I wanted a replacement for an expensive 20 yr old "designer" nightstand swing arm lamp whose switch had blown. There is limited to choose from anywhere, that is not floor or wall hung. This will provide light but that's about it. The "swing" is one arm, one way only, meaning if you want on right side of bed, it may work for you. On the left the cord will protrude on the table. The predominant colors are dark drown and gold for switch. I kept my linen shade, as the one provided is too brown of a beige. I would return it but there is nothing else to choose from for my need in the $ range.

Clean, simple yet classic style

I bought a pair of these as it was the perfect style I was looking for in a modern farmhouse project. I am happy enough overall, but would like to point out a couple of things: Firstly, the finish is a weird color, not like any dark bronze I've ever seen and not a simple black either. It's like a mashup of charcoal grey with a touch of dark green, the base has the typical rub/antiqued detail showing a hint of bronze. Secondly, the lamps are good heavy weight with tight swingarm hinges suggestive of very high quality; however, on both lamps the last segment of the swing arm (the part that goes up to the switch and bulb socket) is welded on slightly askew/crooked. I am using the pair as bedside lamps, so I can live with this imperfection. But, if I were placing these in an area where I sit and look at them all the time, I would've exchanged/returned them because of this flaw.

Average lamp which is ok for the price. After we bought this lamp we decided to upgrade the lamp shade.

We use them on our bedside tables. It is great having the 3 lighting options and the ability to move them closer to our reading material.
