Amazing outdoor shed for astrophotography.
I bought this shed to house my permanent balcony observatory. This includes a telescope and mount with all the associated gadgets and computers. I don't really understand all the negative reviews here and wonder if people aren't assembling this correctly. In my case the shed was protecting thousands of dollars of sensitive equipment used for astrophotography. Mission critical stuff and not your typical garden equipment. I never found any rust or rain damage that others have mentioned. I even drilled holes into the sides to feed the electronics and sensors through and still no issues with any kind of rust. The roof slides on and off easily. I even automated the lid by adding a linear actuator so that the lid opens automatically when its dark outside and then closes when my weather detector detects rain or overcast skies. It all worked flawlessly. Bottom line is the shed did it's job which was to protect all the equipment from the elements. Last December we had downpour rains for weeks and I had zero issues. Not sure what everyone else's problem is. Maybe incompetent users or somehow they got a bad one, probably the former.
size and new sliding roof are what was stated in ad. The last one I had, that was similar, lasted over 20 years. I like the attached floors which are easy to keep clean. The only thing I don't like is the door closure. It is cumbersome to close, you have to pull or push the roof over the door to close.
Three Year Shed
This is a great product if you are looking for a three year shed. It will take several days to assemble and then you can watch the roof sag and the parts rust. (And i Iive in Arizona where there is zero rain.) the rust was so bad that the weight of the roof caused the frame to collapse. This product should be recalled and fully refunded. It's a travesty that Rubbermaid put their name on this thing.
Cheap, flimsy, and difficult to put together
I bought around 2 years ago, and I can see why the warranty is only one year.
Will not recommend
Arrived later than scheduled. The box was torn. Came with no instructions, missing parts.
Poorly designed-roof no longer slides
Purchased this 3 years ago because I couldn't get a Suncast at the time. The roof stopped sliding back within the first 6 months so if you want to open it, you have to stand on the side and "lift" the rear part of the front roof and slide back-but careful you don't pinch your fingers. then you can return to the front and slide it back fully. I hated this so much I gave it to my neighbor for free and bought a different brand shed. Life is too short for such aggravation from a poorly designed product.
Not as good as they used to be
I had my old Rubbermaid storage shed for about 15 years in the heat of the Phoenix Arizona area. Decided it was time to get a new one. If it was not for the fact that my son and daughter in law work so hard to get it together, I would put my old one back up. The doors do not close and the lid does not slide open. It looks like good construction just bad design. Hopefully the material stands up as well as the last one.
We have purchased 2 of these a few years apart. The first was missing the rear wall but customer service was quick to send us another one. That one has held up perfectly during 2 Pocono Mountain winters. That one houses our riding lawn mower. The 2nd shed came with all the parts and is housing my son's Harley. We are very satisfied with both of them. The look is not at all cheap as one might think a plastic storage shed would be. It is a nice useful addition to our yard.
lid doesn't slide
its ok, does the job but the lid doesn't slide back. tried fixing it multiple ways. just have to duck to walk inside.
[Rewarded Review]
The sliding roof doesn't work well. It catches and it is hard to close the doors.
This shed is way smaller than the dimensions.
Ample Storage Space
I bought this in Jul 2023 from Amazon to free up space in my garage. It is large enough to meet my needs and then some, and the price was in my expectations. Now about the assembly. Saw horse table, side of the garage to angle roof sides when screwing them together, both sets, lots of patience, water, and mechanics stool to sit on.
Hinge of door fell off
After about a year the hinge of the door fell off. So now one door is laying on the ground. So now I'm schlepping trying to find replacement parts so I can repair it.
Great Mini Shed
We bought this shed over 5 years ago and we are very happy with it. During a tornado, the hinges of the doors broke off, we got them replaced and have had NO leaks or issues with the shed. Only thing the roof slopes a little. But very happy, now just need the shelves for the back of the shed.
DO NOT BUY THIS!!!
Do not buy this!!! I’m here because I’m ordering door hinges for the SECOND time…… And the roof sags. I had to screw a piece of sheet metal on the rear roof portion so I could actually open it. It acts like a ramp. I would NOT recommend buying this.
We love the side of the storage shed. Very roomy
Thank you for your honest reviews
I was in the process of purchasing one of these sheds but after reading the many reviews and the problems, I will continue my search because getting the value for my hard earned money is very important to me. I thank all the owners who wrote reviews and sorry for their predicament.
Have not been disappointed in this purchase. Plenty of room for all those yard extras.
6 ft. 6 in. x 5 ft. Slide-Lid Resin Shed
The problem is the sliding roof. It hangs up and the only way to slide it open is to go around to the side, lift and slide at the same time in order to slide the top back. Other than this major design flaw, it is great. If it wasn’t for this problem the shed would have a five star rating to me. The only reason I bought this one is because i needed its particular dimensions. I thought i could get around the flaw, but I haven’t been able to yet.
Rubbermaid Outdoor Shed
Easy to put together but does take some time 2-3 hours
