pricey and top notched quality
Hansgrohe is known for high end products. As such, it's pricey; however nothing could go wrong in terms of quality and support. I bought this together with a new faucet (same brand), which only needs on hole. This product allows me to cover the other two holes. BTW, I reused my bathroom sink; just updated only the faucet.

This base plate is beefy and very substantial. Pair it with the Hansgrohe Eurostyle Single Handle Single hold to cover the three-hole sink for the standard centerpiece faucet you probably don't like because as we all know most builders go cheap when building homes and putting in weak, lame, uninspiring faucets. I only wish my builder would have put in something like this faucet instead of those lame cookie-cutter home specials I had to live with for so long. Wayfair needs to have more pictures of this faucet with the 6" deck plate. You definitely need to buy this base plate if you have to cover up the three-hole sink faucet. The complete setup looks awesome with the baseplate too. I got two of these for my kid's jack-n-jill bathroom and they love how easy it is now to turn on. I just like the look, which is a major improvement to the bathroom, and the clean lines are a nice bonus.

These are nice (beautiful finish) and allowed us to replace our 3-hole faucet with a single hole faucet.
