Bought two, both died within 3 months

I bought two Yale Assure locks (version 2) from Best Buy to replace an older model, expecting the same reliability. However, one lock died a month in after rapid battery drain, and despite Yale’s initial response, they delayed sending a replacement by over a month, still haven't received the replacement. Then, the second lock failed the same way after a battery change. I’ve requested a full refund due to these issues, and while Yale's support was initially helpful, I’m disappointed with the lock’s reliability and the slow resolution.

Great product ... poor connectivity

I switched out 2 nest Yale locks for 2 of these. Initially they had zwave connectivity but had too limited an ability to interface with other zwave smart home systems. I bought tbe wifi modules and when they work, they work great. However they are constantly connecting and disconnecting from wifi. They are super easy to Install (20-30 mins ea.) , well made . They are only about 20 feet each from my router and in a completely open space.

Order cancelled, poor customer service

I've attempted to purchase this product four times. Each time my order has been cancelled without context. I called customer service who said they can't assist in sales/orders over the phone and provided no context as to why my order is being cancelled.

Slow and unresponsive

Lock has very slow button response, hard to program, and keeps telling me the door is open and lock is jammed when it is locked.

The lock was supposed to have a fingerprint option. After it was installed, I called Yale customer support and was told this did not have it. Paid extra for this feature.

I ordered this Sept 18 and until now I haven't received the product which I already paid, best buy is advertising that this is available but when u call them the product is unavailable.

The lock works fine. Wifi signal strength needs to be strong for efficient use.

Waste of money

I have factory reset 3 times. The app does pick up lock. It keeps requiring me set up again and again. And now it is just dead. Replaced batteries. Tried several brands and types and just dead. I have had this lock less than 4 months and paid a good penny for it. What a waste. IT IS GARBAGE!

Connecting Remotely is sporadic

Purchase this lock in order to unlock the door for my MIL who has a hard time entering the passcode or fingerprint to read on rainy days. Every time I needed to access this feature it has failed. Trying to contact customer support takes an act of congress. It's the typical jump through hoops to actually talk or chat with a live person. If I knew I would have so much trouble with this lock I would have looked at other brands. The reason I gave it a two star is beside the eating of batteries and unlock/lock remotely not working consistently. The fingerprint and access code works great.

Easy install, works as expected

They sent the wrong product and charged me extra

They sent me the key version without touchscreen, fingerprint and wifi module. I assumed they sent the right one but that was a wrong assumption on my part. The whole part of ordering online was trying to find a good deal but I guess more and more so I am coming to a conclusion that home depot just is bad at customer service.

Loved the lock, but unlocks itself randomly

I received this lock as a housewarming gift and absolutely loved it at first! It has a great design, the fingerprint reader works wonderfully and makes for a really easy process to enter the home. For the first week or so the lock functioned well, set it up with the app, doorsense works nicely, and entry and exit are easy. However, I started to notice that the door was unlocked when I locked it last and no one else is home. After placing a security camera to watch the door I found that the lock would randomly unlock itself in the middle of the day or the middle of the night and stay unlocked until I notice and relock it. The app would register this action in the activity log as the lock being "manually unlocked" but per security camera footage no one was anywhere near the lock and it decided to just electronically unlock itself. A lock unlocking itself at random times is the worst thing a lock could possibly do and has me significantly concerned about the security of this lock and the safety of my home. There are a number of forums and posts that show similar experiences with this product, so I know this is not a one off with my lock.

Excellent Purchase

Easy to install, great instructions, works great! I only use Yale smart locks and this did not disappoint. The only thing I I would like to see is it connect with Samsung rather than just Apple Home.

I had a Yale for a long time, I tried other brands for the fingerprint reader. I bought Yale back when this feature was available in this product. It is just better, more reliable network connection andore flexible on the temporary or recurrent access.

Great upgrade from Yale Assure original.

Easy setup. Works great. Recommend getting the WiFi version. Really helps keeping an eye on your home.

Initial Assessment

Very happy with the lock after a couple weeks of use. Upgraded from old z-wave locks that were over 6 years old and the firmware they had was no longer fully supported. The fingerprint option is a nice feature. Would be nice to add the ability to auto lock at a set time with the Yale app so you do not have to use a third party integration. Use of the fingerprint for reoccurring schedules would also be a nice feature to add.
