excellent so far

So far we are impressed with the flushing capacity. All three take up less room in our bathrooms than the old toilets.

Exactly what I needed

I needed a product that would close slowly and quietly especially when our young grandkids are around and this fits the bill.

Initial impressions are that it appears to operate well, height is comfortable and color matches bathroom. Some disappointment that the seat cover when upright is uncomfortable if leaning on it, but that’s relatively minor. It has only been a week since install.

Great toilet seat upgrade

Great toilet seat. Installed like a breeze. Love the new features. The seat lifter is a nifty idea, the soft close works perfectly.

[Rewarded Review] Great heavy plastic round toilet seat

The Cadet toilet seat was easy to install and is made heavy plastic. So it feels robust. It lifts easily and it soft closes nicely.

This is a replacement for the original seat I had for over 16 years. The original held up pretty well, but had discolored from use (white to dingy grey-beige). Bought the new to refresh the space. Love that the seat top doesn't touch the seat bottom and love the slow close feature.

Made it worse than previous design.

Design changed for the worse. They moved the lift tab to the lid instead of the seat, so now you have to touch the seat proper to lift it; likely touching the bowl and reducing the sanitary benefits of the tab.

Lightweight, sharp edges, hinge wiggles

This seat is too light weight, the main hinge has a side to side loose wiggle so it will move as you sit on it, and the plastic edges are not smooth and very uncomfortable to sit on. I replaced this three days later with a much more solid laminated wood seat. I would not recommend this seat at all.

Disappointed with redesign

Bought this to replace the original American Standard seat whose slow close mechanism had failed. The new seat is harder to clean because of sharply projecting 'lugs' molded into bottom of the seat and the lid. It also lacks the quick release feature that easily allowed the original seat to be removed from the toilet bowl for deep cleaning.

I've not been impressed with it. It's plastic. The slow close feature doesn't do anything for me because my old toilet seat I always held the lid until it was closed so I tend to do the same with this one. What really bothered me is the first time I lifted it up to use the toilet and I saw two blocks of styrofoam glued to the inside of the cover. Besides the fact that styrofoam is cheap, my bigger concern was the fact that you cannot sanitize styrofoam. That's disgusting since we're in the middle of a pandemic. The bottom of the seat has a small half circle of plastic that sticks out on the left side for men whose fingers might have difficulty lifting the bottom lid up. That makes me understand who designed this thing, who it was for and why sanitation is not an issue. I use body powder between my thighs and I've never had residue on any of the toilet seats that I've had before, but for some reason this seat attracts the powder and it collects making it look dirty even if I've just cleaned it. Because toilets now come without seats and toilet bowls can be elongated or round and in a variety of sizes, I was pretty much stuck buying this seat whether I wanted it or not because it was extremely unclear on Home Depot's web site what other seats I could use that would actually fit this specific toilet. I think I found this toilet seat by looking at the answer to a question for the toilet itself. The bottom line is that paying $36.49 + tax was too much for a toilet seat that's made of plastic and styrofoam. I expect something better from a brand name and for the high price that's being charged.

When open for use, sitting on it the lid is very uncomfortably against your back, returned to store. It was very nice looking, shape and color. Seemed to be sturdy for the very brief time it was in place. Soft closing function seemed good but again, only had in place maybe 10 minutes at most. Packed up and returned.

This toilet seat cover is very thin, but it does slow-close as promised (a bit too slow for my preference) . I have an American Standard toilet in Linen, but the seat is a bit lighter in color than the toilet. I do like the finger tab on the seat itself for men when they need to lift the whole seat.

I can't really speak to the quality of the seat, but I'm very annoyed that the information on the website is wrong. I specifically bought it because my American Standard toilet is wide and I wanted a seat that covers all the porcelain. The promise of 16.5 inches wide was perfect. However, at most this seat is only 14.5 inches wide. Luckily I didn't open it and I'll be returning it. I don't think I'll trust Home Depot's online information again.

Very uncomfortable toilet seat

This seat might install easily and close well, but it is by far the most uncomfortable seat we have ever had. It might work well if you never had to sit down on it. When the lid is up there is an almost two inch protruding rim around the whole lid that sticks straight in your back if you were sitting. There is a tremendous difference not only with the style but in also the construction and quality with a comparable priced one we replaced it with.

Cleaning is a breeze!

I know it is a toilet seat, but love the slow close feature. All the hinges are safely hidden behind the easy to clean and care for plastic finish. Delivery was quick .Husband installed just as quickly. Only downside, I will likely not sit on lid to put on my socks.

I’m okay with these seats. A little surprised with the lightweight but overall a good buy. I purchased 3 for each bathroom. Install very easy. Quality is good. Smooth surfaces and soft close lids are appreciated

The seat matched my American Standard toilet perfectly. I like the little extra lip that allows you to lift the seat without touching the seat rim. Nice, sturdy seat. The only issue I have with American Standard is that I think the toilet seat should be included with the toilet.

Very easy to install. Love the design, the slow lowering of the seat and the overall quality. American Standard makes good products. I do think the seat is a little pricey and when added to the $300 plus toilet I bought - well - it will last a lifetime for sure.

Line in the Middle of the Toilet Seat

There is a faint but noticeable line in the middle of the toilet seat. I returned the first one and ordered another one thinking it was defective. However, the second one had the same line! I guess this is how they are made but looks like it may turn into a crack after some use.
