Very easy to install - looks great

I installed 7 of these in existing recessed kitchen lighting. Installation was super easy and they look fantastic. None are 100% flush with the ceiling but the gap is only a few millimeters so it isn't really noticeable unless you know it's there. Our kitchen is a lot brighter than before but, because of how these lights are designed, there's no annoying lightbulb-in-your-face glare when you look up at the ceiling like there was with our traditional recessed lights.

Nice Light, Poor Installation Mechanism

I bought two of these lights with the bronze color overlay to upgrade the existing 6" can lights on my front porch. The lights seem well made and look nice, but it took me over 2 hours and a trip to Lowes to get them installed. I found the included torsion springs useless. One spring always shot back out as I attempted to push it inside the existing can. When I finally got all four rods into the can the light hung there about 1" from the ceiling. I repeatedly pushed in up into the can, but it would not stay flush with the ceiling. I eventually cut the torsion springs off and replaced them with a set of Hillman 11/32" x 2-3/8" x .035" springs I purchased at Lowes. I attached the springs to the inside of the can and to the LED light frame where the torsion springs had been attached. The lights are now flush with the ceiling.

If you are looking for a good nickel finish, look elsewhere. The finish is not smooth and is uneven, especially near the light source. I went through six different nickel sets and they were all bad in the same area. It's like a band of scratched metal about 1/2" from light. When the light is on, you won't notice because you'll be blinded by the light, so to speak.

Very compact and sleek LED light. Appears well made. Given that the 5"/6" light is held in place within the can by 2 spring loaded clips, installation is a little bit more involved. Love the trim tab system in the event you want to change the trim color. All in all, a great light and is bright with no flickering.

It took us a long time to get it to stop coming down the sides wouldn’t clip in correctly. Outside of that it was fine gives off light and looks nice

Ordered these to replace some traditional can light trim rings and bulbs due to wasps building nests within the enclosures. These definitely did the trick! LED lights are dimmable (Lutron Caseta) and look great installed in our dark wood ceiling!

We were forced to purchase 2-replacement NICOR lights for our living room. had to go all the way to NICOR to get the correct product number. Then, once they came, 10-days after ordering, they had to be put together with the nickel trim. Which, if you pay close enough attention to this add, you'll see that is the case. We didn't pay attention to that detail, just the correct product number. Our mistake there. And as so often happens, the shade of the nickel that came did not match with the nickel coloring that we were told that they were a replacement for. This latter part is on the manufacturer, obviously, and not Home Depot; who was the middle man in all of this because the box came from NICOR directly and not Home Depot. BUYER BEWARE!!
