; so if bucket is not emptied in a timely manner it won't drop suddenly splashing contents everywhere! It does have the drop down arms, but it would still be nice if they had a bariatric, wider seat for more comfort the extra large, hence only 4 stars.
I like everything about this bedside commode except the placement of the handles (plastic and wire handles) on the bucket. I'll admit, i'm a bit OCD, but I want the wire handle not to stick out the front of the unit when the plastic handles are holding the bucket below the toilet seat. It hasn't affected the function of the commode, but if a person were backing up to sit on the seat, their leg might hit the slightly proud wire handle and push the entire catch basin/bucket back, leading to misalignment of the bucket and a puddle on the floor. I wish it had a flip down lid on top of the seat, instead of the separate lid that only fits the bucket when it is removed from the chair. Nevertheless, I like the product quite a bit, and think it's better, by far, than the other styles I've seen on the internet.
Although it hasn't been put to use yet, the design clearly makes it easy to adapt to use by grabbers for those that must avoid bending at the waist. It also appears easy to keep clean.
Chair is heavy duty with arms that fold down so that patients can be easily moved onto toilet. Seat and back are comfortably padded and toilet includes a bucket that can be removed by sliding under seat or simply lift seat. Legs are adjustable to match user height. Delivery exceeded expectations and the price was significantly less that a competitive toilet.
It arrived quickly. First one received the seat was dusty dirty and the seat connection was broke. Home Depot returned no problem. Went home and Re-Ordered second one it arrived quickly. The seat was dusty dirty but not as bad as first one, a cleaned up easy . With two weeks in Works perfectly easy to move around for placement as needed. Padded seat was a major plus. Love the drop arms. My mother is Very satisfied with this product
Looking forward to using it
Its very adjustable from high to low.... arms drop easily and plush seat. The Cadillac of crappers
Replacement seat.
Was so fantastic to find thIs as the original one has not aged well and the seat is the only part that would benefit from replacement. Most comfortable padded seat for bilateraL HIP replacements.
Adult Potty chair
Adult Potty chair is as described. Easy unboxing and setup. Works as described. It is heavy and has a nice padded seat and back. Cannot use back when placed over a commode. Also works well when add a child potty adjustment makes the kid feel safe.
Portable Throne
This bedside toilet is worth the money. Good height adjustment, padded seat and back. The arms can drop away too and is very convenient. A good sturdy chair. I definitely recommend it.
Sturdy chair at all adjustable heights
Well built and sturdy, Im 175lbs. I was able use at a lower seat height than expected, with the use of the handles to raise my self. I do leave the handles up so cant comment on them staying up over time from being raised and lowered over and over. Would be 5 stars except one plastic clip on the seat that attaches the seat to the chair comes off the chair bar from time to time. Not a performance issue snaps right back on .
Good product
This chair is pleasant to sit on with removable backrest. I use it over toilet and as a stand alone toilet chair. It has a stable and solid frame. I have now bought two of these. Have been using this product for 4 months. I like this products practicality and build quality. Fold down arms and adjustable height is good. It is pleasant to sit on. Thank you.
Great commode, but poor bucket design!
I was so pleased with the purchase of this commode, except for the poor design of the bucket! The padded seat was very comfortable. The opening in the front was very helpful. The fold down arms worked great. The commode is very sturdy and I was very happy with it, but the bucket area is a VERY POOR design. I read that people were not happy with the bucket, but I really liked the features of this commode, I decided I just had to take the chance. Luckily, I had a rectangular sink basin that fit perfectly along the tracks and was the perfect length to totally cover the commode hole so there was no possibility of leakage. Once I solved this bucket problem, THEN I had a great commode! The bucket supplied is small and it slides along the track front to back and one would have to slide it while on the commode to make sure they did not miss the bucket. Ridiculous! It is a shame that the manufacturer has not yet corrected the poor bucket design despite all the complaints. I don't think anyone tested it before they placed it on the market.
Through a lot of research, I chose this chair for my 90 year old handicapped Mother that lives with us. I had to choose a chair that would be short enough and sturdy enough for her because she is vertically challenged and cannot walk. This chair is very sturdy. Appears to be comfortable. It is a little heavy, but I figure that’s because it is very sturdy... there are 2 problems that I have found with it. The bucket is not large enough for the hole and the arms move down on a metal pull out button that, if not careful will pinch the heck out of your hand. It makes a pretty little blood blister and can cause to to wince out in pain. Which I have experienced. The only other thing is the comfy seat has started to wrinkle. Hope this helps someone. Oh, I’ve been using it about 10 days.
Million dollar chair with a 25 cent bucket
The padded seat is great for a patient who has bedsores. The drop arms give this commode useful efficiency allowing you to bend side to side for entry/exit and for wiping. Unfortunately the bucket is too small. It should be oblong so as to cover more of the bombadier opening. We put a puppy pad underneath the chair. In case my mother misses the bucket.
Stability and height adjustment of this chair are premier.
I'm using this as a shower chair for my father. It has served us well. When I need a commode chair for him, I think this will serve well, also. I had a chair with wheels which moved around in the locked position. It was unsafe and too high. The stability and height adjustment ability of this chair are perfect.
Very heavy! The catch bucket doesn’t seem to fit securely in place. I feel as though it won’t catch the bodily fluids correctly. The only positives are the drop arms and the padded seat and back. I purchased this item to make things a little more comfortable for my mother and I feel as though this product could use some modifications .
Drop Arm Bedside Commode
I am 6ft. Tall and facing total knee surgery in January and told I would need a bedside commode. Well, this is much more. I am currently using it over my low toilet to elevate the seat which is Wonderful! But I had to remove the padded back because it was too much when backed against the original toilet seat. But if I need to use this commode bedside (after surgery) I can re-apply the padded back and fold down the closest arm. Lots of good options!
Not Comfortable at all
This commode is rated to hold someone up to 350 pounds I weigh 235 pounds & it did feel very sturdy. That is the pro. The cons are many; its probably sturdy enough to hold someone 350 pounds but it is in no way comfortable for someone of that weight. I have large hips & large thighs. The arms on the chair could not be put up at all when I was sitting in the chair. It has a round bucket that is to small there is plenty of room for someone to accidently spill onto the floor. The manufacturar also didn't take into consideration the rail that holds the chair it completely blocks access for a person to be able to wipe themselves. This is NOT a chair built for a large person.
