Looks pretty but burns the toasts

I have just bought the HADEN Dorset Putty Beige 2-Slice Toaster to match this Haden putty kettle, which I bought years ago at C&B and works great. I was expecting the same quality and reliability for the toaster. It looks really nice on my countertop, but it does not work well; even set on at the lowest degree (1), it burns the bread. I was using it for the second day this morning, and suddenly, I smelled a burning odor, saw some smoke, and ran to reach the cancel button...it was set at 1; I can't imagine what it would have happened if I had set it at position 2 or 3! Sadly it has to return.

Very nice toaster. Easy to operate. It looks very expensive and is not a small toaster like my old one. Also the bread is toasted evenly . Thank you, Wayfair ! I love it 

I think it looks beautiful sitting on my counter and I know it will be admired by everyone!! It makes great toast also!!

Very pretty toaster, even sturdy. I returned the first new toaster. The browning is not good on both new toasters. I gave up after the second toaster but kept it as I had none.

It works. But if you pop toast up to check it you have to wait 30 seconds for the thing to reset the temp. The entire toaster casing gets warm/hot. I ordered a blender at the same time to get matching colors. The dye lots do not match!
