Don't bother. It's garbage

I tend to be sympathetic with my reviews unless it's clear a product is faulty and this lock is faulty. Don't bother. It'll fail on you before a year and unfortunately seems to be common. Even with all new batteries, lithium or not, it'll just not work.

Was decent until it stopped working

Installation was pretty straightforward. Syncing with my system was a little challenging but once it was it worked. This this absolutely blows thru batteries! A set of 4 AA batteries only last about 3 weeks. Fast forward to about 3 months after the warranty expires and the electronic portion has quit working so now I’m back to having to carry a set of keys until I can research another brand that will hopefully last longer than this one did. Would not recommend.

Installation was way easier than I expected. I didn’t know just how much I needed this for my home until I put it to use. The lock connects via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi and can be unlocked by an app, keypad, or key. The design of the lock is super sleek and isn’t an eyesore. The biggest perk is the peace of mind it provides just incase my mom/anyone forgets their key. Additionally, I love how much this lock has simplified my life. I’m able to lock/unlock from my phone which means I’m no longer fumbling around with keys trying to get in the front door while holding a toddler and 156 other items. I could go on and on. Don’t hesitate, get this lock!!!!!!

Terrible product

Yale locks since April 2023: recurring issues like random master code erasures, guest code failures, screen blackouts, no battery status alerts, Wi-Fi disconnections. Yale app struggles with code deactivation during time adjustments. Frequent battery replacements. Seeking alternative solutions. Do not waste your $$$

Product is great looking, App could use a facelift

The installation was straightforward although had troubles connecting the wire to the escutcheon interior apparently the wire is too short. App is not so intuitive based on the product. I do not have a Wi-Fi module but app lets me configure the WiFi bridge and is not clear which serial number I need to input as there are multiple serial numbers available (on the box, within Device information etc.). Email support is great, response received almost instantly. The satin nickel finish I bought has a good sleek and impulsive look. Love that the lock is very configurable but its very expensive compared to other smart locks.

Very simple to install, easy to understand instructions (youtube videos are very helpful), took about 20 mins (it's the second Yale lock I've installed). Calibrations were easily done with the app on my phone. The deadbolt fit into my pre-existing deadbolt hole in my door.

Good Hardware but Huge Unfulfilled Promises

I purchased the Yale Assure Lock 2 in 2022, primarily driven by the promise that it would support the Matter standard, a feature prominently highlighted in Yale’s press release and reiterated in numerous product reviews. Unfortunately, my experience with this product has been marred by unfulfilled promises.

Failed product and even worse cust svc

I bought this a year ago for our AirBnb and it worked fine at first, but got worse over time. There were minorish issues but the worst is our guests' access codes expired prematurely. Attempts to create a temp code failed during these times. I've tried contacting Yale for support but they bombard you with questions and hand you off to the next person who eventually say they cannot help. This company does not care about you after you purchase their product. Check other reviews.

No support on defective lock

It worked great for 6 month. and it started having trouble to drain power in a few days. I spend multiple hours to isolate the issue. I suspect the touch screen is defective and draining power. Contacted customer service and requested a help. After 10's of email exchange for me to try to make them understand the issue is on the lock itself. They consistently said they will send a wifi bridge since they believe the wifi module on the lock could be the issue. I told them I removed the wifi module and tested but the result was the same. They did not listen and sent me an wifi bridge to use. Of course, that did not help.

Do Not Purchase This Lock In Coast Areas

I have purchased my second of Yale lock after the first lock failed. I have an Airbnb near the beach and my lock did not stand up to coastal weather conditions. My locks were under a deep cover so that they were never exposed directly to any rain but the coastal salt air caused the locking mechanism to rust in less than 18 months. I would not recommend this lock. I wish someone had told me and I followed the advice. I wish they made the lock with stainless materials.

[Rewarded Review] Excellent!

This assure smart lock was extremely easy to install and very user friendly. The instructions were very easy to follow and it took us less than 30 minutes from start to finish. We were changing an existing lock so not mayor drilling was needed and everything fit the existing holes. It also comes with 2 different sized for the bolt and the option to remove certain plates to adjust for size. The app is also very user friendly and being able to unlock the door with your phone is a plus. You can also send codes to visitors so they can access your home when you are not there.

Can’t trust the company. Can’t trust the lock.

Bought the Bluetooth version of this lock, because Yale announced in 2022 that there would be a Matter/Thread module forthcoming. Since then, not only is there no module, but they’ve removed the ability to sign up for updates about it from their web site. It’s bad enough that Yale’s been promoting vaporware, but this is clearly a bait and switch.

Decent but not what I expected

Digital display is extremely difficult to see when the sun is shine. My front door faces the west so it's in the sun everyday when we are returning home. Should have went with the regular key pad. inside door knob is small and feels very cheap. Setting the lock up is simple and very easy to do. The wifi feature works well.

I love the all black modern, sleek design of this lock. This is perfect for modern farmhouse style short term rental property. The instructions seem simple and easy to install. I love the ability to use with an app and works with Amazon Alexa. It has a lifetime warranty for finish and mechanical and 1 yr for electronics.

Garbage

I bought when it first came out (Fall of '22) to install on a door. I dealt with troubleshooting support for two months before I gave up on it. This past November I went to the property and did an update (just like support told me) using Bluetooth connection. Still had no Wifi connection so troubleshooting again - then after two weeks they told me the lock can only be used via Wifi in Canada and US, so for my condo in Mexico it is useless. So much for me granting access to tradesmen and rental guests remotely.

[Rewarded Review] Locked and loaded

The Yale Assure 2 is a solid choice for anyone who wants to remotely, and reliably, operates a lock. The installation is fine, as long as you download the app and follow the instructions (download the app, then use the QR code on the side of the batteries compartment, not the other way round). If the bolt lock that you are replacing is standard, it should be a seamless transition. If it is not the case, be prepared for drilling holes, measuring, re-measuring, re-drilling, etc. Once installed, I had to tinker a bit to get the calibration approved but since, it's been great. A minor item is that I wish there were no Yale button, which would make the process a little bit faster and intuitive. So far, everything is working including wifi, the app, etc. The finish "sleek old" oil rubbed bronze is very pleasant. I do recommend.

[Rewarded Review] Convenient, solid, well made

I chose the Yale Assure 2 Smart Lock Keyed Wi-Fi Deadbolt with Touch Screen Keypad to replace our other touch screen lock. The hardware itself is solid, sturdy and attractive. The most appealing feature for me compared to the other is the sound and feel of the touch pad. There is a specific audible tone when tapping on the numbers so you know for certain that a code has been entered. Installation was basic and easy to do. The wifi app was easy to download and access but it takes some searching around to figure out how to set and access the codes and features which can only be done via the app (no booklet instructions for programming etc.). The only glitch we have experienced is when locking the door from the app. The bolt turns and indeed locks the door but for some reason the bolt thinks it's not locked properly and the lighted numbers spin and give off an alert tone. Overall however I like the quality and function of this Yale lock and it's nice not having to carry around a key.

[Rewarded Review] All locked up!

This Yale Assure Lock 2 is a great upgrade! It works with apple homekit and WiFi and the app is easy to use. It fits most doors without much customization. I love being able to open the door with my watch. The color looks great and it makes the door look futuristic! I can’t wait to add theses to all my doorses…I love watching my door now as the lock opens and closes!

[Rewarded Review] Great looking lock; easy to install; high quality, seemless smart home integration.

It was easy to install. It has a beautiful brushed metal finish with bronze accents on the outer face, and the digits are only visible when you touch the Yale symbol, an added layer of protection.

[Rewarded Review] Meaty and looks nice, sucks to install

First off, I have installed a few WiFi and bluetooth deadbolts before this. I gotta say, this Yale brand has to be one of the most pain to install. I have to also say, I'm a guy so I don't read directions I just look at pictures when needed. Mine came set up for a 2 1/8" hole but my hole was smaller. Thats when I had to read a little and find where it said I could take off the metal ring (made for the 2 1/8" hole) and it wouldn't hurt anything. After putting on the outside, the wire that hooks into the inside looked like it had a factory bend to it so I tried plugging it in with no avail. I don't really have fat fingers but it was a pain to try to slide into the connector with my fingers. To kind of put another thing on me, my eyesight sucks that close so I didn't notice the 2 little tabs on the plug that only allows it to go in one way. Yes, I had it going in the wrong way. Then it got to the 2 already installed screws to mount the inside to the bracket holding the outside on. Those little suckers didn't line up very well and you can't see if there even close to the holes they go in on the bracket. I finally got those in and was able to put the batteries in and start the set up process. The yale app took a bit to download, then it needed an update, that took forever it seemed! I have a few other devices that have a different app but that doesn't bother me because this door never really gets used all that much but I do have control over it now so that's cool. The physical size of this seems to make it look monstrous. Its not like anything I have installed before but it does see, to be very well built and has a beefy feel to it. Besides the installation part, its not a bad lock. So this may just maybe me venting but I've never felt this way about any other lock I've installed.
