Plumbing part
This unit worked out perfectly. I had called the night before and Des (name?) spent a good deal of time making sure she had located the exact item I needed. I was able to pick it oo early in morning. The gentleman that assisted in my purchase was professional and friendly. I love this store.
already defective...
just purchased this last night and after we had almost all of it installed, the anchor screw would not fit to secure the handle. unfortunately, now i have to take MORE time to call delta and get new pieces. who knows if they will... otherwise, i have to uninstall the entire unit, go into the store, and exchange. i wish these brands would go back to making things in METAL. CHEAP metal 'looking' fixtures are just garbage and they don't last! this is one of many in our home that are cheaply made, and several have broken after just a few years, but even my plumber, who's been in the biz for decades, says they're all made this way. he agrees they are junk. it's such a shame! LOWES...i know you have your own brand, PLEASE make something quality for your customers!
The mounting of the valve is not optimal for future removals as it mounts from the front. Make sure to have at least 1” thick wall as the screws for the faceplate will hit the attachment for the assembly if it is any smaller. This will not allow for tight seal. Decent for a complete redo but would not want to install this if I was just changing out the fixtures.
Missing parts
The product is fine. Other than the missing parts. I was leery when I purchased because the box had been opened. But it was the last one on the shelf. During installation it became apparent that the chrome sleeve was missing.

The sleeve trim cylinder that fits over the cartridge leading to the water on off handle does not have any way of being stabilized to prevent rotation of the sleeve or to prevent the sleeve from being pushed in or out 1/2" or more into the hole in the escutcheon into which it fits, which allows for the naked copper pipe to show, if the sleeve slips out of place. We called Delta, who said that perhaps an o ring and a spacer, that had come with the tuv and shower kit was missing, and shipped us those 2 items. We had our plumber return, who opened up the handle, and found the 2 pieces were not missing, they were correctly installed. Adding the additional rings in front of the others did nothing to solve the problem, so the plumber took them out again, and told us there was nothing we could do, that the Delta Monitor Series 13 tub and shower design was bad. We will probable have to use some clear caulk around the place where the trim sleeve meets the escutcheon, to stabilize this sleeve, which will be unsightly. We are very disgusted with this purchase, and cannot afford another visit from the plumber. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

For the price you get everything you need in the package. Everything looks and works great. Should have changed my previous setup a long time ago. Finally get to control the water flow properly and efficiently.
Not the same quality as Delta in the past
I’m disappointed in the quality of these shower valve sets. The handle and set screw were cross threaded and I had to order a new one. Also, it comes with a small allen wrench which is difficult to use do to the shape of the handle (a long straight allen wrench would be better). The spicket is made of plastic instead of metal which isn’t the quality I want.

was missing parts. handle set screw, and long screw for faceplate stripped, tub adapter won't go on spout, I've used this brand for over 25 years with no issues but today. Bought another to complete clients work and it also was missing parts, even with straps on boxes. not up to normal excellence
The cartridge is defective
My contractor installed this faucet for me. After a few months of installation, there was no hot water. After spending time doing research, I find out that turning the inside cartridge to hot will fix it. I thought the old contractor did not do a good job , so I asked a new contractor to come to fix this for me. It was January, it was cold. We took a few cold showers already. After he fixed it , a few weeks later, same problem. No hot water in the middle of winter. Now I come to a conclusion that the cartridge is defective. This is absolutely ridiculous. Very very disappointed. Delta should compensate my time and money and all the inconvenience. Will never use Delta product again
Delta always a safe purchase; quality brass valve
Products aren't the problem at Lowes. Packaging and labelling are. One of our customer's bought a Sterling bathtub and a tub surround recently. She got home and had a shower panel, not a tub panel, and only 1 panel, not the 3 total she thought she had bought. How did the folks on the sales floor at Lowes NOT know they had let her buy the wrong item and that her order wasn't complete??? Why aren't those stupid tub and shower panels sold and labelled properly???? How hard is it to identify a surround with the words "shower" and "tub" on the side of the box?? It's also quite easy to say "there are three pieces enclosed," or "there's 1 piece enclosed; be sure to purchase box 322 to complete the set." After how many years in business, and many, many years selling these shower and tub surrounds, WHY are the folks at Lowes still so clueless about them ??? Nothing about these systems is difficult or even complicated, but it keeps happening and there's no reason for it. Here's the solution: Put pictures on the exterior of the box so customer's can "see" inside and know what they're buying. Label and identify all tub and shower surrounds better!!!! Take ALL the mystery out of buying these systems by improving the labels and packaging. Follow this up with some employee training. It's that simple. Please, Lowes corporate: solve this problem!!! I am sick and tired of Lowes employees wasting the time and talent of my crew members (and the money I must pay them for this time, which is lost!) when they need to travel to the store, return all the wrong items Lowes sold to my customer (the homeowner), and then purchase the right items for the customer.
Disappointed. Cheap product.
I like how it is all in one unit together: valve, filler, shower, etc. It sure looks nice in the pictures and the price sure is right. Once I opened the box, however, I was disappointed to find that the tub filler/spout/faucet was just a piece of faux chrome plastic. It won't last a second with kids. Also, I'm not going to go to all the trouble and expense of a remodel with tile, etc, just to put a plastic spout there. I'm going to have to return it and go back out once again while trying to social distance to get something else.

What's there to say.....Its shower plumbing. Like most shower plumbing manufactured today its very "plasticy". Install is easy and works as any shower should. It would be nice if things were actually made of metal with a chrome finish that last a lifetime for that kind of money. Just seems silly to me to pay $90.00 for a couple small pieces of plastic and a valve.
Nice valve
Delta makes a good product and this one certainly deserves praise, especially from the perspective of a homeowner trying to save the expense of hiring someone to do the work. This unit was easy to work with, simple to assemble and functions beautifully. That being said I must urge caution for the average guy who wants to save some money. The installation does require open flame for soldering the pipes to the unit. More than one person has neglected to take the necessary care and burned his house down. that isn't a great way to save money. I have over 40 years in the building trades and was comfortable with the task and took the precautions. If you have ANY QUESTION about your knowledge of soldering copper pipes together, please contact a reputable tradesman.

We are converting some 3 handle PF showers to a 1 handle Delta. The Classic is one of their lower lines but they are for rentals. Delta's build gives us the long lasting quality we need but read on.

Product looks ok on the store display, so went with it. I had the subcontractors open the box and install this when I wasn't present. Later, when I inspected the work I was highly disappointed to see that the spout and plates are now plastic. I would have returned this had I known. It seems some companies are increasingly making products more and more flimsy to increase profits. This is another example.
Mixed feelings...
I bought this Delta faucet kit to replace my existing Delta tub faucet that started leaking. That, and the old faucet was white, which apparently was the thing to have in 1999. So I also wanted an update to chrome while re-using the existing plumbing valve. Installation was pretty easy once I drilled out the old control lever and cut off the seized bonnet nut holding the cartridge in place (a common problem, it seems). Everything fit perfectly and worked out nicely once the original hardware was removed. The only complaint I have about this product is the use of both metal and ABS plastic. The shower head is ABS, the pipe and trim are metal. Okay, fine. The water lever and trim is metal. The spout itself is ABS. A plastic spout - really? It looks okay but is cheap to the touch. I read somewhere that the ABS stands up better in areas where it contacts water (like the shower head and spout) because it does not corrode. Maybe true, but it still seems a little cheesy to me. Regardless it does work perfectly and the price is good, so I cannot fault Delta for that. That is my two cents; take it for what it's worth.
