Tried to replace the ‘flapper’ only with one of the universal replacement but still experienced a problem. Replaced with the Kohler product that worked perfectly.

Installing wasn’t difficult but the instructions are meant to replace in kind. Says to mark the water level of old flapper but didn’t have the original installed so level was different. Luckily I kept the old original flapper from years ago and used that as a guide to set the level of the foam piece.

Obscure Blue Flapper solves the problem

Was surprised to find this obscure flapper available from Home Depot. Although it was not available in store we ordered it and it arrived at our local store in a day. reasonably priced, quick delivery, easy installation and our leaky toilet was back in action!

Exact replacement for my 20 year old Kohler toilet. Easy instructions to follow. A little hard to get the attachment off the new chain to trim to length, but very easy to install. I replaced two toilets that would run occasionally due to bad flappers and now both work like new.

Dislike the chain method. Difficult to get a good fit. Hard to readjust.

It works but there is no way to adjust the chain length on any side of the float.
