my dog loves it
Aside from the packaging (see pic below), I am pleased with this. Instructions are impossible to follow, luckily there are plenty of videos on YouTube. I will never use this as a stroller, so I removed the entire brake system from the frame (just 3 screws each side). The flag comes in two pieces with no way to connect the poles together, but I can fix that. I was worried my dog would hate this, as he did not get crate trained, but I threw his bed in it, put him in it and he took a nap. The shipping box is very flimsy, so make sure to inventory what you receive. FedEx delivered it with the less-damaged side showing. But when I pulled it away from the wall it was leaning on, the box was obviously destroyed during shipping
Almost Perfect
Love almost everything about this cart…the hand brake is pretty much unnecessary %26 the brake lines get in the way of my dog entering the cart from the easiest doorway in the rear. I just took the whole thing off. Also, when my dog tries to climb in at the rear the whole thing tries to flip backwards…it’d be great if there were a kickstand or something to prevent this dangerous issue during entry/exit. Otherwise, this cart is great. Its sturdy %26 very easy to push %26 steer, even through grass %26 uphill.
It's decent.
I bought a large that can take up to 88 pounds and my 55 pound husky has plenty of room. I like the netting and how airy it is. I really didn't have any tipping problems, but my dog sits with her head toward the back. So just make sure your dog's weight is more toward the front and tipping shouldn't be a problem when using as a stroller. The dog bike trailer / stroller shipped fast, but the box and wheel attachment were damaged. The tiny package inside must have fallen out, and it was missing the brakes that screw on to the stroller and all the tools and accessories (reflectors). Walmart was quick to reach out to the company and the company quick to respond, but I would have had to wait two weeks or so for replacement parts. I needed the stroller sooner for a trip, so I ordered another one (only three days to process and ship) and returned the damaged one. Once I had the new one I put the brakes on and discovered that neither trailer worked without the brakes rubbing the wheel. I had to readjust the screws on the brakes to make it fit. It was a big hassle. And on the stroller I returned, there was not even any room to adjust to make it work. Also, the wheels wobble and the spokes probably need to be adjusted, but I have no idea how to do that. I really didn't want to spend another $150 or so more to buy a higher end trailer. So really, for the $150 paid for this one, it's decent and works for my dog. I am still waiting for Walmart to ship it back to the company to get my refund for the first one, so hopefully that goes smoothly.
Bought as my two staffies are elderly and arthritic. Good job my husband was a mechanic as the instructions were in foreign languages, no English. He managed to assemble the stroller but one of the inner tubes must have been faulty because as soon as he started putting air in it blew and he's done enough tyres in his time to know what he's doing. So had to buy a new inner tube. Other than that the stroller is solid and well made. Not using on a bike, just as a stroller.
very great dog trailer!
(automatically translated from Aosom Germany) We use to go inline skating this great dog trailer and for the bike!
My little senior dog loves this!!!!
I purchased this for our little 3 lbs senior POM. She has bad hips/hind legs (14 years old)....but is still bright and full of life. My husband loves to take her outside for quality of life trips...she loves going and is very comfortable being wheeled around like a princess. The windows are low so she can see out and assist in is super easy top, front and back. The assembly book sucks! We had to watch a number of videos to figure it out. Couldn't find exact model on Youtube or Aosum website. Otherwise, its perfect in so many ways and is well suited for small to medium sized dogs who have mobility issues. Highly recommend this carrier for its quality and usefulness.
You and your furry friend are going to love this!
After searching online for such a long time for a doggie trailer, we finally decided on the Aosom Elite II. It turns out that this is a very quality product that we feel comfortable trailing our young Italian Greyhound (Luigi) behind when riding our bicycles. Granted the installation instructions were pretty vague, but the couple questions we had were quickly answered after watching a YouTube assembly video on the Aosom Elite II. Another nice thing about this model is that if you are only using it for a trailer, you do not have to put the push bar or front tire on which would only add weight. The biggest question of all was will the Luigi like it??? He not only likes it he loves it and its like pulling teeth to get him out of the trailer when done riding. My biggest bit of advice would be to Just get It and enjoy having your furry friend safely riding along behind!!! Theyll love you for it!!!
Works Well For Larger Dogs
I got this stroller for my 50 lb aging dog. I chose this stroller because it is long enough for my dog, as well as low to the ground. I still have to help my dog by lifting him, especially as the bed of the stroller has "lips" on both ends but I do not have to lift him very high. I have my dog enter in the back and leave through the front, as he's too big to really turn around. The overall stroller is sturdy, especially the bike wheels. I like that there are bike tires and not plastic wheels that other strollers have. There are 2 pouches on the sides where you can fit a roll of poo bags, your cell phone, & a narrow water bottle. It comes with a thin mat. Someone else online recommended adding a thicker mat which I did from day one to make it more comfortable. The handle is padded and very comfortable to push. I'm tall (6') and it's a good height. Even with my 50 lb dog in the stroller, it is not too heavy for me to push. The wheels work great over grass, dirt, & hard gravel. This stroller can also be pulled by a bike. I have not used this feature, but the pull bar is really sturdy. I think the bike feature will help me with the re-sale value when I no longer need this stroller. The wheels and handle come off easily if you need to transport the stroller in your car. The price of the stroller was decent. One issue I have that I'm working on is that my dog tends to sit WAY in the back, making the stroller bottom heavy and tip towards me and he could potentially fall out, too. (We had a few close calls.) I have to make him sit more in the middle to prevent this. And then he decides to lie down, and doesn't have enough room. So yes, you may have to adjust your dog as he shifts positions. Design flaws: Throw the instruction manual out upon arrival. It had been obviously poorly translated from some foreign language. (The stroller is actually pretty easy to assemble and there are online videos to assist as well.) There is a cross bar that goes into the top back of the stroller that did not fit, at least the one we got. BUT... I learned from another online owner that you don't need this bar anyway. The handlebar gives it all the stability/form that you need and that bar would just be extra weight. This stroller has zippers and I wonder how long they will last. My dog is pretty chill and I usually keep all the flaps open, so this won't really affect me. But keep this in mind if you think you will be closing the flaps a lot. Many strollers advertise as "zipperless" and I can see why. You could always repair the flaps with velcro if needed, I guess. The handbrake's wire hangs down the middle of the back of the stroller. I sometimes hit it with my feet when I walk but it's not a big deal. But if you're a runner, you may want to use a carabiner to hold it to the side. I might do this myself because sometimes it's in the way when I put my dog in. Overall, I'm very happy with this stroller and I would recommend it.
Has some greatness, but..
Assembly was easy except for that pesky top bar was tough, had to unscrew one end to angle it and pop in place, slick. Huge inside. Canvas is excellent quality. The white helps keep inside brighter. Love the many zip entry options it has. When our pug was chill it was fine, if he moved to the back it tipped backwards. When it is parked in the house our chipooshi loves it, hops in to toss and eat her treats. Its ok for walking up and down our straight dirt road but not around anyplace else. Will need to modify the running gear and weight distribution because it doesn't work as it should right out of the box. It does not "fold", it's huge, and relatively healthy. Would not recommend to anyone who is not just walking from home and has a big space to park it out of the way. We took it on vacation and it took up so much space in a rented mini van.
Parts don't fit like they should
The product is fine however you can forget following the instructions there useless. There's a bar that supposed to go in the inside back which holds the thing open. The bar is too long and the holes don't even come close to lining up. Pic attached.I went back and read more reviews and saw this was chronic problem. Don t know how the company miss this. Found a YouTube video with assembly tutorial and they put that bar in place like it was nothing but it was also a different model so somebody in production missed this obvious prob. However one review said once you put the handle in place it holds it open anyway and they were right so do yourself a favor and if you see that bar is way to big just give up the fight and insert the handle bars and move on. One other issue was I had to hammer the front wheel into place. It did not just slide in. So now I m wondering how am I going to get it off and on easily to go back fourth to stroller and trailer.
Charlie loves it
?I received my cart last week and wanted to try it out a few times first before I wrote a review. First of all - yes the manual is quite useless, read the top review here by "Born to Shop" to put it together. His review is spot on for instructions. I too had a great deal of trouble with the stabilizing bar, after a few hours and a lot of cursing I got it in, but upside down, so I will never be able to fold it. I will never fold it any, but for those that want too fold it, I can't imagine being able to just unclip and reclip that bar. I did remove the bike attachment because I will never use it on a bike, but just in case I did save it.Like other reviewers this cart is very back tippy, so you always need a hand on it. I am going to see if I can somehow get a bike kickstand for the back so if I make a stop along my walks, I don't have to keep hold of the cart.Lastly, I bought this for my border collie, he is 12 yrs old and has arthritis in one hip, slight water on his knee, and a slipped disc in his neck. He can still walk, but not for a long distance. Every once and a while he forgets he is old and chases a squirrel, then he is crippled for a few days. I am able to help him get in and he can get out on his own, but if you have a really non-mobile dog that you need to pick up and lay in the cart, this cart is not for you, look up "Pet Gear No-Zip Stroller, with push Button Entry for Single or Multiple Pets" and get something similar.I did give it 5 stars because for me it does it's job, and I do like it.
No Good for large dogs!
This is more of a medium size than a large. I looked for one for my 80lb pit bull who is anxious about going out on walks. I got this hoping to train him to come along on bike rides with my other dog who jogs along with the bike, but it's not really large enough for a big dog. It might fit my 60lb pit but I'd say that's an upper limit. The floor is a thin plastic piece attached by the fabric, it does not sit on the actual frame, so I would worry about even a medium sized dog in here without adding plywood to the underside sitting on the frame. I like the design of the screens and doors overall, since they all have seperate zippered screens and clear plastic flaps so you can close it up if it starts raining while you're out. I can't use this with my dog, and the poorly designed base means that I would worry about anything bigger than 20-30lbs unless you add a plywood base.
This was a GREAT decision!
I researched hard before making this purchase a year ago. Colby is a 13 year old, 75 lb. lab who has always been my walking partner. In his older age, he tires more easily (me, too) and his back legs get weak due to arthritis. I hated taking him for shorter walks then dropping him off at home while I went for a longer walk. Hated it. He knew. After all of my research, I purchased the Aosom Elite. I put it together myself (52 y.o. woman)~ it came somewhat assembled and (despite the poorly written instructions) I was able to figure out the assembly. The most difficult fitting bar was easier to install with an anti-slip jar opener (the rubber gripper). We use this product as a stroller, not attached to a bicycle. It took Colby a few times to figure out which way he wanted to ride and to learn that it was safe~ he was unsure at first. Once he got used to it, he has loved it. He walks some, rides some at his choosing. The brakes are really just for helping to slow on hills and it lightly locks to keep it from rolling. We bought a thin memory foam dog bed from Wal-Mart to add comfort for Colby because the flooring/pillow are not cushy enough. Also, buy a tire pump and keep the tires inflated well to run most smoothly. Even with 75 lbs of dog, it rolls very easily on flat surfaces. Little hills will up your workout! The front, back and top zip open. It's not too high for him to jump in with a little assistance. He rides with the front and top open as shown in the pictures. The handle-bar is easily adjustable for height. Measure your doors to be sure that you can get through them as it is wide. Also, we keep ours inside to prevent any rusting. It has held up very well. I am SO glad that we bought this! It has been worth every cent of the cost.
absolutly wonderful. great for people and pets with disabilities
everyone on the lake trail with old dogs stops me and asks where did i get this. I spent a real long time trying to figure which one to buy and i am so so glad i got this one. it is very well constructed and impeccably designed. they seemed to think of everything. it's so great to be able to have all the various ways to get the dogs into the trolly. Its super easy to switch back and forth between bike mode and walking/running mode. Its super light weight and i can fit 3 20 pound pugs in here! i bought this for my blind deaf 14 year old pug. this has truly changed her life. she is in love with life again. i watched her go from depressed to loving life again. she looks forward to the wind in her face and the gentle movement. the two young pugs love it too. i can finally get the whole gang to the beach without everyone pulling me on the leash. I have a disability and this also helps me walk when my back is out so its a win win win for me and for the dogs.i wanted to write an update since i have had this a year and it held up perfectly!!! my dogs love it so much they jump into it on their own! i outfitted mine with some bike lights so that i can use it at night. i cant tell you how much i appreciate the manufacturers for this outstanding product! i would invest in the company its truly wonderful!! btw my puggy dog is still alive at 15 now thanks to this product. i would gladly do a video im that thanksful.
tipping makes this difficult to push
I bought this for my 65 lb pit who ruptured her CCL for pre and post surgery needs. As another reviewer pointed out, it tips. It not only tips when the dog gets in and out, it tips if the dog sits anywhere from center to back. This makes it extremely difficult to push as you are fighting with your arms to keep the thing steady while walking. Unfortunately, this instability caused my dog to be quite nervous in this and she actually injured herself more by reacting to the imbalance. Now she hates the thing. It is not good for city walking as going up and down sidewalks causes more instability and more canine freaking out. I would highly suggest the manufacturer install a flippable kick stand underneath, although, that will not solve the tipping problem while walking. I am going to stuff a dog bed in the back so she cannot sit there but it makes it very cramped for her.
Great trailer and customer service!!
We brought this trailer/stroller to pull our two dogs and to use to haul our grocery's back to our RV! It saved me so much money because it fits several functions in our daily life!! The trailer for our girls pulls amazingly! When they are in it I handles great turns smoothly and the springs help to keep it stable while riding! I have owned burly trailers in the past, this one out preforms my burly hands down. It is a little hard to swicptch from stroller to trailer but the front wheel is more stable then I had hoped for while walking! I have already recommend this trailer and !ore important this company to several people! The important thing to remember is the stroller is cooler because of the white top. My girls drive me crazy for a ride. If you are on the fence for this purchase go for it you will not be disappointed. It is a little hard to collapse but after a few times the canvas losed up and now it is fine!
Withstood our road trip to AK
I bought this for a road trip I was taking from WA State to AK, specifically for my two Shih Tzus, one has mobility issues and the other walks like he's playing connect the dots. For it's use, I left off the interior "support bar" near the handlebar as I needed to make this collapsible for our trip. I removed the wheels and handlebar every time I was done using it (I broke it out anytime they'd be on walks longer than about 10min). It took MAYBE 8 mins to break it down/put together each time, and I stored it under the RV couch. I did notice one small crack where the handlebar goes after the 3rd use, but I think I shoved my camera tripod on top of it too hard, plus with how often I used it, I was ok with that (I just used superglue to fix that). I personally didn't think the fabric was as "sturdy" as described, BUT it held up and there are no tears, plus I love the screens that allow air to flow through. My dogs like to look out, so I often snap them in and leave the front open, which they love! As far as the center metal bar sticking up in the back, it is oddly placed, so I just bought some of those things that go one the bottom of chairs to prevent scuffs and it covered it just fine (see photos). I also bought another dog blanket/liner as the one in there is not enough. I used this on paved roads, sidewalks, walking trails and light hiking trails and it was great. The longest distance we went was about 5 miles at once and had no issues. Now we use it everyday on their walks, they let me know when they want out/in. I do carry a small tire pump just incase though. My complaints: The handlebar doesn't seem very sturdy and the brakes are a waste. Though they do lock in place, the brake part doesn't even touch the tires, so they're purely there to be able to say it has breaks. Also, both dogs did stand at the rear one time and it started to tip, so just make sure you always have a hand on it/are aware. Lastly, my dogs sit right next to each other in the same spot, so its seems to be dipping right there, so I need to look into reinforcing the bottom somehow, but other than that, I think this was money well spent for my kiddos. NOTE: I have not used it as bike stroller.
I love the stroller
I bought this stroller directly from Aosom (pronounced "awesome"). I love the stroller! It's of sturdy quality. I want to give them a 5 star, but the instructions are worthless as you've probably read from other reviewers; and, they appear to have been worthless for years. Due to its large size, I must remove the wheels and fold it to get it out of my apartment. It's also heavy. I can't remember the specs, but I'm going to say it's 45 lbs. However, it's nearly weightless when I push it. As much as I love it, I have to say that if you have limited space inside it's probably not ideal. It "folds" down once you remove the side wheels, but it's still cumbersome and awkward to store. The price is amazing in comparison to other strollers with good wheels (rubber bike wheels and not those ridiculous plastic doll stroller wheels).Assembly is actually easy, though the lack of decent instructions initially led me to believe otherwise.
Glad I got it
The instructions were pretty much nonexistent so I found a YouTube video of someone assembling a similar one and I figured it out from there. Took me about an hour. Tires needed pumped up once I got it put together, but that's no big deal. I bought a gel-cooling pad to lay in the base of it. My 12 year old Sheltie, who was unable to enjoy walks, got in it the first time and seemed to love it. She would ride for a bit, then bark at me to get out, and walk for a bit, then hop back in to ride again. She just seemed to love having a choice! It's a bit tricky to steer with her in it, plus my other two dogs pulling on their leashes, but we continue to work on leash etiquette so it should get better. Overall, apart from the beyond crappy assembly instructions, it's been a great purchase.
The Griffy taxie
I love this thing. And my little buddies do too.I put this trailer/stroller together today and let my little buddy's check it out and get into it. Then put all 5 in and pushed it around the yard for awhile. They did not want to get out. So off we went all six of us. Went out for a couple mile walk. Got back and they said why did you stop pushing papa, lets go again. So after a little break we were off again. Another couple miles. The tails were wagging the whole time. I usually walk them but can only walk two at a time so that I can lift them up and protect them in case of larger dogs charge. Also it makes it nice to have them in there to protect them from larger dogs. So the five combined weigh about 70 lbs. Enough room for all to be in there and not be to crowded. I wanted a trailer to pull them behind my bike at slow speeds. To take them for a little fun while I get some exercise. I saw this and liked the idea that it is a stroller also. The front will pivots which makes it easy to maneuver. Or you can fix the front wheel for like jogging. For the price it is a very good deal. The suspension does seem to soften the ride. But I bought the 2.5 inch pad to put inside to cushion more. The thin pad that it comes with attaches by 4 small Velcro tabs that kept coming loose and pad folding up. Put a towel in but then bottom material is slippery so towel slides all over with the 5 in it. So hoping the pad will fix those problems. Also I think some type of pad would be beneficial in trailer mode to cushion ride and make bottom more durable. One thing I did not like was on the 4 corners to enable canvas cover to attach there is a large opening that the dogs paw can slip through. It is a couple inches tall and you can see through it. I think the pad will help with that also and stuffing a towel in there. The pad I believe is like two inches narrower and shorter than the bottom inside of trailer. Have not confirmed yet waiting on pad.But over all me and my little buddies give it thumbs up and they are excited to go for rides in it.A couple things I wanted to share. The square tubes on rear frame sticking up that people said we're sharp and we're affaid of their dog scraping on them. Those are for the front wheel when you take that off to convert to bike trailer. To protect dog while in stroller mode. The trailer extension folds under caraige while in stoller mode. To extend the trailer arm tilt it up on it's rear. Leave center pin in but unlatch the wire keeper. Remove other pin. Swing arm to forward position. Insert pin.Another tip is the crossbar inside buggy. For assembly to complete leave the push arm with brake lever off. Look through top. There will be a cross bar hanging. Remove pin. Swing it up and spread the top as much as you can and slip bar into plastic bracket. Then insert pin. Then install push bar with brake lever. Easier that way. To fold reverse that order.
