Cheap material
Wasn’t long enough to not have to bend to pick up the dog poop. The plastic is already showing signs of failure after just a couple of uses.
Didn’t last for more than a month.
Ordered this over the winter. Just took it out recently. Used it for less than a month and the handle that you squeeze to open the scoop broke. Extremely disappointed with the quality!
Broken in less than a year
Broke after 10 months of almost daily use. The pin came out of the grabber so it doesn’t open anymore. Height is good.
Handle Broke
I bought in November of 2023. The pull handle that opens and closes the bottom scoop broke after 4 months. Just snapped in half. I tried using it with the sharp broken handle once. Then the other half broke off as well.
Almost perfect.
This is my 2nd one. It is great because the bucket has sharp teeth that can grab anything, especially with the strong dual spring system. The bar is steel. So it is also strong. The weak link is the pull handle. The molded plastic is comfortable, but once it fails, there's simply no way to fix it. The rest of the pull is inside the solid metal tube. I recommend using a cheap foam handlebar grip or cutting a piece of pipe foam pipe insulation to use as a grip. This way you'll create a bumper on the grip handle and prevent pulling too far. It's that very last half inch that will do it in. As long as you don't open the jaws all the way, it works fine. I use it to pick up leaves and twigs. My Magnolia drops large leaves, small twigs and huge buds which never blossomed. Much like small pine cones, we call them "hand grenades." None of it blows or rakes. It's much faster to just pick up individually and the bucket will hold a large quantity of items, if you develop some skill. Children actually find it fun. It just needs to be used gently.
Works but one issue soft poop sticks and hardens
Works well except if u pick up soft poop it gets cought in teeth and hardens unless u rinse constantly the teeth won’t close and drips poop
Works well as advertised
I'm happy with this poop grabber. It works well in grass. My previous grabber needed me to twist it a little to pick everything up. If you do that with this one the handle will occasionally twist too. But you don't need to twist the grabber. It does a surprisingly good job picking up poop in grass. I just need to remember that so I don't accidentally break it unnecessarily.
The scooper I received today is broken!
I haven't even used it yet, because it's broken. I dont want to send it back, wait another week, so I'm going to try to super glue it. You should probably check your products before shipping them.
Not great for large poops, broke after 3rd use
I have two labs so the poop in my yard is fairly large. I had one similar to this for many years (it got 'repaired' a few times with duct tape though lol), so figured this would be a good replacement. It appears well made, so maybe it's ok for small dogs, or light use. I scoop my yard 1-2 times per week and during the 3rd time I was using it, the handle you pull on snapped and there is not way to try to repair it to make it usable. Ended up in the trash.
Too little for me
The poop scooper is ok for small size poops but it feel like it’s going to break when i try to open to the widest size. I miscalculated the length of the shaft and I have to bend over to collect the poop it could be good for shorter people other than that it looks durable it’s easy to wash off and I have left it outside in the rain for the past few days and I see no rust …I would buy again if there was a longer shaft about 5 inches and the scooper was bigger
Best height for most people
These are taller than many of the scoopers we've owned. Like anything plastic, they eventually crack from being outdoors but they really last a long time for us. Not much bending over since the handle is longer and helps with clean up
Great item
Nothing fancy but very well built with strong springs. The tension is strong enough to scoop below the poop and grab everything into the large chamber for disposal.
Picks up very well
This item gets used frequently. The springs are holding up very well. The long handle helps to keep from bending over too much.
Broke after one use
Save your money! This broke immediately after I took it out of the box and used it once. The plastic is flimsy and snapped in half.
Fails on all levels
Flimsy. When you try to pull to separate poop from grass, it instead unscrews the handle to come apart. Poop gets stuck when trying to release it into a trash bag. Fails on all levels.
Highly Recommend! Easy to Use and Good Quality.
This scooper has been a life saver on my back. I was used to manually picking up my dogs business with a glove and placing it in a grocery bag. Now I can easily grab it without having to bend over. This is priced very affordably, I should of purchased one of these ages ago.
Poor quality. Save your money
Within the first few days of usage one of the springs became disconnected. Repaired this and within the next week the handgrip fractured into three pieces rendering this item totally useless. Would definitely not recommend!
Stout!
K.... The springs that close the scoop are really stout....you gotta squeeze purty hard to open the scoop..... but the whole assembly is really stout, too. Should last a while. Wouldn't recommend if your hands aren't strong.
User friendly and great quality
This product is sturdy and easy to use. You don't need to apply a lot of strength when picking up. I'm glad i chose it among other options. I strongly recommend it.
Amazing Price and Quality Petmaker Product!
Previously I purchased a different brand and paid 3 times the price and it was not even half the quality of this one. In fact when I ordered this one to replace the one I had I decided that scoopers were pretty much a disposable purchase and I wasn't spending much. I am amazed at the quality of design and materials. It's sturdy and easy to use. The size of the scoop is great and gets it all. The handle is a comfortable length. I recommend this scooper and I know you'll be impressed with the quality at such an affordable price. I'm so impressed with this "Petmaker" product that I'm looking them up to see what else they have.
