It's not as bright as I hoped but I tried and returned a couple of lamps before I got this one and it's the best of the three in terms of brightness. It's nice quality for the price - doesn't look cheap. You can turn on 1, 2, 3 or 4 bulbs, which is nice - not quite a dimmer switch, but close. Overall, I'm happy with it.
