My unit turns off when it gets hot

I bought a brand new one of these on EBAY about 1 month ago. I need it for when I dj weddings. From day #1, after about 5 minutes of being turned on, the bulb goes dark. The fan motor is still on but the bulb just dies. I used a volt meter and there is no voltage feeding into the bulb when this happens. $300.00...waist of money....really. I bought mine from Sam Ash. This is really not a $300.00 light. It's a tin box with 2 magnifier glasses. I am very upset.

Fs-1000

I bought this item for a small show and was very impressed. I also have lycian followspots and this unit compares with my 1000 watt unit. The footprint is small and the unit itself is so small that it's great for small shows with a throw of 75'. Great unit and the price is well worth it.

Spot

I've used this unit several times. First off, I really can't complain as it is very affordable. 1,000 watts is not what you'd think. It is easy to operate, but far from as bright as I thought it would be. Spend a little more money and get something stronger so you will be happy!

Great Purchase

FS-1000 Follow spot was a great purchase. Easy to use and great for any productions. Looking forward to purchasing the colored light kit.

The FS–1000 system is a nice light for small to midsized venues. Plenty of brightness for most applications, this follow spot creates a well-defined beam edge with manual zoom and focused controls. Would be exceptional if the included stand was more sturdy and had casters. Power cord could be longer, and this unit burns very hot. At the end of the day, it gets the job done.

I highly recommend the American DJFS-1000 Follow spot light with stand. The only down side is that the electric cord could be a bit longer.

Pros: EfficientCons: Unable To Mount,No Off SwitchNo on/off switch. Must unplug. Could not mount to a ceiling hanging bracket. Was able to purchase an extension piece to mount.
